FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain Communications experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry. Many different opportunities are available across our organization.

We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program.

Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.

All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

Community Relations Internship: The FC Dallas Foundation is seeking a motivated intern, who is a self-starter and who is interested in developing the relationship FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium has with the surrounding communities.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Managing incoming donation requests and fan mail
• Helping to facilitate the Kicks for Kids programs
• Assisting with game-day initiatives and community programs
• Supporting the Community Relations Director with the implementation of the Foundation, upcoming events and fundraisers
• Manage player appearances
• Database Management

Minimum Requirements

International Business Development Internship: This internship will allow you to gain extraordinary hands on sports business experience by assisting and being a key member of the FC Dallas International Department under the supervision of the Sr. Director. The assistance include participation and coordination of daily departmental needs including but not limited to: assistance with the administration and logistics for our Hispanic community outreach initiatives such as; festivals, youth community clinics, school assembly visits, in store promotional events, soccer tournaments among others. Fully expected to be active in the execution of our specific Hispanic FC Dallas Game Day Initiatives and ability to attend home games is a must. Furthermore, internship could include duties in supporting with ticket sales, calling prospects creating ticket buy awareness, generation of leads through multiple registration mechanism and accuracy in database management. Finally, internship responsibilities include assistance with sponsorship fulfillment activities.

North Texas Soccer Tour: FC Dallas and North Texas State Soccer Association in conjunction with a few key sponsors have developed a mobile marketing tour that travels throughout DFW and north Texas area. We are currently looking for a students interested in participating in the execution of the tour. The tour visits approximately 50-60 events per calendar year which include soccer tournaments, league play, and various sponsor events. The tour consists of a company SUV that pulls a 24-foot trailer, a 10x10 tent and interactive inflatables. The North Texas Soccer Tour Internship will serve as an integral part of the FC Dallas strategic marketing efforts.

Members of this team will act as ambassadors for FC Dallas interacting with fans during scheduled 17 home games and at various special events including (but not limited to); player appearances, community events, media functions, nightlife appearances, and team driven events in the DFW area.


Team members will be expected to have a dynamic personality with the ability to engage the target audience in lively conversation and be able to sell FC Dallas tickets and merchandise. Members must be capable of communicating key brand messages and conversing about soccer in a knowledgeable and positive manner.
Schedule will be based around events, games, and North Texas Soccer tour dates.

Duties:
• Set up/tear down for each tour event.
• Market FCD and coordinating partners to potential customers during each tour event throughout the Metroplex and surrounding communities.

Grounds: The intern will be responsible for assisting the FC Dallas Grounds department in all aspects of operation and facility management of Toyota Stadium, 17 field Soccer Complex, and surrounding landscape. This position will offer a great opportunity to work with a professional sports organization with a multi-use facility. Interns will gain valuable hands on experience in game operations, field maintenance cultural practices, and landscape techniques. Qualified applicants must be pursuing a degree in a related field of study. Availability to work nights/weekends and game days are required.

Job Duties:
• Work directly with Grounds department to ensure all game preparations, field maintenance, and landscaping is completed as scheduled.
• Assist with a variety of field setups and breakdowns (benches, goals, bleachers, banners, a-frames, sideline tarps, football uprights, turf blankets, concert floor, etc.)
• Assist with mowing, edging, weed-eating, tree trimming, plant beds, field layout and painting, field set up, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualification:
• Candidates must receive college credit and provide proof of school enrollment and internship credit to participate.

The Hospitality intern will play a supportive role to the F&B department for the soccer club and stadium, and will receive exposure to all facets of the Hospitality Industry in a Stadium setting. All internships with FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid and must be used to receive college credit.

Job Duties Include:
• Assist the General Manager of Legends at Toyota Stadium and his team in the planning, organizing, logistics and operations of all events hosted at FC Dallas Stadium.
• Administrative duties including but not limited to filing, scanning documents, special projects and data entry.
• Assisting in the coordination Non Profit volunteer concessions activities and scheduling.
• Greeting and assisting Employment/Food and Beverage office visitors, clients, vendors and applicants.

The HR intern will play a supportive role to the Human Resources department for the soccer club and stadium, and will receive exposure to all facets of the Human Relations Department in a Generalist Capacity. All internships with FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid and must be used to receive college credit.

Job Duties to include:
• Assisting with and coordinates recruitment efforts, which may include attending job fairs
• Administrative duties including but not limited to filing, scanning documents, special projects and data entry
• Conducting pre-screening interviews for applicants, maintain applicant log
• Source on-line applications

Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

Job Duties include:
• Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
• Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
• Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.
• Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
• Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.

Duties:

FC Dallas Youth Club Internship: FC Dallas is seeking an intern to assist the FC Dallas Youth Club in all aspects of 2014-2015 season.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist with 2014-2015 Tryouts
• Creation of player packets for all players trying out
• Creation of manager books for all team managers
• Assist with all coach/manager meetings
• Assist with preparation and collection of Team Fact Sheets
• Prepare Team Files and Folders
• Coordinate Uniform Fittings

Minimum Requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Detailed-oriented and organized
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

FC Dallas Youth Player Development: This internship will work directly with the Director of Juniors Player Development to facilitate the FC Dallas School of Excellence soccer camps. FC Dallas School of Excellence programs are specifically designed for players and coaches to develop solid fundamentals of soccer in an educational, structured, energized and professional manner at one of the best soccer complexes in the country.

Duties include:
• Assist the Juniors Player Development department in marketing, administration, scheduling, and facilitation of events including soccer camps, soccer clinics and coaching education sessions.

Requirements
• Must have previous experience playing Soccer
• Must hold a valid driver license and clean driving record.
• Must be detail oriented and possess a working knowledge of the internet, MS Word, MS Excel and previous database experience.
• Ability to work in outside weather conditions to include hot, humid and wet conditions.

Facility Operations/Security: Custodial/Housekeeping
2014 Team Toyota Stadium - Housekeeping Attendant - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

 FC Dallas and Toyota stadium in Frisco are looking for housekeeping workers to work on an as needed basis during events at our stadium and complex. Under the general supervision of the Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor, the employee has the primary responsibility for cleaning the stadium in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection. It is the role of the housekeeper to follow daily and occasion cleaning including, but not limited to, the offices areas, hallways, lounges, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, kitchens, restrooms, concourses, soccer fields and entrances so that health standards are met. The housekeeper may also be responsible for performing additional duties not stipulated below. If so, these duties are specified as an addendum to this description.


Duties:

  • Perform any combination of light cleaning duties
  • Clean lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
  • Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Maintain floor cleanliness using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
  • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Polish accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Remove debris from concourses, sidewalks, and playing fields.
  • Replenish supplies such as chemicals, paper goods, and bathroom items.
  • Load washing machines and fold dried items.
  • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, partitions, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
  • Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive.
  • Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides..
  • Dust window blinds, sills, furniture, and electronics.
  • Move and arrange furniture.
  • Observe precautions required to protect self and guest property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
  • Prepare work areas prior to events, and arrange equipment, and furniture for functions.
  • Wash dishes and clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware.
  • Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
  • Inform supervisors of product supplies to keep stocked.

2014 Team Toyota Stadium - Retail Sales Associate - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

The Retail Sales Associate will be primarily responsible for providing first rate retail customer service to all patrons at the merchandising locations throughout Toyota Stadium. This position is a part time position and is based around the events held at the stadium, complex and facility. The majority of our events are FC Dallas Soccer home games, while we also host International soccer matches, concerts and music festivals. The sales associate may also assist in the FC Dallas Team Store during regular store hours if needed.

 Job Duties:

  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly, clean, and well- maintained retail merchandise environment
  • Assist customers in all aspects of the retail purchasing process: product selection, checking-out, and/or bagging merchandise
  • Maintain solid product knowledge and an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
  • Assist with set-up, display maintenance, break-down, and register close-out at all retail locations in Stadium.
  • Assist in tagging, warehousing and replenishing FC Dallas merchandise throughout Toyota Stadium
  • Communicate customer requests to management.
  • Assist in completing price changes within the department.
  • Participate in seasonal inventory and cycle counts.

Partnership Marketing Coordinator - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

To manage and execute the contractual fulfillment needs of sponsorship agreements between FC Dallas/Toyota Stadium and its corporate partners, including, but not limited to, MLS games, concerts, player appearances, and special events (75% focus on Partner fulfillment/25% focus on Mobile Marketing Tour). To professionally conduct customer relationship management duties on a daily basis. To properly manage tasks and duties requiring the interfacing with all internal departments, Major League Soccer league office and any 3rd party strategic alliance partners or vendors.

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Oversee FC Dallas Soccer Tour, which includes scheduling events, set-up, execution, staffing, and sponsor representation
  • Manage a team of interns for the execution of the FC Dallas Soccer Tour (mobile tour, approx. 100 appearances annually)
  • Maintain relationships with 3rd party events for FC Dallas Soccer Tour participation and set-up
  • Organize and plan Community Clinics
  • Execute all aspects of sponsorship agreements for respective sponsor accounts
  • Facilitate consistent communication with corporate sponsors through all avenues of correspondence to plan accordingly for upcoming marketing efforts and campaigns
  • Be onsite to work and implement all aspects of promotions and client entertainment for sponsor agreements as related to FC Dallas games, concerts, player appearances, special events, including the FC Dallas Soccer Tour, etc.
  • Review and assure that sponsor marketing elements are properly implemented at all times (i.e. signage, web elements, promotions, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the sales team regarding account renewals
  • Manage account receivables and responsible for annual renewals for book of accounts
  • Keep proper records on all account actions, including photographs, affidavits, event summaries and reports
  • Organize, create and assemble mid-year and year-end recaps for individual accounts
  • Assist in planning and execution of client and internal special events
  • Maintain comprehensive communication with Senior Director of Partnership Marketing and Manger of Partnership Marketing as it relates to sponsorships

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Bilingual Preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Two or more years of experience in Sports Marketing is a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays
