Game Day Staff - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

As a member of the Game Day Staff with the Portland Timbers you will have the distinct opportunity to be part of our 2017 MLS Season. This role is open to recent college graduates or those who are looking for part-time gameday-specific work.

·         Assist with game day operations that include various roles for each match

·         Flexible schedule during MLS season with availability week days, weekend, and/or holidays

Facility Operations/Security: Custodial/Housekeeping
Housekeeping - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

Job Summary/General Description: The environmental service worker maintains environmental standards within established policies and procedures of Providence Park. The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain sidewalks, restrooms, offices, locker rooms, press boxes and conference rooms.

The position follows standard practices and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements. In addition, the Environmental Services Department is in charge of the implementation and the continued practice of sustainability initiatives.

We are currently hiring for our Housekeeping Crew.

This is an irregular part time, seasonal, non-exempt position.

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:

  • Dusts furniture, stadium seating, and equipment and mop floors.
  • Polishes and cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.
  • Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, shampooers and related environmental service equipment.
  • Wet-mops rooms, halls and other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.
  • Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.
  • Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags or containers.
  • Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
  • Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of restrooms.
  • Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment and assists with other cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Use two way radios to communicate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous Housekeeping experience a plus

Schedule Availability: Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment : Continuously standing and walking on concrete/ flat surfaces or stairs. Noisy environment with large groups of people. Must perform in high-stress and fast-paced environment in an expedient manner for sustained periods. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This position will work in large facilities indoor/outdoor, close quarters in hazardous work areas.

Partnership Marketing Manager - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

Partnership Marketing Manager under the direction of the Vice President, Partnership Marketing & Suites serves as a key client interface for corporate partners. The main responsibilities of this position are to manage client communication and contract fulfillment for the Portland Timbers, Portland Thorns FC, Timbers 2 and Providence Park . This includes sponsorship inventory, including signage, traditional media, electronic media, print, tickets/suites/hospitality, community relation events and promotions.

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day relationships and fulfillment of partner contracts
  • Manage logistics for client activation on game day including stadium wide give away, on-site activations, VIP hospitality & promotions
  • Manage implementation plans to track partner fulfillment
  • Facilitate year-end recaps and review with existing partners while identifying additional opportunities in regards to the renewal process
  • Represent Partnership Marketing in all internal Game Operations meetings to plan, communicate and execute partners activities
  • Brainstorming & development of sponsorship programs and promotions
  • Attend all Timbers & Thorns home games and select outside events (T2, appearances, etc.)
  • Event management and planning of Timbers, Thorns FC and T2 events (ie: TCA events, Kickoff luncheons, etc.)
  • Manage traffic for all sponsor media for radio & TV
  • Work with other internal departments to facility understanding and compliance with promotions and packages that have been sold to clients
  • Perform other tasks and projects as requested

Requirements:

  • Adept at client management and account management
  • Proactive, customer service oriented skills; ability to anticipate and respond to needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to maintain cooperative relationships with all levels of individuals, both outside and inside the organization
  • Ability to coordinate and juggle numerous priorities and projects and meet deadlines without sacrificing creative effectiveness
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and work-related events

Education:

  • Business degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college and a minimum of two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience

Social Media Coordinator - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

As the Social Media Coordinator with the Portland Timbers you will have the distinct opportunity to be part of our 2017 MLS Season.

As the Social Media Coordinator, you will help manage the day-to-day elements of the team’s social media platforms. You will work closely with the team’s Ticket Sales, Sponsorship, Community Relations and Communications departments, and be responsible for executing a significant portion of all club driven social content.

You will report directly to the Director of Marketing, and work in conjunction with the Director of Digital Media. This position will be required to be present at all home matches for all of our teams and Providence Park events as scheduled, as well as be available for all road matches.


Responsibilities:
• In conjunction with the club’s Marketing group, create and execute the Timbers annual social media strategy, while assist, as needed, with our other teams social media.

• Develop and post content across all team social media platforms and, as needed, to the club website.

• Serve as an integral member of the digital coverage team during home and away matches, creating and executing social content that helps tell the story of the match.

• Oversee fan engagement and communication on club social platforms, providing customer service, answering questions and seeking opportunities to connect with supporters.

• Act as assistant editor, and be “on-call” to update web platforms during home and away matches, and other ancillary events.

• Be a creative thinker and help devise unique digital and social programming.

• Manage administrational duties for the marketing department internship program.

• Serve as quality control agent for all team digital platforms.

• Be able to effectively concept and write engaging articles for site(s).

• Closely monitor emerging digital and social media tools/trends, and work to integrate them into the annual plan, as appropriate.

• Help manage digital advertising campaigns.


Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization.

• Ability to manage multiple projects with strong prioritization skills, in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premier.

• Adaptable and able to make changes quickly and efficiently

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within a team environment

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required


Experience:
• Minimum of two to four years of experience working in a similar field or position

Street Team Responsibilities:

·         Engage prospective and current fans of the Portland Timbers in a professional and positive manner through various promotions, events and marketing efforts

·         Increase awareness, interest and fan support for the Portland Timbers through the distribution of promotional materials and activities

·         Assist in ticket sales initiatives that contribute to the growth of the Portland Timbers database

·         Assist in generating brand awareness about the Timbers community platform - Stand Together

·         Assist in sponsorship activations outside of Providence Park on game day

Player Operations: Coach
Youth Soccer Camp Coach - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:

• Come to camp prepared with well thought out station drills according to your coaching assignment (all drills are listed in the Camp Manual)

• Arrive 45 minutes before camp on the first day and 30 minutes early for the remainder of camp

• Assist Camp Director with check-in, check-out, and gear distribution 

• Set up your station before camp begins

• Assist the Camp Director with collecting the camp gear at the end of each camp day

• Engage with campers during your 30-45 minutes before camp

• Follow and support the Camp Director’s instructions and schedule throughout camp

• Assist Camp Director with bathroom, snack, and lunch breaks for campers – as assigned

• Be back to camp on time (by 1 PM) following your 1-hour lunchbreak

• Complete evaluations or certificates for each camper in your main group based on the age group you are assigned

Secondary Responsibilities:

• You may be asked to provide support to other departments within the Portland Timbers organization in regards to additional coaching opportunities/events

Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years-old

• USSF “F” Coaching License – or better

• Must be available to work a minimum of 3 camps throughout the summer (June – August)

• Coaching staff must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time

• Must be able to provide your own transportation to and from camps

Education:

• Coaching license required, as stated above

Preferred Experience:

• Previous coaching experience

• High-level (professional, collegiate, academy) playing experience

• Previous work with children

• CPR Certified
