Account Executive - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

Position Summary

The Sporting Kansas City Account Executive is responsible for following all sales protocols in pursuing prospects to meet and exceed group, partial packages, premium seats and season ticket sales goals.  The Account Executive will service as the primary sales and marketing contact for all clients, maintaining continued communication.

 Essential Functions

  • Use strategic telemarketing, email and face-to-face appointments to contact potential clients.
  • Build trust and a professional business relationship with all clients.
  • Prospect new clients by networking throughout the community.
  • Sell a full menu of ticket plans including, but not limited to, single games, premium inventory, season tickets, partial plans and group tickets to both business and individual consumers.

Position Summary

The Sporting Kansas City Brand Ambassador promotes Sporting Kansas City to ensure a memorable fan experience. The Brand Ambassador assists the Events Marketing Team with event planning, marketing and advertising; acting as the “face” of Sporting Kansas City and strengthening the brand with a natural connection to the community.

Essential Functions

  • Represent Sporting Kansas City, Children’s Mercy Park and other affiliates and partners as the Brand Ambassadors at events in the community yearround.

Position Summary

The Club Host’s primary responsibility is to provide assistance to support Sporting Kansas City’s vision, mission and goals through planned work activity, while additionally providing support to all associates, guests and vendors.  The Club Host creates and disseminates professional and timely communications to all individuals, as well as graciously greets and directs guests, both in person and on the telephone.

Fall '16 Ticket Sales/Service Internship - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

Sporting Kansas City is looking for energetic interns with a flexible schedule (approximately 15-20 hours a week) who enjoy sports, sales and entertainment. Interns should be available during the Fall (approximately mid-August to early-November).


In order to qualify for the Sporting KC Sales and Service Internship a student must:

(1) Have junior or senior standing and be enrolled in a four-year degree program, or be enrolled in a graduate program and be eligible to receive course credit for the internship.

(2) Have a current cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

(3) Demonstrate high levels of leadership, confidence and innovation as compared to others in their peer group.

Any major is welcome but majors that would best fit the internship include: Sports Marketing and Management, Business or Communications. This internship is not paid, however there is an opportunity to earn class credit and possibly commissions.

This is a sales and service internship, those seeking communications or marketing need not apply.

Video Operations Internship - Fall 2016 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, KS)

Sporting Kansas City is looking for confident, hard-working, and innovative college or graduate- level students who are interested in an opportunity to earn course credits toward the completion of their degree, while obtaining practical experience in the world of professional sports.  We have redesigned our internship program to provide valued learning opportunities, hands-on experience, and the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer here in Kansas City.

We are currently looking for Video Operations interns for the 2016 Fall Semester.  Video Operations produces the game day television broadcast, in-stadium video board show, and a variety of web content.  In this program, the intern will have the opportunity to participate in all facets of production and improve his or her knowledge of control room and production equipment and software by working day-to-day with staff at the production facility. The internship will also enable the intern to push his or her level of creativity through shooting, editing projects and creating graphics.

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter, possess strong attention to detail and take great pride in his/her work. The internship will challenge the applicant’s ability to multitask in a busy environment. The intern will be given every opportunity to learn all aspects of production, so the intern must be focused on broadening his or her video production skillset.

The intern shall intern with Sporting Kansas City for the number of hours required to earn his/her academic credit.  Dates of the internships are negotiable.  The intern must be available for home matches throughout the duration of the internship. The intern will be asked to commit to regularly scheduled office hours during the week and occasional nights and weekends. These hours are also negotiable.  This is an unpaid internship.

REQUIREMENTS

·         At the time of the internship, have completed at least your sophomore year at a four-year accredited college institution or be enrolled in an accredited graduate program.

·         Must provide proof that you will receive credit through the internship toward the completion of your degree

·         Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (based on 4.0 scale)

·         Available for home matches and other events throughout the internship session (primarily evenings and weekends)

·         Some experience shooting with broadcast-level cameras (Panasonic P2 format) a plus

·         Some experience editing with Final Cut Pro or equivalent a plus (additional experience with Photoshop and/or After Effects also a plus)

·         Passion for telling stories in sports (familiarity with soccer and Sporting Kansas City a plus)
