Bethlehem Steel FC is looking for passionate and dedicated game day volunteers for the upcoming 2017 season. As part of Bethlehem Steel’s game day volunteers, you will get hands-on experience of how a professional soccer game runs and operates. This is also a great way to network with executives in the Sport Management industry! These volunteer hours can be counted towards school Industry Hours, community service hours, networking opportunities or sign up just for the love of game!

The mission of the Philadelphia Union Foundation is to provide opportunities for children through the power of relationships to offer transformational change in the areas of education, community, health, and recreation.

SUMMARY:

The Philadelphia Union is looking for high-energy, motivated sellers to join our 50/50 raffle sales team for the remainder of the 2015 season.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approach fans pre-game and in-game to explain the details of the 50/50 raffle program and to sell raffle tickets.
  • Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets, following program requirements.
  • Answer questions fans may have about the program.
  • Turn in all cash and tickets to Coordinator several times throughout and at the end of game-day.
  • Hours: Arrive 2.0 hours pre-kick. Shift ends 20-30 minutes after the game ends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Director, Corporate Partnerships is primarily responsible for generating new business revenue with local, regional and national companies through the sale of integrated sponsorship packages of Philadelphia Union assets. We don’t expect you to be able to have the foot skills of our players, but we do expect you to provide quality service to your 500+ ticket accounts.  Throughout the season, you will be responsible for making quality touchpoints with your personal collection of Union fans to ensure their ticket package experience is everything they thought it would be and more.

Just like Jim Curtin and our Union coaching staff, we have an experienced group of off the Pitch coaches to help you become that All-Star service professional we know you can be!

MAKING THE MOST OUT OF A GREAT SITUATION

Here’s the great news, you already have an existing list of clients you will be working with.  Along with keeping them happy and renewing their ticket package each season, we are looking for our new hires to be able to leverage their book of business into even more revenue.  Whether it be more seats, additional games, seats closer to the court, or a cross-sell for a group outing or suite, additional revenue is the name of the game!

MAIN DUTIES

  1. Provide high level of Customer Service to over 500+ season ticket accounts

  2. Assist Ticket Sales Representative in managing customer relationship

  3. Possess a high knowledge of various aspects of a Season Ticket Membership

  4. Make 50+ phone calls and touch points a day, and 7-10 touch points per season ticket account during the season

  5. Create and execute seasonal plan for season ticket renewals in order to achieve goal

  6. Involvement in game-day activities as well as various Philadelphia Union promotional events and outside functions such as youth soccer events, pub partner events, etc.

  7. Develop and create new ideas to further enhance fan gameday and season ticket membership experience

  8. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Fan Service

TRAIN LIKE AN MLS ALL-STAR

Whether you are a top goalkeeper in the MLS like Andre Blake or you work in our Ticket Sales Department, the Union believe in constant improvement. We believe in training, training and more training! Our leadership team will be working with you every step of the way to ensure you become a superstar and take home all the hardware at the league awards ceremony!

You’ll be coached by a leadership team that has a combined 40+ years of sports sales and management experience. They will be conducting your training and teaching you everything you need to know to perform at a championship level.

THE PITCH

This is a great launching point to begin your career in sports ticket sales. You'll be making phone calls, scheduling meetings, and attending events with qualified Union ticket prospects to sell them ticket packages. You’ll develop and manage relationships while providing exemplary customer service. The majority of your time will be spent in the office but you may work various community and in-stadium events along with all of our 18+ home games. We don’t expect you to already understand how to sell tickets. We’ll provide you with first class training and support to help you be successful.

MAIN DUTIES

1. Make 90+ phone calls per day to qualified prospects with a focus of generating full season and partial season ticket sales
2. Manage relationships of both ticket package accounts you sell as well as inherited accounts
3. Be available to work up to 18+ home games
4. Other duties as assigned

Marketing Analytics Coordinator - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

OVERVIEW:

The marketing analytics coordinator will be expected to use data analysis skills to help grow the Union’s revenue base and fan base.  Projects will focus on marketing data analysis and marketing automation projects. This position will be expected to help grow revenues generated through marketing campaigns, increase the size of our fan base, and increase general brand awareness.  This position will report into the Senior Director of Business Analytics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary analytics contact for the marketing department
  • Build and execute email marketing campaigns with a focus on increasing revenue and fan engagement. Knowledge of HTML programming is required
  • Analyze effectiveness of email marketing campaigns. Produce campaign performance reports and develop testing plans that will optimize email campaigns
  • Manage marketing automation programs like cart abandonment and nurturing campaigns
  • Creating personalized marketing campaigns using fan profile and segmentation data
  • Use web and social analytics tools to better understand customers and purchasing patterns
  • Oversee lead generation campaigns. Develop creative campaign ideas as well as implement the technology required to execute these campaigns
  • Help with market research projects. Projects will include both primary research (creating and analyzing surveys) as well as secondary research (data provided by Scarborough)
  • Assist analytics staff with supporting additional departments/projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to write HTML code for both websites and emails
  • Adobe Campaign/Neolane or equivalent email marketing/marketing automation platform

Philadelphia Union Academy Operations Coordinator - Philadelphia Union Academy (Wayne, PA)

Responsible for providing, with directive from the Academy Director and Director of Operations, effective administration of Philadelphia Union Academy’s day-to-day operational and administrative needs, including but not limited to administering Union Academy registrations, travel logistics, game day needs, and data management. This position will provide clerical and administrative support to the Philadelphia Union Academy Director at his discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement, oversee, and communicate a transportation plan for YSC Academy and Union Academy that manages transportation to and from Bethlehem Steel training sessions
  • Coordinate with stakeholders (Philadelphia Union, Union Youth, and YSC Academy) to manage school absence and necessary course work
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Philadelphia Union Academy Director
  • Work with Union Academy Equipment Staff to complete and manage all apparel and equipment needs
  • Manage Philadelphia Union Academy Residency program invoicing, paperwork, and travel. Arrange house parent meetings
  • Ensure software systems are populated and up-to-date. Support staff in onboarding any new software systems
  • Manage administration of Philadelphia Union Academy team and individual travel
  • Provide general team coordination for match day operations
  • Ensure completion of all registration and player paperwork for the Academy, including but not limited to Development Academy and NPL, and foreign athlete immigration. Additionally complete coaches registration and licensing
  • Effectively communicate to all Union Academy families regarding game day expectations, travel itineraries and requirements, and any additional schedule or organizational updates

Player Operations: Coach
Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach (Zone 1) - Philadelphia Union Academy (Wayne, PA)

SUMMARY   

Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach is responsible for coaching Union youth programs at the behest of the Union Academy Director, with a focus on the Union Juniors Pre-Academy (U8-U11) program. Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach will work throughout the elite development platform of Philadelphia Union’s renowned youth program to supplement their Zone 1 responsibilities and to ensure integration of methodology. Additional responsibilities include coaching other Union Youth programs as directed by Academy Director, and program administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary goal for all Union Youth staff is to develop, prepare, and identify players for the Union Academy while implementing an environment that develops sustained love of the game for all participants

  • Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach is primarily responsible as a Head Coach of one of the Pre-Academy age groups (U8-U11) and in coaching additional Pre-Academy and Academy training sessions at the Union Academy Director’s discretion

  • Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach will help implement the Union Academy’s curriculum and technical methodology for the Pre-Academy training sessions and matches to ensure seamless integration for players into the Academy and throughout the Union’s developmental pyramid

  • This position will be assigned to coach additional Philadelphia Union Youth’s programs, such as training clinics and camps

  • Philadelphia Union Academy Staff Coach will support Union scouting through Pre-Academy I.D. sessions or related programs

  • Attend scheduled meetings as requested by the Union Youth or Union Academy Directors

  • Over the course of the Union Pre-Academy season, coaching and/or assisting with other Union programs as directed by the Philadelphia Union Academy Director and/or the Philadelphia Union Sporting Director

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional playing experience (strongly preferred)

  • Youth coaching experience and desire to grow as a coach and obtain top USSF licenses

Administration/General Management: General Management/Profit & Loss
Philadelphia Union Youth General Manager - Philadelphia Union Youth Development (Wayne, PA)

The primary responsibility of the Philadelphia Union Youth General Manager is to create, implement and oversee Philadelphia Union’s youth oriented outreach programming in an effort to increase Philadelphia Union brand engagement, generate revenue to help subsidize Philadelphia Union's Academy, and enhance player identification and developmental best practices in the region. The General Manager is responsible for all revenue-generating youth programs for the Philadelphia Union organization and will seek to increase Philadelphia Union's youth-centric partnerships through such community outreach programs. The General Manager will report to the Philadelphia Union Chief Business Officer, Director of Operations and the Philadelphia Union Academy Director on technical and staffing-related items. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Academy

  • Manage and operate Philadelphia Union Pre-Academy (U8 – U11)
  • Hire and oversee staff for Pre-Academy
  • Ideate and implement new aspects of the Pre-Academy to maintain Philadelphia Union’s status as a youth soccer program at the forefront of American youth soccer development
  • Liaise with Philadelphia Union Academy Director of Operations to seamlessly integrate the Pre-Academy with the Philadelphia Union Academy
  • Establish and maintain partnerships throughout the Greater Philadelphia region to execute friendly matches, field/facility rentals, and expansion of the Pre-Academy

  • Supervise, implement, and grow existing youth programs including Pro Days, player development program, camps, and kids classes
  • Hire and oversee staff to effectively execute and expand youth programs and maintain the elite quality of Philadelphia Union youth programs
  • Create and deliver new programs in the youth sector
  • Develop and maintain partnerships throughout the region necessary for execution of programming (i.e. facilities, youth clubs, townships, etc.)

Administration

  • Manage the P&L for the Philadelphia Union Youth Business Division
  • Craft reports for the YSC Chief Financial Officer and Philadelphia Union Chief Business Officer
  • Hire and oversee administrative support staff for the Philadelphia Union Youth Division
  • Liaise with Philadelphia Union front office on any and all needs relating to the Philadelphia Union Youth Development program
  • Create presentations for Philadelphia Union Board of Governors and/or other internal and external partners of the Philadelphia Union Youth Division
  • In conjunction with the Philadelphia Union Youth Academy Director of Operations, develop and maintain a coaches’ calendar and communicate staff expectations
  • Work with YSC facility manager on annual calendar

Other

  • Promote and expand a club-affiliation program with regional and national clubs in conjunction with the Philadelphia Union Academy Director
  • Establish partnerships with organizations key to growth for the Philadelphia Union Youth Development Program

 REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-8+ years in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays as directed

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Intimate understanding of the local Philadelphia youth soccer environment (preferred)
  • Organizational skills and ability to drive projects from concept to execution
  • Strong people skills and ability to effectively represent a positive image for the Philadelphia Union soccer and to build customer relationships
  • Experience managing and leading a team
  • P&L experience

The Union brought on former US National Team Member, Earnie Stewart, as their new Sport Director before last season.  The first thing Earnie asked the Union Coaching Staff was, “How do you want to play?”  As we build our ticket sales staff, we’re thinking the same way, and we want our Season Ticket Sales Team to be a team of sharks!  We envision a team that continually attacks from all angles whenever given the chance.  On the field, the Union will be seeking goals.  This team will be seeking Season Ticket Revenue!

1. Make 70+ phone calls per day to qualified prospects with a focus of generating full season and partial season ticket sales
2. Manage relationships of both ticket package accounts you sell as well as inherited accounts
3. Be available to work up to 18+ home games
4. Other duties as assigned
