Bethlehem Steel FC Equipment Intern (January Start) - Bethlehem Steel FC (USL Affiliate of Philadelphia Union) (Chester, PA)

SUMMARY:

The Equipment Intern will be responsible for assisting the Equipment Manager with day-to-day operations, front office operations, and provide game & event support. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with Bethlehem Steel daily Locker Room set-up (practices and games)
  • Assist Bethlehem Steel Team Staff with day-to-day needs
  • Work with staff to prepare the field and locker room for practices and games
  • Assist the Players and Staff with away game travel
  • Assist with Front Office support
  • Assist with all Bethlehem Steel Games
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required

Box Office Intern (January Start) - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

OVERVIEW:

Interns will be responsible for assisting the box office in day-to-day operations as well as front office operations and games and events support.  Internships with the Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences.  Box office experience is a plus but is not required for this position. Interns will be trained on the Paciolan ticketing system and be exposed to various forms of fan services.  Interns will be asked to work some nights and weekends.  Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell tickets to walk-up customers at the Talen Energy Stadium Box Office
  • Fulfill all internal and external ticket orders
  • Learn the Paciolan ticketing system
  • Prepare the box office for game day and event on-sales
  • Supervise game day sellers
  • Set up and breakdown will call
  • Provide a high level of customer service at Union home games and other PPL Park events

Sales & Marketing: Digital/New Media Sales
Content Manager - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

The Content Manager will be responsible for building communications plans, managing the content calendar, leading editorial contributors including internal staff and freelance writers/videographers and monitoring content performance/effectiveness.  The Content Manager will work in the Marketing Department and report to the Digital Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create unique content for Philadelphia Union website, mobile and social media outlets including written pieces, photo stories and videos
  • Manage and execute the Philadelphia Union content calendar accurately and on time
  • Coordinate with freelance writers and other content creators to deliver content across digital platforms

The Coordinator, Social Media will be responsible for all Philadelphia Union social media.  This position is in the Marketing Department and will report to the Manager, Digital.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute day-to-day social media initiatives by developing and posting content on social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Periscope, Pinterest, Tumblr)
  • Maintain social media/digital calendar for short and long term promotions
  • Develop social promotions in coordination with marketing, tickets, digital, community/foundation and corporate partnership

The Event Operations intern will be responsible for executing Philadelphia Union events including but not limited to: grassroots marketing events, corporate sponsor events, soccer schools and all Union home games. OVERVIEW:

The Philadelphia Union is looking for high-energy, motivated sellers to join our 50/50 raffle sales team for the 2017 season.  The mission of the Philadelphia Union Foundation is to provide opportunities for children through the power of relationships to offer transformational change in the areas of education, community, health, and recreation.  The Philadelphia Union Foundation is a registered 501c3.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approach fans pre-game and in-game to explain the details of the 50/50 raffle program and to sell raffle tickets.
  • Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets, following program requirements.
  • Answer questions fans may have about the program.
  • Turn in all cash and tickets to Coordinator several times throughout and at the end of game-day.
  • Hours: Arrive 2.0 hours pre-kick. Shift ends 20-30 minutes after the game ends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • Prior experience handling cash

You’ll be coached by a leadership team that has a combined 40+ years of sports sales and management experience. They will be conducting your training and teaching you everything you need to know to perform at a championship level.

THE PITCH

This is a great launching point to begin your career in sports ticket sales. You'll be making phone calls, scheduling meetings, and attending events with qualified Union ticket prospects to sell them ticket packages. You’ll develop and manage relationships while providing exemplary customer service. The majority of your time will be spent in the office but you may work various community and in-stadium events along with all of our 18+ home games. We don’t expect you to already understand how to sell tickets. We’ll provide you with first class training and support to help you be successful.

MAIN DUTIES

1. Make 90+ phone calls per day to qualified prospects with a focus of generating full season and partial season ticket sales
2. Manage relationships of both ticket package accounts you sell as well as inherited accounts
3. Be available to work up to 18+ home games
4. Other duties as assigned

Also responsible for creating day-of-game content for social media/web including.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud Design Suite to generate designs for use on social media, websites and printed materials
  • Work alongside the Marketing & Corporate Partnerships department under the supervision of Sr. Graphic Designer to ensure all graphics needs are met
  • Proof all materials in accurate manner, delivering high-quality, on-time and error-free drafts

QUALIFICATIONS:

Premium Sales - Senior Account Executive or Account Executive - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

DO YOU WANT TO MOVE UP TO THE FIRST DIVISION?

HIGH ROLLERS

Premium sales isn’t for small-time players.  You’ll be dribbling your way through some of the toughest defenders (gatekeepers) in Philadelphia to get to that key decision maker and score a big win off the field for the Union.  In this position, you’ll be calling on companies and business professionals, while also meeting potential clients at networking events all over the Philadelphia area.

 

YOUR PLAYBOOK

We’ll expect you to have a basic understanding of Premium ticket sales coming in.  We’ll also expect you to be able to further your ticket sales craft during your time at the Union prior to making your next career jump.

You'll be making phone calls, emailing, networking, and setting up face to face meetings with Union Premium prospects to sell them Premium Seating. You’ll develop and manage relationships while providing exemplary customer service. The majority of your time will be spent in the office, but should be continuously scheduling meetings in and out of the office, and in-stadium events along with all of our 18+ Union home games.

 

MAIN DUTIES

• Execute effective sales calls and presentations promoting the purchase of premium ticket products in order to meet established sales objectives.
• Proactively solicit and follow-up on personal sales leads under the guidelines established by supervisors.
• Produce and maintain accurate reports regarding sales, appointments, and account maintenance.
• Work in conjunction with Sales Team to uphold mandates of entire department regarding sales and service objectives.
• Participate in events, promotions, client entertainment and other activities as required.
• Work closely with Ticket Operations and Service departments to ensure inventory integrity, and high levels of service for ticket purchasers.

Ticket Sales & Fan Services Intern (January Start) - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

Interns will be responsible for assisting the ticket sales and fan services staff front office in day-to-day operations.  Interns will be exposed to front office operations and general marketing operations as well. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.  Interns will be asked to work some nights and weekends.  Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Market Research to develop sales leads for the department
  • Assist in Pre-Season preparations in Sales Department and Box Office
  • Assist in Gameday preparation and execution
  • Aid in execution of local Youth Soccer Partnerships
  • Aid in execution of local Pub Partnerships

Technical Services: Audio/Video Editing and Production
Video Production Assistant (Seasonal) - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

The Video Production Assistant will be responsible for shooting and editing original content for the in-stadium video presentation, website, and broadcast needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the execution of the video production control room for all events at Talen Energy Stadium
  • Write, produce and edit original video content
  • Design new graphics for all video outlets
  • Maintain video archive
  • Shoot video content for features, highlight videos and future use
  • Maintain control room at Talen Energy Stadium
  • Work closely with other departments (marketing, sponsorship, communications, etc.) to fulfill video needs
  • Create original content for the Union’s USL affiliate Bethlehem Steel FC
  • Assist in maintaining the video player on the Union website, YouTube channel and on demand library

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Experience with a professional sports team is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of non-linear editing (Final Cut Pro 7 or Adobe Premiere preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus
  • Experience with DSLR and Cinema-style cameras is a plus
  • Lighting and set design is a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at a time with tight deadlines
  • Be creative, innovated and original
  • Attentive to detail
  • Ability to work in independently and in groups is a must

The Video Production Intern will be responsible for assisting the front office in day-to-day operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Video Production Intern will be responsible for assisting with the planning of all elements as it relates to video production. Responsibilities of the production intern will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for shooting, editing, and creating original content to be displayed on website, in-stadium, weekly magazine show, and game broadcasts
  • Fulfill footage requests from broadcast partners and media outlets
  • Shoot and edit short form video for social media
  • Design and creation of audio/video content and graphics for in-stadium video board, website, and social media
  • Assist in maintaining all video production equipment and control room needs
  • Shoot and edit weekly press conferences and player interviews
  • Logging and archiving footage
  • Assist in the creative planning for outside events that come to Talen Energy Stadium

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Camera Operation and Lighting, and Audio set-up
