POSITION SUMMARY

The Sporting Kansas City Brand Ambassador promotes Sporting Kansas City to ensure a memorable fan experience.  The Brand Ambassador assists the Events Marketing Team with event planning, marketing and advertising; acting as the “face” of Sporting Kansas City and strengthening the brand with a natural connection to the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCITONS

  • Represent Sporting Kansas City, Children’s Mercy Park and other affiliates and partners as the Brand Ambassadors at events in the community year-round.
  • Set up, take down and transport the various elements of Brand Ambassador activation.
  • Engage fans by developing a rapport in a short time through natural dialogue.
  • Market Sporting Kansas City during events throughout Kansas City and its surrounding communities.
  • Create and update the database for all leads collected during events.
  • Responsible for executing grassroots marketing promotions throughout the Kansas City area at community events, festivals, parades, concerts, away game viewing parties at No Other Pub, etc.
  • Partake in game day duties including, but not limited to, assisting the Marketing Team in pre-game and halftime activities.
  • Responsible for the club’s lead capture efforts including collection, distribution and database maintenance.
  • Attend and participate in monthly meetings.

2018 Spring Internship - Creative Design - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

POSITION SUMMARY
Sporting Kansas City’s Design Intern will hold a temporary position within the company, with an emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in creative and graphic design operations for a professional sports organization.  The Design Intern assists in providing direction for the creative side of the Marketing Team by developing and executing creative concepts and branding, ensuring the organization is consistent and communicating a cohesive message through all channels of organizational and public facing entities.

  • Assist the Marketing Team in graphic and web design, as well as assist in providing creative assets.

POSITION SUMMARY
Sporting Kansas City internships allow college or graduate-level students to hold a temporary position within the organization, with emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in sports operations by doing a wide variety of different tasks assigned by their Team Lead.
The Stadium and Event Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast paced, behind-the-scenes environment, with the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer in Kansas City. Sporting Kansas City’s collaborative environment full of learning opportunities is designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths and reach their fullest potential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Learn how professional sports venues operate by collaborating with the Operations Team at Children’s Mercy Park with every hosted event, experiencing as many aspects of operations as possible.
  • Assist in the setup and execution of corporate meetings, weddings, holiday parties, special sporting events (i.e.; college football, U.S. Soccer, rugby, soccer clinics, etc.), large and small scale concerts, or any other applicable event.
  • Learn and participate in the organizational philosophy of a Pristine Stadium for all events.
  • Assist in the setup and execution of special, non-stadium events (not at Children’s Mercy Park), such as video shoots, Swope Park Rangers games, corporate meetings at the Lowe & Campbell building, events at the training facility, etc.
  • Perform routine Stadium and Event Operations functions for Sporting Kansas City game days, including, but not limited to, setting up and taking down tables, chairs, pipe and drape, inflatables, bike racks, stanchions, signs and field board signage.
  • Assist with game day presentations and operations such as the National Anthem, Color Guard, Military Family, halftime promotional events, coordinating giveaways, Ball Kid Coordinator, Media Will Call, Walk of Champions, Flag Kids, etc.
  • Assist with the accreditation process.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Position Summary

Position Summary

Sporting Kansas City’s Video Operations Intern will hold a temporary position within the company, with an emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in video and broadcast operations for a professional sports organization.  The Video Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience working with the Video Operations and Broadcast Team, collaborating in an environment full of learning opportunities designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths and reach their fullest potential.

Essential Functions

  • Enhance creativity through shooting, editing projects and creating graphics.
  • Assist in producing and creating videos for multiple aspects of the organization, including websites, broadcast and in-stadium videos.

  • Create and complete any video needs as requested by Team Leads on the Video Operations Team.
  • Attend production meetings to review scripts and ensure knowledge on the look of the show.

Sales Associate - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sporting Kansas City Sales Associate is responsible for following all sales protocols in pursuing prospects to meet and exceed group, partial packages, premium seats and season ticket sales goals.  The Sales Associate will serve as a sales and marketing contact for all clients, maintaining continued communication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Use strategic telemarketing, email and face-to-face appointments to contact potential clients.
  • Successfully complete an 8-10 month training program.
  • Attend weekly meetings and role-play training sessions conducted by the Sales Leader.
  • Build trust and a professional business relationship with all clients.
  • Prospect new clients by networking throughout the community.
  • Sell a full menu of ticket plans including, but not limited to, single games, premium inventory, season tickets, partial plans and group tickets to both business and individual consumers.
  • Consistently touch base with clients to pass along relevant information in order to convert them into ticket buyers.
  • Educate clients about potential ticket upgrades with the ultimate goal of increasing revenue.
  • Develop and plan group events to create a unique experience for a group.
  • Coordinate with clients to plan times to meet and greet during Sporting Kansas City games.
  • Host clients on the field for post-game photo opportunities.
  • Reach out to clients after game day to ensure they had the best possible fan experience.
  • Show empathy to clients who may be upset, making sure to turn tragic moments into magic moments.
  • Perform various game day duties.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

  • Set up sales tables and attend to them during the game.
  • Walk around Children’s Mercy Park to greet guests and answer questions.
  • Complete a post-game unique experience for clients, including photos on the field.
  • Follow-up on experience with clients.

Player Operations: Coach
Site Supervisor, Sporting Stripes - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

POSITION SUMMARY

Site Supervisors for Sporting Stripes are responsible for expanding the early childhood soccer program by leading and assisting in sessions based on the Sporting Stripes 2-5y curriculum.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead coaching staff in cooperation with the overall strategy and philosophy of play for children ages two to five years old.
  • Ensure coaching staff is using proper instruction for children based on their specific program, such as Parent-Child Programs (ages 2-3), Beginner Programs (ages 3-4), and Pre-Recreational Programs (ages 4-5).
  • Greeting families, leading check-in, class assignments/rosters, uniform distribution, and introduction to coach for each family registered in the program as provided by the program manager.
  • Document any issues related to coaching staff, customers, facilities, equipment etc. and relay all documentation to the program manager.
  • When necessary, in the absence of a coach or in a potentially unsafe environment, lead and assist coaching staff with 50-minute training sessions that are both fun and engaging.
  • Facilitate program policies and procedures as well as information about current sessions and future sessions as provided by the program manager
  • Drafting and confirmation, reminder, and thank you emails to be submitted to and approved by program manager prior to being sent.
  • Encouraging coaching staff to take a child-centered approach in coaching children how to enjoy the game of soccer at its earliest foundation.
  • Emphasize and promote the importance of active and healthy lifestyles.
  • Encourage, by example and through instruction, sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation.
  • Lead coaching staff on nurturing individuals and team play based on the Sporting Stripes 2-5y curriculum and model of play.
  • Oversee all equipment inventory, care and systematic return at the finish of classes.
  • Maintain professional relationships with parents, instructors, players and sponsors.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
