Duties/Responsibilities:
As a member of our corporate sales internship team you will be expected to serve as point of contact for current partners, renewals and prospects and is responsible for all sales process implementation.  Ensure that all facets of assigned sponsorship accounts are given service with professionalism, attention to detail and customized client focus.  This person will target a diverse group of important partners, renewals and prospects as well as internal contacts at all levels.  This position must support the organization’s mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, collaboration, and innovation. THIS IS AN UNPAID POSITION.

Corporate Sales Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize client objectives and goals to develop and research promotional platforms and partnership strategies.
  • Create, track, develop and maintain all proposals, research, contracts and wrap-up books following Corporate Partnership’s processes and guidelines.
  • Compile, report, enter, collect, forecast, and track accurate account elements, billing, fulfillment and contact information, as well as reports pertaining to proposals, contracts, budgets, and other account details. 
  • Greet, support, and serve current and potential clients daily and at games.
  • Assist, support and coordinate with internal departments in regards to all aspects of promoting and managing all Sporting Club Franchise properties and other department responsibilities; including but not limited to, special projects and planning.
  • Create new business opportunities through connecting with prospective clients.
  • Take ownership and/or lead on designated projects and programs for both activation and sales.
  • Learn and implement the sales process from introduction to closure including the following: prospect research, securing the meeting, conducting the pitch, follow-up strategies, finalizing terms and signed contract. 

Required Skills:

  • Professional appearance, attitude, and communication skills as well as the ability to work with others is expected.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills required. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support multiple high level positions. 
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.  
  • Strong teamwork aptitude required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Strong good oral and written communication skills and have the ability to work independently, and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Flexible schedule; ability to work long hours.
  • Must be able to work at all home games in the 2015 season.

Fall '15 Ticket Sales/Service Internship - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

Sporting Kansas City is looking for energetic interns with a flexible schedule (approximately 15-20 hours a week) who enjoy sports, sales and entertainment. Interns should be available during the Fall (approximately mid-August to early-November).


In order to qualify for the Sporting KC Sales and Service Internship a student must:

(1) Have junior or senior standing and be enrolled in a four-year degree program, or be enrolled in a graduate program and be eligible to receive course credit for the internship.

(2) Have a current cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

(3) Demonstrate high levels of leadership, confidence and innovation as compared to others in their peer group.

Any major is welcome but majors that would best fit the internship include: Sports Marketing and Management, Business or Communications. This internship is not paid, however there is an opportunity to earn class credit and possibly commissions.

Video Operations Intern - Fall 2015 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, KS)

We are currently seeking a Video Operations intern for the Fall of 2015. Video Operations produces the game day television broadcast, in-stadium video board show, and a variety of web content. In this program, the intern will have the opportunity to participate in all facets of production and improve his or her knowledge of control room and production equipment and software by working day-to-day with staff at the production facility. The internship will also enable the intern to push his or her level of creativity through shooting, editing projects and creating graphics.

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter, possess strong attention to detail and take great pride in his/her work. The internship will challenge the applicant’s ability to multitask in a busy environment. The intern will be given every opportunity to learn all aspects of production, so the intern must be focused on broadening his or her video production skillset.

The intern will perform his or her duties for Sporting Kansas City for the number of hours required to earn his/her academic credit. The internship will begin with the 2015 Fall semester and conclude at the end of the 2015 calendar year. Exact dates of the internship are negotiable. The intern must be available for home matches throughout the duration of the internship. The intern will be asked to commit to regularly scheduled office hours during the week and occasional nights and weekends These hours are also negotiable.
