POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Accounting for Sporting Kansas City is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities to ensure the company’s accounting function is organized and efficient in accordance with relevant accounting standards. In addition, the Director of Accounting produces accurate financial and management records in support of Executive Leadership and Ownership decision making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee the accounting for Sporting Kansas City and for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external financial statements, annual audits and budgets.
  • Support and help advise Leadership and shareholders in making educated economic decisions about the future of Sporting Kansas City and its related entities.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all accounting systems, processes and data, and the value of Sporting Kansas City.
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual entering, reconciling and reporting of financial results.
  • Oversee the activities of Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring the accurate and timely management of components such as billings, timing of vendor and liability payments, cash receipts application, funding services and federal and state reports.
  • Reconcile results across twenty-five matches and events, including tickets, merchandise and concessions, with the respective league.
  • Responsible for game settlements with Major League Soccer, U.S. Soccer and CONCACAF.
  • Reconcile commissions and bonuses.
  • Support requirements for corporate income tax compliance, assuring the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns and taking full advantage of all tax code opportunities.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.

Game Day 4-3-3 Raffle Seller - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, KS)

Are you a friendly, high-energy sports fan looking to make a difference in a role within Sporting Kansas City's game day structure as a 4-3-3 raffle ticket seller? During each home game, 4-3-3 raffle tickets are sold to fans at Children's Mercy Park with the proceeds benefiting The Victory Project, whose mission it is to help all kids thrive through life’s challenges.

This position requires an outgoing personality as sellers will be asked to approach fans attending the game in the tailgating area, on the main concourse, and in the stands. This job is perfect for those wishing to give back to their community, looking to find out how non-profits function or what working for a professional sports organization is like.

This is a paid part-time seasonal position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage pre-game set up for designated raffle handheld device
  • Comfortably handle large cash transactions, and the sale and distribution of 4-3-3 raffle tickets throughout your work shift
  • Work to engage fans and spread awareness of 4-3-3 raffle program and The Victory Project by approaching fans
  • Problem solve quickly and efficiently; answer questions fans may have about the 4-3-3 raffle program
  • Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding designated sales goals per game

Hours: Approximately 4 hours each Sporting Kansas City home game. Must be at designated selling pre-game position 2 hours before kickoff, and sell through the 50th minute of each game.

POSITION SUMMARY
Sporting Kansas City internships allow college or graduate-level students to hold a temporary position within the organization, with emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in sports operations by doing a wide variety of different tasks assigned by their Team Lead.
The Stadium and Event Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast paced, behind-the-scenes environment, with the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer in Kansas City. Sporting Kansas City’s collaborative environment full of learning opportunities is designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths and reach their fullest potential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Learn how professional sports venues operate by collaborating with the Operations Team at Children’s Mercy Park with every hosted event, experiencing as many aspects of operations as possible.
  • Assist in the setup and execution of corporate meetings, weddings, holiday parties, special sporting events (i.e.; college football, U.S. Soccer, rugby, soccer clinics, etc.), large and small scale concerts, or any other applicable event.
  • Learn and participate in the organizational philosophy of a Pristine Stadium for all events.
  • Assist in the setup and execution of special, non-stadium events (not at Children’s Mercy Park), such as video shoots, Swope Park Rangers games, corporate meetings at the Lowe & Campbell building, events at the training facility, etc.
  • Perform routine Stadium and Event Operations functions for Sporting Kansas City game days, including, but not limited to, setting up and taking down tables, chairs, pipe and drape, inflatables, bike racks, stanchions, signs and field board signage.
  • Assist with game day presentations and operations such as the National Anthem, Color Guard, Military Family, halftime promotional events, coordinating giveaways, Ball Kid Coordinator, Media Will Call, Walk of Champions, Flag Kids, etc.
  • Assist with the accreditation process.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

The Systems Administrator assists in meeting Sporting Kansas City’s Information Technology needs by responding to requests, providing support and successfully completing the set-up, management and maintenance of IT related equipment.
