Since the purchase of the Kansas City Wizards, the parent company of OnGoal, LLC (OnGoal), has kept every promise it has made to the community by keeping professional soccer in Kansas City and growing the sport on a national and international scale. The ownership group made the initial investment of $5.5 million in a state-of-the-art training center for the Kansas City Wizards and opened that facility in 2007. Since they have continued to push for a high-performance, consumer-experience centered facility that the Wizards will call home. In 2009 OnGoal moved forward with that vision by acquiring the space and properties to begin the construction of an 18,000 seat, soccer-specific, stadium set to open in mid-2011. This facility will by far be the most advanced sporting venue of its kind and will draw nearly 2 million visitors a year attending not only Wizards’ matches, but concerts, social gatherings and other sports-related events.

The Kansas City Wizards organization is growing and currently looking for highly motivated and passionate self-starters to join their sales team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for the sports industry, a solid foundation of sales training and the ability to initiate cold calls, face-to-face appointments and find creative and innovative programs to drive attendance and revenue for the organization.

The basic function of a Wizards Senior Account Executive is to sell season tickets, group tickets and premium inventory for the Wizards current facility and the Wizards new stadium due to open in 2011.

Essential Duties & Obligations:


· Grow and develop the Kansas City Wizards fan-base, with a focus on youth soccer through numerous phone calls, meetings and networking events
· Build effective and prosperous relationships with current customer base to ensure repeat business and referral of other sales prospects
· Continually and aggressively source and pursue prospective customers and season ticket holders
· Network with local business and organizations in an effort to acquire sales leads
· Maintain and continually grow a prospect database and track new sales leads
· Proactively look and prospect for new leads and customers
· Assist in the planning and execution of various Kansas City Wizards related events and activities
· Attend all Kansas City Wizards home matches to continue to build relationships with the client base and prospect for new customers

Ideal Candidates Must Possess:

Player Operations: Coach
Soccer Coach - Kansas City Wizards (Leawood, KS)

Kansas City's professional soccer team, the Kansas City Wizards, is looking for hard-working, highly motivated individuals that are interested in coaching youth soccer. Our camps will be June-August in both MO and KS. As a camp coach you will be in charge of players that range from 4-16yrs olds. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: on field coaching, planning sessions, setting up the field, checking players in and out and all other tasks that may go along with soccer camps.

Requirements:
· USSF or NSCAA License
· 3+ years of playing experience
· 3+ years of coaching experience
· U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
· Experience in soccer camps is preferred

Street Team Internship - Kansas City Wizards (Leawood, KS)

The Kansas City Wizards have a new opportunity for a college-credit internship this spring and need your help immediately! We are looking for 10-15 people to help us on a weekly basis for our outside promotions team. These individuals will be the face of our team/organization and help us promote/market the Wizards in the community. This is a classic grass-roots marketing program that will have this group bouncing from one event to another, all over the Kansas City metro area. While this will not be a full-time internship, the ability to work nights and weekends is required.
 

Street Team members duties include:
o Represent OnGoal/Kansas City Wizards at community events, youth soccer tournaments and other soccer related events and Wizards home matches in a professional and positive manner
o Creating positive interactions with various fans/guests of the Kansas City Wizards including, youth players, coaches, families and administrators through various promotions, events and marketing efforts
o Increase awareness, interest and fan support for the Kansas City Wizards through the distribution of promotional materials and branding activities
o Full operational support (set-up/tear-down) of all promotional materials including tents, tables, inflatables, soccer tennis nets, etc.
o Grow the Kansas City Wizards database and assist in ticket sales initiatives through data captures and other grass-root marketing efforts

Participating Outside Promotions team members will be paid based on the number of events worked. Events will include street team appearances at both community/youth soccer events and Wizards home games. Members will also be provided with Wizards gear, tickets to home matches and other Wizards events.


Pay scale is as follows:
o 5 events - $250, 1 credit hour (per semester)
o 10 events - $500, 2 credit hours (per semester)
o 15 events - $750, 3 credit hours (per semester)
**Street Team members must be present for the entire event in order to receive credit**

Street Team Assignments:
o Street Team assignments will be based on the scheduled community events, soccer tournaments/games in the area and the Wizards home game schedule

Length of internship:
o Spring session: March – May
o Summer session: mid May – mid August
o Fall session: mid August – November

Internship requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree from or currently enrolled at an accredited institution
o Minimum 3.0 GPA (based on 4.0 scale)
o U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
o Available to work home matches and events throughout internship session (primarily evenings and weekends)
