Client Services Executive - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)


Sporting Kansas City is growing and currently looking for a highly motivated and passionate self-starter to join their Client Services Team. The ideal candidate must be an aggressive, experienced sales and service professional who leads by example, possesses the ability to establish solid business relationships, maintains a professional attitude and maximizes opportunities to increase revenue potential, drive attendance and retention.

Essential Duties & Obligations:
• Responsible for, but not limited to, the annual retention of season ticket members
• Fulfill season ticket member requests and questions via email, phone, face-to-face and administers invoicing and payment processes
• Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients and liaison between client services team and other teams within Sporting KC
• Enhance relationships with new and existing season ticket members to create new sales opportunities, and/or to renew, upgrade and ensure repeat business
• Generate a pre-determined minimum number of weekly out of office as well as in stadium “face-to-face” meetings to enhance the level of customer care
• Continually create and implement unique sales and service strategies, ideas and programs as a means of increasing retention rates and new business opportunities
• Contribute positively to the sales and service culture by developing mutually beneficial working relationships with all team members
• Participate and contribute to daily or weekly sales and service team meetings and training sessions
• Attend all home games and non-soccer related events

Ideal Candidates Must Possess:
• One (1) to two (2) years of sales and service experience required. Preferably in sports but not mandatory
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or related field
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Self motivated, self-starter mind-set and positive attitude
• Strong work-ethic, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays as needed

The ideal candidates will have a passion for the sports industry, a solid foundation of sales training and the ability to initiate phone calls, emails, face-to-face appointments and create new innovative programs to drive attendance and revenue for the organization.

The Sales Associate job is a full-time position with benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the maximization of revenue through the sale of Sporting Kansas City ticket packages including premium inventory, season tickets, partial plans, and group tickets for Sporting Park

· Cold call lead lists, and prospect for new business
· Meet or exceed daily call and appointment targets
· Meet or exceed yearly sales targets
· Build effective and prosperous relationships with current customer base to ensure repeat business and referral of other sales prospects
· Network with local business and organizations in an effort to acquire sales leads
· Maintain and continually grow a prospect database and track new sales leads
· Proactively look and prospect for new leads and customers
· Assist in the planning and execution of various Sporting Kansas City related events and activities
· Attend weekly meetings and role-play training sessions conducted by Sales Associate Manager
· Attend all Sporting Kansas City home games, and fulfill game night duties as assigned by management
· 8-10 month training program

Internships: Any Internship
Summer '15 Ticket Sales/Service Internship - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

Sporting Kansas City is looking for energetic interns with a flexible schedule (approximately 15-20 hours a week) who enjoy sports, sales and entertainment. Interns should be available during the Summer(approximately late-May to mid-August).

In order to qualify for the Sporting KC Sales and Service Internship a student must:

(1) Have junior or senior standing and be enrolled in a four-year degree program, or be enrolled in a graduate program and be eligible to receive course credit for the internship.

(2) Have a current cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

(3) Demonstrate high levels of leadership, confidence and innovation as compared to others in their peer group.

Any major is welcome but majors that would best fit the internship include: Sports Marketing and Management, Business or Communications. This internship is not paid, however there is an opportunity to earn class credit and possibly commissions.

This is a sales and service internship, those seeking communications or marketing need not apply.

Internship description:
* Assist the sales/service staff with prospect list compilation and database entry.
* Assist the sales/service staff with research and maintaining our database.
* Represent the organization on game day and at other out of office promotional events.
* Make outbound phone calls and follow up with potential prospects.

Job Requirements:
* Ability to spend at least two (2) days in the office a week in addition to all Sporting KC home matches
* Flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
* Proficient in computer skills required (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
* Organized and detail oriented.
* Have reliable transportation to and from work.
