POSITION SUMMARY:
The Philadelphia Union Foundation is looking for high-energy, motivated sellers to join our 50/50 raffle sales team for the 2014 season.
JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:
• Approach fans pre-game and in-game to explain the details of the 50/50 raffle program.
• Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets, following program requirements.
• Answer questions fans may have about the program.
• Turn in all cash and tickets to Coordinator several times throughout and at the end of gameday. •

  • Hours: Arrive 2.5 hours pre-kick. Shift ends after all money is accounted for.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Prior experience handling cash
• Ability to interact positively with large fan base
• Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
• Above average verbal communication skills
• Strong sales skills

Must be highly self motivated and outgoing.

• Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays if necessary.
• Having a flexible schedule that allows for working some or all weekday, day games is a must

Accounting Manager - YSC Sports - Philadelphia Union (Wayne, PA)

Description:  Philadelphia Union’s youth development partner, is seeking a Financial Manager, to manage the day-to-day accounting responsibilities for a sports organization, with at least 5+ years of accounting manager experience to work directly with the CFO and directors of affiliated subsidiaries.  Candidates should be dynamic, detail oriented, organized, technology savvy, be able to work in a small company, fast pace environment and be willing to ‘dive-into-the-details’.
Specific skills critical to success:
 

• Daily Tasks:
o Oversee the sports management operating system (customer registrations, credits, payments, accounts receivable, etc.)
o Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, filing (be detail oriented such that revenue/expenses are entered with the correct company/division)
o Assist CFO with daily projects, manage internal policies and procedures
o Assist CFO with human resources function

• Monthly General Ledger Work:
o Assist CFO with reconciling the general ledger for several companies
o Assist CFO with publishing financial statements
o Assist CFO with managing the budget
o Assist CFO with external audit, tax, 401(k) compliance, health care

• Skills / Qualifications:
o CPA, minimum 5+ years experience
o Research skills, analytical, attention to detail, organization
o Candidate willing to ‘dive-into-the-details’ (i.e., perform the daily tasks above), but be able to ‘elevate’ to perform month-end closing / analytical work
o Willing to work in a fast pace environment
o Exceptional computer skills with Microsoft products (word, excel ‘modeling’, powerpoint)
o Knowledge of Quickbooks

Manager of Premium Seating - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

Title: Manager of Premium Seating
Reports to: Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Premium Seating

OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for generating revenue through the sale/leasing of Premium Seats and Private Suites at PPL Park in Chester PA.  Inventory will include Suites, Field Level Seats, Field Side Tables, Party Decks, etc…  The ideal candidate must have a strong sales background, an outgoing personality, and be self-motivated.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the sale/leasing and management of Club Seats, Field Level Seats, Field Side Tables, Party Decks and Suites
• Work with Senior Management team to create develop new Premium Seating opportunities
• Secure multi-year agreements for Private Suite leases
• Maintain a detailed customer database of all clients and prospects. This includes, but is not limited to: Salesforce CRM, Paciolan Ticketing System, call sheets, referral follow-up, existing client programs, new solicitation and other programs as developed
• Manage and oversee renewal of existing Premium accounts
• Generate leads through prospecting and networking
• Actively call on businesses, executives, affluent individuals and other qualified leads
• Engage prospects and follow through sales process
• Provide first class servicing to current Premium Seat and Suite clients, including event responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant field required
• 3-4 years of successful sales experience with Suites, Sponsorships or other Premium products in the sports and entertainment industry preferred
• Experience in the Philadelphia marketplace preferred
• Strong work ethic, team-oriented attitude, and enthusiastic about contributing to the success of the organization and department
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Results-oriented demeanor and a strong desire to succeed
• Working knowledge of Philadelphia area businesses 
• Working knowledge of generally accepted standards of customer service and problem resolution
• Excellent knowledge of PC systems including Word, Excel and database-related platforms

Box Office Intern:
Interns will be responsible for assisting the box office in day-to-day operations as well as front office operations and games and events support. Internships with the Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences. Box office experience is a plus but is not required for this position. Interns will be trained on the Paciolan ticketing system and be exposed to various forms of fan services.

Latino Marketing Intern:
The Latino Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and communications department, as well as assist with all front office day-to-day operations.  Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.
Applications applying for the Latino Marketing Internship should be fluent in Spanish (oral and written communication) and have the ability to translate text and speech fluently from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.  A writing sample will be required during the interview process.   Interns will be asked to work nights and weekends. Athletic Training Intern:

The athletic training intern will take an active role in all phases of the athletic training program.
