POSITION TITLE: 50/50 Raffle Game Day Staff
DEPARTMENT: The Philadelphia Union Foundation
REPORTS TO: Manager, Philadelphia Union Foundation & Accounts Payable Coordinator

The mission of the Philadelphia Union Foundation is to provide opportunities for children through the power of relationships to offer transformational change in the areas of education, community, health, and recreation.
The Philadelphia Union Foundation is a registered 501c3.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Philadelphia Union Foundation is looking for high-energy, motivated sellers to join our 50/50 raffle sales team for the 2014 season.
JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:
• Approach fans pre-game and in-game to explain the details of the 50/50 raffle program.
• Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets, following program requirements.
• Answer questions fans may have about the program.
• Turn in all cash and tickets to Coordinator several times throughout and at the end of gameday. •

  • Hours: Arrive 2.5 hours pre-kick. Shift ends after all money is accounted for.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Prior experience handling cash
• Ability to interact positively with large fan base
• Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
• Above average verbal communication skills
• Strong sales skills

Must be highly self motivated and outgoing.

• Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays if necessary.
• Having a flexible schedule that allows for working some or all weekday, day games is a must

Sales & Marketing: Sponsorship Services/Activation
Coordinator, Partnership Marketing - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

 

Summary:

 

The Coordinator,  Partnership Marketing oversees all partner related activities including activation and execution of all contractually obligated sponsorship elements. This person will build strong relationships with current partners to aid in the renewal and retention of sponsors and work to continuously increase the level of service and support offered by the sponsorship department to corporate partners.  This role will also assist the Premium Seating function to help maintain and grow those relationships.
 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Partnership Marketing:

 

• Responsible for organizing, maintaining, and fulfilling corporate sponsor agreements and their outlined contractual obligations

 

• Will be assigned partnership accounts to fully manage, handle special requests and execute marketing strategies and initiatives of the client

 

• Responsible for working with sponsors and/or outside agencies to fulfill all corporate partnerships elements

 

• Responsible to coordinate and maintain all inventory management

 

• Create end of year season recaps for clients and assists in the renewal process

 

• Research new opportunities to help grow the business of each corporate partner by keeping current with goals, objectives and the competitive corporate landscape in the market

 

• Assist sales team with all sales presentations for prospecting partners

 

• Responsible for working and attending team events, promotions, and venue events along with planning and managing partner events
• Must be able to work during all home games; Multiple Game Day duties, including: Pre-Game Entertainment  and activation, Halftime, Premium Items - procurement/distribution

 

• Other duties as assigned by Manager

 

 Premium Seating:

 

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Premium Seating department including customer service, benefit fulfillment and gameday operations

 

• Work closely with other departments within the organization on Premium Seating related programs including but not limited to game operations, community relations, public relations, tickets sales, marketing and facility operations

 

• Visit Premium Season Ticket Holders on game days to maintain relationships

 

• Any other duties as assigned by the Manager

 

 

 

Qualifications/Education Required:

 

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Two to four (2 – 4) years of experience in a similar work environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and detailed orientated; strong communication skills
• Willingness to work beyond normal business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as required
• Competency in social media, grassroots marketing and general marketing
• Must demonstrate ability to work well both independently and as part of a team; must have a positive attitude
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients and facility management
• Desire to learn and grow professionally in the career of sales and service in sports and entertainment

Spring 2015- Soccer Development Intern - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

Soccer Development Intern:

Interns will be responsible for assisting with youth developmental programs. This internship program will provide interns an opportunity to gain valuable experience not only learning the day-to-day tasks in running a successful soccer program, but will provide valuable field experience as well. Interns will play key roles in administering Philadelphia Union tournaments, clinics, along with promotion for winter and summer programs. During the internship you will have the opportunity to be involved in the creation of innovative Union events that will assist in driving relevance in the market place.

Interns will be asked to work some nights and weekends. Applicants should possess basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and communication skills. Basic understanding of the game is important.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Marketing of developmental programs
• Research of the youth soccer market in the surrounding market
• Operations of Tournaments & Clinics
• Preparation and assistance of on-field operations on Game Day (will include but not limited to)
o Field Crew

Spring 2015- Team Operations Intern - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

Team Operations Intern:


Interns will be responsible for assisting the Team Coordinator and Equipment Managers in day-to-day operations as well as front office operations, games & events support. Internships with the Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Players and Staff in all aspects of travel
• Union internships are un-paid, travel to and from the stadium and office is not reimbursed.
• Local housing required.

Ticket Sales & Fan Services Intern:

Interns will be responsible for assisting the ticket sales and fan services staff front office in day-to-day operations. Interns will be exposed to front office operations and general marketing operations as well. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.

• Conduct Market Research to develop sales leads for the department
• Assist in Pre-Season preparations in Sales Department and Box Office

• Aid in execution of local Youth Soccer Partnerships
• Aid in execution of local Pub Partnerships
• Work with the Supporters Club in Gameday preparation and operations
• Provide friendly customer service at Union home games and other Union events

Spring 2015- Union Academy Operations Intern - Philadelphia Union (Wayne, PA)

Union Academy Operations Intern:

• Responsibilities include operational planning, set-up, and management for Philadelphia Union Youth Academy Events
• Coordinate operational staffing needs and serve as liaison to all game day operational entities including, but not limited to visiting team, officials, police, EMS, ticket takers, ushers, guest services, grounds, housekeeping, facilities management, emergency management, technical services, information technology, disability management, and parking and traffic
• Create and maintain operational publications and policies such as inclement weather policies, emergency medical response plans, heat management plans, visiting team and official’s guide
• Additional responsibilities include creating, distributing, and managing credentials and parking passes for regular and post-season game days and developing and managing game operations
• Assist Athletic Facilities Department in daily maintenance and upkeep of athletic facilities
• Hire, train, and supervise volunteer work force responsible for assisting in daily operation of athletic facilities and game operations department
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements:
Work requires analytical, communication and organizational skills. Available for weekend events.

Volunteer - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

The Philadelphia Union is looking for motivated individuals to volunteer for Union special events and home games! For Game Day volunteers call time is usually between 3 to 4 hours before kick-off. Positions will vary from game to game! It is great experience if you are looking to increase your knowledge about professional sport game operations.
