Accounting Intern:

Interns will be responsible for assisting the front office in day-to-day operations. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office. Interns may be occasionally asked to work nights and weekends. Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process
• Assist in monthly expense tracking
• Prepare actual vs. budget analysis
• Perform special projects as assigned
• Perform other general front office duties as required

Athletic Training Intern:

The strength and conditioning intern will take an active role in all phases of the strength and conditioning program. He/She is expected to act in a professional manner at all times while representing the Philadelphia Union. The position will require that the person chosen for the job is available daily from 9-2pm. Monday- Saturday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist Head ATC and assist ATC with pre training and pre game set up of training room and fields
• Assist staff ATC’s with treatments and rehabilitation of athletes.
• Ensuring all athletes are hydrated during games/training sessions
• Maintaining a clean training room
• Assisting in ordering of training room supplies
• Assist team strength and conditioning coach
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, and other staff members
• Coverage of college soccer a plus

Internships: Any Internship

Box Office Intern:

Interns will be responsible for assisting the box office in day-to-day operations as well as front office operations and games and events support. Internships with the Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences. Box office experience is a plus but is not required for this position. Interns will be trained on the Paciolan ticketing system and be exposed to various forms of fan services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sell tickets to walk-up customers at the PPL Park Box Office
• Fulfill all internal and external ticket orders
• Learn the Paciolan ticketing system
• Prepare the box office for game day and event on-sales
• Supervise game day sellers
• Set up and breakdown will call
• Provide a high level of customer service at Union home games and other PPL Park events
• Duties and events to be assigned with other departments as needed
• Other box office responsibilities as assigned

Communications Intern:

Interns will be responsible for assisting the marketing and communications departments in day-to-day operations. Interns will also be asked to help with general front office operations and projects. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office. Interns will be asked to work some nights and weekends.

Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Press box runner/game quotes
• Retrieval of news clips
• Upkeep of Media list and various activity charts

Community Relations Intern:

Interns are responsible for assisting in coordinating community outreach efforts of the Philadelphia Union and the Philadelphia Union Foundation. Specific responsibilities of this position include handling donation requests and contributions reporting, screening applicants for the Hometown Hero Program, supervising Union Soccer School Summer Camps, preparing community related presentations, assisting in planning fundraising and community engagement events, and promoting the efforts of the Philadelphia Union Foundation, which works to assist the continued development of Chester City United, as well as the Soccer for Success program with the US Soccer Foundation.
Additionally, interns will be asked to execute game day responsibilities as assigned.

Digital Media Intern:

Background in English, Communications or Writing. Working knowledge of soccer and graphic design preferred.
Intern will be writing some material for the Philadelphia Union website as well as assisting the New Media Coordinator with projects as assigned. Interns will also be assisting in front office day-to-day operations.

Event Operations Intern:

Event Operations Interns will support all Union games and events. Event Operations Interns will work in every department including, marketing, ticket sales, operations, community and communications. Events include, but are not limited to: All Union Home games, promotional give-away distribution, grassroots events, Soccer Schools and camps, skills clinics, promotional events, Mobile Marketing Tours, and more. The Event Operations internship is hands on and the students involved are asked to help set up, run, breakdown and evaluate a multitude of events and projects. This internship provides a look at event planning and event execution within a professional sport team. Interns will be asked to work nights and weekends. Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

This will also include support in the Philadelphia Union Foundation, Soccer Schools, Indoor Tournaments, and other marketing events. The front office intern assists coordinator with intern scheduling, and organization. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.

Game Operations Intern:

The Game Operations Intern will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Operations department for all pre-game and game day preparations and will assist the front office in day-to-day operations. Internships with the Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.

• Communicate, coordinate and stall all game day volunteers
• Develop game day staff list
• Create all game day volunteer paperwork, including credentials, post orders, brief sheets
• Track and record attendance of all volunteers

• Manage the set-up, and clean-up of supplies for in stadium game operations
• Assist with in-office tasks when asked from time to time

Graphic Design Intern:

The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and communications department in the creation and design of all design collateral. Interns will assist several departments as well as the front office in day-to-day operations. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.

Applicants applying for the Design Internship should be familiar with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. A sample portfolio will be required during the interview process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in the creation of all graphics, collateral, images and other projects
• Create and design layout for Inside the Net, Philadelphia Union’s Official Game day program
• Assist in updating website graphics, including banners, cover photos, web ads, etc.
• Create and compose official game day roster cards for all home, away and international matches
• Assist with additional ads and promotional material throughout the season
• Complete projects for various departments within the organization
• Assist and attend occasional grassroots and promotional events

Grassroots Marketing Intern:

The Grassroots Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and operations departments as well as the front office in day-to-day operations. • Coordinate all aspects of the Union’s Mobile Marketing Tour with internal and external contacts
• Communicate all scheduled Mobile Marketing Tour appearance with the marketing operations coordinator
• Organize and manage all facets of Union grassroots initiatives
• Internal communication regarding Mobile Marketing Tours
• Mobile Marketing Tour on site activation
• Compose and distribute pre-event appearance sheets to all working staff

Latino Marketing Intern:

The Latino Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and communications department, as well as assist with all front office day-to-day operations. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.
Applications applying for the Latino Marketing Internship should be fluent in Spanish (oral and written communication) and have the ability to translate text and speech fluently from English to Spanish and Spanish to English. A writing sample will be required during the interview process.

Marketing & Promotions Intern:

The Marketing and Promotion Intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and operations department, as well as assist with all front office day-to-day operations. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.
Interns will be asked to work nights and weekends. Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Manage all promo requests forms and compile spreadsheet of promo requests
• Fulfill all promo request forms by gathering all materials from merchandise room
• Responsible for pre-event set-up and details pertaining to the Union’s radio talk show, “The 90th minute”
• Work all Philadelphia Union home games
• Assist and work occasional grassroots and promotional events

Marketing Intern:

The Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and operations department, as well as assist with all front office day-to-day operations. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.

• Manage the Philadelphia Union Junior Supporters Club membership
• Supervise Junior Supporter Check-in on game day
• Create monthly Junior Supporters Club newsletter
• Staff, interview and communicate regularly with all members of the Philadelphia Union’s promotional team, Major Molly’s Army
• Manage the production of the official game day program of the Philadelphia Union, Inside the Net
• Work with the premium seating department to assist in set-up of the Stadium Club and suites prior to game day
• Responsible for answering general marketing email and phone account
• Assist with additional front office tasks from time to time

The video intern will be responsible for assisting with the planning of all elements as it relates to video production.

• Responsible for shooting, editing, and creating original content to be displayed on website, in-stadium, and TV broadcast

Angelo’s Soccer Corner - the Operating Partner of the Philadelphia Union Professional Soccer Merchandise Shop at PPL Park is looking for outgoing, motivated people to join our Game Day Sales Team for the 2013 season.  This is a great part-time opportunity to earn money or supplement your regular income while establishing a connection with a local professional sports team and sporting goods business.
