SUMMARY

The individual who fills the role of Graphic Designer will be charged with bringing the Seattle Sounders FC visual identity to life across a wide variety of channels, ensuring consistency of the club’s brand. This individual will be tasked with executing creative design for internal departments, external agency partners, and corporate partners, among others. The ideal candidate will focus on solving problems for the benefit of the club and be imaginative in thinking, collaborative in process, and innovative in approach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with planning and creation for all design initiatives, including marketing materials, advertising campaigns, digital and social, logo development, in-stadium signage, and corporate partnership assets, among others

  • Manage design projects from creative brief to finished output

  • Produce work that ensures brand consistency and efficient project lifecycles

  • Assist in the development of advertising and marketing campaigns

  • Create visual identities for both internal and corporate partner events and programs

  • Assist in reviewing and approving design assets submitted by corporate partners

  • Manage internal and external use of logos to ensure brand integrity

  • Assist Senior Graphic Designer in providing art direction for photographers, agencies, and vendors

  • Prepare images for print through color correction and photo retouching

  • Contribute to the marketing team’s overall strategy and success in team meetings, cross-department meetings, etc.

  • Execute various tasks on matchdays and support club initiatives and special projects as needed, including special events

  • Assist with real-time creation of graphics and GIFs for coverage of the first team’s matches

  • Provide creative thinking to help solve business problems for a variety of stakeholders

  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferably in graphic design

  • Minimum four (4) years relevant work experience, preferably in sports marketing

  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Portfolio must demonstrate a good eye for composition, creativity, color and legibility  

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when needed

  • Well organized with ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated experience with marketing professional sports teams/intercollegiate athletics programs

  • Experience in art direction including an ability to provide succinct creative feedback

  • Demonstrated experience in print design with layout for sales and marketing collateral

  • Demonstrated experience in web design with layout for email, web and social media graphics

  • Proven ability to interact and brainstorm concepts within a team setting

  • Willingness to receive creative and constructive criticism in order to produce a high quality product

  • Great communicator, professional in presentation and able to work with multiple stakeholders and personalities

  • A good understanding of print production processes

  • Good problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Solid writing/proofing skills a plus

  • Strong typography skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience creating motion graphics, specifically in Adobe After Effects or Photoshop

  • Demonstrated ability and hands on experience with web applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery and API’s

  • Solid understanding of responsive web development and device limitations

  • Demonstrated ability to convert Photoshop/Illustrator designs to HTML/CSS

  • Solid understanding of practical benefits and limitations of Internet technologies (Flash, Javascript, CSS, video)

  • Experience working within a responsive web environment and how to create a fluid design across breakpoints.

  • Copywriting experience

  • Broad working knowledge of soccer and familiarity with Major League Soccer

Manager of Digital Content - Seattle Sounders FC (Seattle, WA)

Position Summary

The Manager of Digital Content will serve as the primary generator and editor of the day-to-day editorial and feature content for soundersfc.com. The ideal candidate will have relevant writing and/or reporting experience, the ability to generate compelling story ideas and deliver content across multiple platforms on tight deadlines.

A passion for soccer and an aptitude to creatively articulate the game and its associated elements is expected, as is basic familiarity with Major League Soccer and its historic and contemporary storylines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As directed by the Director of Digital Media, provide features and the majority of news-related content for soundersfc.com

  • Provide regular entries about first team practices, games, roster moves and trade possibilities, including breaking news

  • In collaboration with the entire Digital Media team, help create weekly editorial plans for print, social media and video needs, as well as Matchday obligations

  • Assist in copy editing submissions from contributing staff and freelance writers, including Matchdays and S2 Matchdays

  • Regularly create engaging social media posts highlighting soundersfc.com content as well as club initiatives such as ticket sales, community events and corporate partnership activations

  • Assist with management and execution of the club’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat

  • Assist with content marketing idea generation, with focus on building the club brand and creating additional revenue opportunities for sponsors and partners

  • Provide on-camera or podcast duties, if applicable

  • Assist in conducting player and coach on-camera interviews at practices, games and special events (i.e. MLS SuperDraft)

  • Develop a strong professional relationship with players, broadcasters, media, soccer operations and front office personnel

  • Assist with the backend management of soundersfc.com including posting articles and videos, creating web pages, and more

  • Assist with organization and maintenance of digital media assets including photos and videos

  • Ensure consistency of tone, ‘voice’ and messaging throughout all content

  • Assist in tracking metrics for all content initiatives and report to the digital team to analyze and evaluate efforts

  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field – i.e. marketing, journalism, multimedia, communications etc.

  • 3-5 years’ experience managing, designing or developing content for high trafficked web property, plus at least 2 years of relevant writing or reporting experience required, ideally in major college or professional sports, preferably soccer

  • Strong writing background required, professional sports journalism experience preferred

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Adobe Creative Suite [Photoshop] and proven experience with a CMS and HTML 5 required

  • Proven ability to create innovative and engaging social media content

  • Proven ability to deliver fresh, creative content ideas and collaborate with an editorial team

  • Analytical, with an understanding and appetite for media analytics and placement metrics.

  • Organized with experience juggling multiple projects simultaneously and ability to meet and perform under tight deadlines, and to think and communicate clearly under pressure.

  • Spirit of teamwork, collaboration, and enthusiasm

Seattle Sounders FC Fan Relations Representative - Seattle Sounders FC (Seattle, WA)

SUMMARY

Responsible for long-term retention and growth of our Season Ticket Members, which includes the service, support and maintenance of assigned customer accounts and meeting all pre-determined individual and department service and sales performance goals. Responsible for embracing the organization’s mission and providing excellent service to all fans that will not only excite them now, but encourage them to continue their support of Seattle Sounders FC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

·       Maximize Season Ticket Member renewal percentage by providing outstanding customer service to assigned accounts via all touch points.

·       Proactively build relationships with season ticket members

·       Handle all forms of inbound communication and be able to address and answer all questions, comments or concerns in a timely fashion

·       Be informed and communicate common customer feedback to help initiate changes and foster a Fans First Culture

·       Responsible for new business sales goal that is obtained by generating referrals, upselling current accounts, Season Ticket Memberships, Groups and Premium Products

·       Educate account base on season ticket member benefits

·       Update and maintain accurate records in CRM regarding all renewals, touch points and sales

·       Attend, plan and participate in STM events, experiences and other benefits

·       Match day duties include, but not limited to: in-seat visits to Season Ticket Members, executing STM events and match day experiences, managing customer service outlets including the Box Office and phone lines, and addressing any Season Ticket Member problems or concerns.

·       Coordinate with all departments to better enhance the fan’s match day experience

Staff Accountant - Seattle Sounders FC (Seattle, WA)

SUMMARY

The position is responsible for the accounts payable process, including being the main administrator for the Concur system, the accounts receivable process, revenue recognition entries, and completing banking transactions. The Staff Accountant will also provide support for any additional needs of the Finance department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Work as the main administrator of the Concur system including assigning invoices to users, addressing user questions, and updating vendor, coding, and user information as necessary.

  • Create and track invoices for AR, prepare a weekly AR aging, and follow-up on outstanding amounts due as necessary.

  • Record revenue recognition entries and review for completeness and accuracy.

  • Review and record daily banking transactions daily and prepare bank account reconciliations at month-end.

  • Prepare admissions tax, business and occupation tax, and labor and industries tax filings.

  • Assist with reviewing department budgets on a monthly basis.  Identify and research budget variances.

  • Assist with month end and internal financial statement preparation by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger and from departments.

  • Assist with year-end audit.

  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting accounting transactions.

  • Other administrative duties including, but not limited to, filing documents and preparing process documents for accounting and administrative policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - None

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance from accredited four-year college or university

  • CPA Preferred

  • Twelve months to 2 years’ professional work experience in Accounting/Finance

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Knowledge of Quickbooks Online and Concur software a plus
