Account Manager, Partnership Marketing - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

 Overview of Position:

The account manager shall serve as point of contact for assigned partners and is responsible for all account activation associated with each. This person will ensure all assets of the assigned partner accounts are fulfilled to the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. This person shall work with and communicate with a diverse group of clients and visitors, as well as internal contacts at all levels; independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload. Partnership Marketing Account Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Implement, activate and track all assigned partner contracts to
ensure all contractual assets are being fulfilled, activated and
reported.
2. Build solid relationships with day to day clientele as well as
internally with all staff of Sporting Club.
3. Understand partner business objectives and utilize this
knowledge to fulfill partnership assets while growing additional
revenue opportunities.
4. Create, track, and maintain all proposals, contracts, recaps and
case studies for assigned clients detailing the progress and
success of their partnership programs and assets.
5. Compile, report, enter, collect, forecast, and track accurate
account elements, billing, fulfillment and contract information, as
well as reports pertaining to proposals, contracts, budgets, and
other account details into Marketline/Matrix.
6. Create and modify broadcast and stadium vision schematics
reports on a game by game basis.
7. Teach and mentor our seasonal interns.
8. Plan partner events as assigned which may include pre-game
receptions, clinics and tours, in-game promotions, etc.
9. Prepare department documents as needed, including game-day
partner activities spreadsheet, expense reports, account
budgets, memos, letters, contracts, spreadsheets, etc.
10. Coordinate partner road trips, as assigned, including maintaining
travel spreadsheet, producing trip itineraries and putting
together gift bags.

Required Skills:

• Professional appearance and attitude, as well as the ability to
work with others is expected.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Slide Rocket, Marketline,
and Archtics.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support multiple high level
positions.

Overview:
As a member of our Corporate Partnership sales team, the Business Development Manager will focus on selling all of the Sporting Kansas City integrated corporate partnership assets including broadcast media (TV), on-site signage, promotional opportunities, logos and marks, and on-line assets as well as those of Sporting Park, Swope Soccer Village and other Sporting Club entities. The incumbent will engage new and existing strategic partners to drive business value across all Sporting Club platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for partnership strategy, business development and management of key relationships to ensure and bring value and profitability to Sporting Club. This person will target a diverse group of important partners, renewals and prospects as well as internal contacts at all levels.  This position must support the organization’s mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, collaboration, and innovation. 

Essential duties/responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Learn and implement the sales process from introduction to closure including the following: prospect research, securing the meeting, conducting the pitch, follow-up strategies, finalizing terms and signed contract
  • Plan and execute partnership and sponsorship pitch presentations and proposals to new prospects
  • Participate in events, promotions, client entertainment and other activities as required
  • Work closely with multiple departments to ensure inventory high levels of fulfillment

  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and customer service skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Video Operations Intern - Summer 2015 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, KS)

Sporting Kansas City is looking for confident, hard-working, and innovative college or graduate- level students who are interested in an opportunity to earn course credits toward the completion of their degree, while obtaining practical experience in the world of professional sports. We have redesigned our internship program to provide valued learning opportunities, hands-on experience, and the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer here in Kansas City.

We are currently looking for a Video Operations intern for the summer of 2015. Video Operations produces the game day television broadcast, in-stadium video board show, and a variety of web content.  In this program, the intern will have the opportunity to participate in all facets of production and improve his or her knowledge of control room and production equipment and software by working day-to-day with staff at the production facility. The internship will also enable the intern to push his or her level of creativity through shooting, editing projects and creating graphics.

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter, possess strong attention to detail and take great pride in his/her work. The internship will challenge the applicant’s ability to multitask in a busy environment. The intern will be given every opportunity to learn all aspects of production, so the intern must be focused on broadening his or her video production skillset.

The intern will intern with Sporting Kansas City for the number of hours required to earn his/her academic credit.  The internship will begin at the conclusion of the 2015 spring semester and conclude before the start of the 2015 fall semester.  Exact dates of the internship are negotiable.  The intern must be available for home matches throughout the duration of the internship. The intern will be asked to commit to regularly scheduled office hours during the week and occasional nights and weekends. These hours are also negotiable.
