Account Executive, Season Membership Sales - Houston Dynamo (Houston, TX)

The Houston Dynamo sales team currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate self-starter to join their season membership ticket sales team.

The ideal candidates will have a passion for ticket sales, a solid foundation of sales training and strong interpersonal/communication skills. He/She will be required to initiate cold calls, face-to-face appointments and innovate new programming to increase membership sales for the Houston Dynamo.

Basic Function: The Season Membership Account Executive is responsible for primarily selling FSE ticket inventory, with a secondary focus on group tickets through cold-calling, utilizing the clubs various prospecting tools, and contact management software to create and manage effective revenue yielding relationships with various individuals and organizations within the private and public sectors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·   80% focus on primary goal of selling season memberships including luxury suites and partial plans (FSE Products)

·   20% focus on secondary goal of selling group tickets through referrals of established relationships

·   Generate leads via prospecting, networking, attending chamber of commerce meetings, cold calls, business related networking functions and Houston Dynamo games and other Dynamo related business events

·   Maintain accurate sales activity: calls, meetings and stadium tour records in our ticket program software

·   Provide weekly activity summaries as outlined by the Manager of Membership Sales

·   Meet all predetermined activity and sales goals

·   Assist with other season and group ticket sales duties, as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Passion for sales, sports and creativity

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and prior experience in ticket sales.

  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Extensive sales prospecting-by-phone, cold-calling experience

  • Track record of sales success and appointment setting with key corporate and non-profit decision makers

  •  Ability to multitask, while being able to provide reports and summaries as directed

BILINGUAL Marketing Asisstant/Street Team - Houston Dynamo/Dash/BBVA Compass Stadium (Houston, TX)

The Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash are seeking part-time dynamic, enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to serve as Marketing Assistants.

Marketing Assistants serve as key community ambassadors for the Dynamo and Dash at a variety of public events in the Houston area and at home games for both teams. Their mission is to interact with potential and existing fans, providing information and collateral as well as ticketing opportunities. These motivated individuals also execute interactive contests and giveaways. Other opportunities within sponsorship, team-related activities, marketing and public relations also exist as a part of this program.

Required Qualifications:

Business Intelligence Manager - Houston Dynamo/BBVA Compass Stadium (HOUSTON, TX)

The Business Intelligence Manager will be responsible for configuration and management of the Houston Dynamo, Houston Dash, and BBVA Compass Stadium CRM and Data Warehouse. The position will serve as the primary contact for the executive team for CRM related needs, issues, and training. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible enforcing company data standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Primary point of contact with outside vendors relating to CRM/BI (i.e. KORE, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Tableau)
  • Devise standardized naming convention for accounts, including multiple locations and subsidiaries
  • Manage Tableau workbooks for executive team, directors/managers, and account executives
  • Review existing business processes in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, identify inefficient practices, and implement solutions
  • Maintain clean, organized Microsoft Dynamics CRM instance
  • Implement workflows in Microsoft Dynamics CRM to automate processes
  • Build and maintain custom forms, fields, layouts, validation rules, etc. in Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • Create Reports and Dashboard components to display and analyze sales/marketing data
  • Research best practices for the administration and development of Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • Collaborate with data warehouse vendor and service vendors to create connections to data sources: tickets, CRM, database marketing, merchandise, food & beverage, social media, etc.

 SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

  • Three (3) or more years of professional experience with two (2) years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and a data warehouse
  • Must possess exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; must be able to communicate effectively with internal customers and outside vendors and stakeholders
  • Previous CRM/BI experience is required, specifically KORE ProSports, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and Tableau
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Working knowledge of ticketing systems, especially Veritix
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel
  • Detailed, results oriented, and proactive
  • Must be able to learn quickly, problem solve, and self-teach when needed
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully work in a team, build relationship, develop trust and credibility with stakeholders across the organization

Finance: Controller/Director of Finance
Director of Finance - Houston Dynamo (Houston, TX)

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Director of Finance will direct and oversee all Finance and Accounting functions of the Houston Dynamo, BBVA Compass Stadium, Houston Dash, Houston Sports Park, Forever Orange, and Dynamo Charities (501c3). This position will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company including planning, managing, and controlling all financial activities. Position title and responsibilities may be elevated to Vice President or CFO depending on candidate experience. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Management:

  • Supervise accounting department staff.
  • Maintain accurate analysis of budgets, financials trends, and forecasts.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of key decisions including introduction of new programs, strategies, and systems.
  • Enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with ownership and senior executives to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Ensure department policies & procedures are followed.

Accounting/Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Supervise the process of recording manual journal entries and various finance-related processes to ensure accounting records are complete and accurate.
  • Review and approve cash disbursements.
  • Control financial reporting to ownership, including preparing, reviewing, and delivering monthly financial package.
  • Manage process for budgeting and forecasting throughout the year.
  • Present financial projections to ownership at quarterly board meetings.
  • Prepare various other financial reports and analyses as requested by ownership/management.

Other:

  • Coordinate annual external audit and issue audited financial statements.
  • Work with tax firm to ensure all federal and state tax extensions and returns are filed timely and accurately.
  • Partner with HR and Payroll Coordinator to ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately.
  • Manage the organization’s cash flow needs, projecting cash position, and coordinating intercompany loans to maintain necessary balances in all accounts.
  • Understand debt structures and monitor covenant compliance including minimum EBITDA and Fixed Charge Coverage Ratio requirements.  Prepare consolidated summarized financials quarterly for debt compliance.
  • Review various reports prepared by the accounting department staff including: A/R Aging, Event Settlements, Event Flash Reports, MLS Team Financial Reporting, MLS SAS 62, etc.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

      Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in a fast-paced accounting/finance department. 
  • Experience in sports and/or arena management industry a major plus.
  • Bachelors degree in accounting/finance or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV accounting software, Paychex payroll processing platform, and Veritix ticketing system preferred but not required.

      Licenses or certificates:

  • Certified Public Accounting license a plus.

COMPANY INFORMATION

The Dynamo Charities and Community Relations department has two roles: maintaining and building relationships with the community through a variety of community outreach efforts, and raising awareness and funds for Dynamo Charities, the charitable arm of the Houston Dynamo.

Dynamo Charities believes in using the power of the Dynamo and the sport of soccer to support the community. It has established a variety of programs in health, wellness and physical fitness, scholarship opportunities, support to re-build soccer fields in impoverished areas, game ticket giveaways and many others to positively impact the lives of those in the greater Houston area.

The community relations department is looking for one to two interns who can support the endeavors of Dynamo Charities by assisting in creative fundraising efforts, event planning and securing sponsorships.

EXTERNAL JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsibilities for this position can include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicating with potential sponsors to secure funding for programs

  • Expanding Dynamo Charities databases of contacts and sponsors Executing Dynamo Charities activities at Dynamo games

Game Day Media Operations Assistant

The Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash Communications Department is seeking several Game Day Media Operations Assistants. These individuals will assist the Communications team with all aspects of day-of-game media operations, including distribution of team lineups and statistical information; distribution of media credentials; assisting still photographers and videographers on field level; and obtaining and transcribing quotes from players and coaches following the game.

The ideal candidate either has or is pursuing a college degree and is interested in a career in sports communications. Bilingual candidates (fluent in Spanish) are preferred. Experience transcribing quotes is preferred; strong writing and grammar skills are required.

Job Functions:

  • Assist Dynamo and Dash Communications staff on game days at BBVA Compass Stadium.

  • Supervise photographers and videographers on field level during games.

  • Distribute lineups and statistical information to reporters and photographers at designated times throughout games.

  • Obtain and transcribe quotes from players and coaches as assigned following games.

  • Assist with setup, breakdown and maintenance of the press box and photographer workroom on game days.
