POSITION SUMMARY

The Sporting Kansas City Community Relations Intern will hold a temporary position within the company, with an emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in sports, philanthropy, marketing and sales.  The Community Relations Intern will gain hands-on experience working with the Community Relations Team from January thru August, collaborating in an environment full of learning opportunities designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths and reach their fullest potential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Represent Sporting Kansas City, The Victory Project, Children’s Mercy Park and other affiliates and partners in the community.
  • Strengthen the brand with a natural connection to the community.
  • Assist in the fulfillment and distribution of autographed memorabilia and tickets to community groups.
  • Market Sporting Kansas City during events throughout Kansas City and its surrounding communities.
  • Assist with management of The Victory Project social media accounts, ensuring to keep accounts updated with new materials.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Community Relations and Foundation events and programming.
  • Assist with game day programming, including the coordination of the 4-3-3 raffle program, meet and greets, VIP game day experiences, pregame ceremonies, and in-game activations.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of activities related to the SKC Open.

Position Summary

The Sporting Kansas City Brand Ambassador promotes Sporting Kansas City to ensure a memorable fan experience. The Brand Ambassador assists the Events Marketing Team with event planning, marketing and advertising; acting as the “face” of Sporting Kansas City and strengthening the brand with a natural connection to the community.

Essential Functions

Fan Services Manager - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

Position Summary

Sporting Kansas City’s Fan Services Manager helps to develop, lead and maintain a program that fosters the ultimate experience for all Sporting Kansas City guests.

Essential Functions

  • Provide the highest level of service and establish expectations for the Guest Services Team, as well as continuously pursue the next level of service by developing and coordinating additional service behavior programs designed to enhance relationships with all guests, vendors and partners.
  • Continuously research guest services options, studying what other organizations are doing and identifying best practices.
  • Lead the Transportation Coordinator and assist them with developing Children’s Mercy Park’s event day parking plan.
  • Host and operate all job fairs for part-time positions at Children’s Mercy Park.
  • Train all associates on the Guest Services Team by providing adequate orientation and organizational training, Sporting University and role-specific training throughout the year.
  • Manage the work environment to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity, scheduling, leading, incentivizing and rewarding performance.
  • Assist with the training of Sporting University to all outside vendors associated with Children’s Mercy Park.
  • Help create new ideas for the overall experience that guests receive on game days, as well as solve any issues to make sure that guests have a remarkable experience at Children’s Mercy Park.
  • Resolve guest related issues in an appropriate manner, tracking service issues to identify trends and service improvement opportunities.
  • Post all games and events on Shiftboard so part-time associates can sign up to work, and create a deployment for associates to place everyone in a specific spot.
  • Responsible for the Tour Program at Children’s Mercy Park by scheduling, collecting payment, staffing and giving tours to various groups.
  • Assist the People Leader with all Guest Services paperwork and additional information needed.
  • Approve all payroll for associates on the Guest Services Team.
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls, emails and in-person meetings related to guest suggestions and complaints on a daily basis.
  • Participate in developing, implementing and maintaining Sporting Kansas City’s Fan Loyalty Program.

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of multiple bars and premium food and beverage outlets, including associate performance management, inventory controls, optimizing profits and providing exceptional guest experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of the food and beverage outlets staff to ensure that all guests receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Proactively deal with guest queries, advise guests on menus and beverage selections, ensure satisfaction with food and service, and respond to any complaints in an expeditious manner.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and HR/Payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise general cleaning tasks using standard products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum associate morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness.

Video Operations Producer & Editor - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

Position Summary

The Video Operations Producer & Editor is responsible for creating high quality video content for use on various Sporting Kansas City platforms.

Essential Functions

  • Produce compelling content on very tight and quick turnarounds.
  • Collaborate with associates on the Marketing Team to ensure all are working towards the same goal.
  • Create engaging content and graphics to promote, market and cover the organization.
  • Create, produce and edit videos and features for Sporting Kansas City.
  • Maximize video coverage and assess opportunities for integration within all properties.
  • Create and edit Sporting Kansas City videos for special events, projects and campaigns.
  • Assist in preparing ideas and content prior to away games.
  • Work to establish best practices on effective and technical video editing techniques, as well as identify and recommend new audio/video technologies by keeping abreast of developing technology.

Youth Soccer Intern - Spring 2017 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

POSITION SUMMARY

Sporting Kansas City’s Youth Soccer Intern will hold a temporary position within the company, with an emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in the various elements associated with Sporting Kansas City’s youth academy program, athletic partnership program and other youth soccer initiatives.  The Youth Soccer Intern will gain hands-on experience, collaborating in an environment full of learning opportunities designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths and reach their fullest potential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support the Youth Development Team by gathering research for potential member organizations in the Sporting Club Network.
  • Assist with partner activation and fulfillment on game days and at various events.
  • Hold coaching and/or administrative roles at Sporting Kansas City’s youth-driven events, including, but not limited to, camps and clinics.
  • Assist the Youth Development Team’s communications, online presence and digital media, such as social media, event recaps and blog writing.
  • Assist in the fulfillment of the Sporting Club Network and Academy Affiliate partnership programs.
  • Support the Youth Development Team with the preparation, production and data collection of mid-season and end of season recap reports.
  • Help organize, promote and facilitate soccer clinics, camps, coaching education and other community-driven events.
  • Support any projects, initiatives and other administrative duties related to Sporting Kansas City’s Youth Development Team.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and the Sporting Club organization on game day and at other various out-of-office promotional events.
  • Perform various game day duties with the Youth Development Team.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
