2017 Fall Internship - GRAPHIC DESIGN - FC DALLAS, Major League Soccer & Toyota Stadium (Frisco, TX)

FC Dallas  of Major League Soccer and Toyota Stadium are looking for a student intern to work with the Graphic Design Team in the creation and design of print and online/digital content. We have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry. We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program. 

Toyota stadium & Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.  Toyota Stadium is the future home of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment, marketing, and sales industries. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and design flyers, posters and other collateral to support the Sales, Partnerships and Marketing departments
  • Assist the Marketing team with the creation and design of online/digital graphics to use on web and social media outlets
  • Assist the Creative Team in photography projects from player photo and video shoots to merchandise product shoots

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be an active college student pursuing a degree in Advertising, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or a related field.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to work well in team environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate thoughts, ideas and designs
  • Ability to multi-task on design projects

Technical Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of graphic design software in a MAC environment. The intern is required to have skills and abilities in the following areas:
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Photography experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a plus

Digital Media Production: FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are looking for a Multimedia production intern to assist the Marketing department. The multimedia production intern with report to the Multimedia Services Manager and assist with the day to day objectives of the Marketing Department.

Job Duties:
• Assist in filming and editing video segments for in game presentation
• Assist in conducting player interviews as well as filming and editing online video segments
• Assist the marketing department on game days to coordinate and implement marketing endeavors such as half time entertainment, in game promotions and other related duties.
• Assist with the development of online video branding.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Excellent communication skills
• Dynamic and confident personality
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and simultaneous projects
• Strong video production skills that include digital video workflows with Canon DSLRs, Premier Pro, CS6, Final Cut Pro 7
• A understanding of Adobe After Effects CS6 is a plus but not a requirement

Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

Job Duties include:

  • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
  • Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
  • Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.
  • Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
  • Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.
  • Developing timelines, itineraries, and checklists prior to events.
  • Assist with compliance in accreditation and parking for Staff and Volunteers.
  • Coordinate pre-game events on the field in accordance with MLS rules and regulations.
  • Resolve customer service issues or work with supervisors if unable to do so alone.
  • Observe complex fields to ensure safety procedures, security procedures and equipment usage procedures are followed.
  • Update & maintain schedules for staff, complex and field usage
  • Develop and maintain all proper documentation & files for events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Must be detail-orientated with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Knowledge about the sport of Soccer.
  • Provide helpful and courteous customer service to all vendors and guests and have the ability to problem solve as needed.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft word and excel applications

The intern will learn all aspects of the coordination and administration of Ticket Operations, Box Office, and Game Day Operations. This internship is designed for college students who are interested in pursuing a ticket operations career in the sports industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily correspondence to FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium guests
  • Assisting in any ticketed concerts, special events, and promotions held at Toyota Stadium
  • Assisting in order processing and fulfillment of all FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium Events
  • Administrative office duties including filing, organizing, data entry and mailing
  • Assisting in planning and implementing special marketing events and promotions
  • Working closely with fan relations and sales staff to fulfill orders

2017 Fall Internship HUMAN RESOURCES - FC Dallas, Major League Soccer & Toyota Stadium (Frisco, TX)

The HR department for FC Dallas and FC Dallas Stadium is looking for a dependable, well organized and trustworthy intern. The HR intern will play a supportive role to the Human Resources department for the soccer club and stadium, and will receive exposure to all facets of the Human Resources Department in a Generalist Capacity. All internships with FC Dallas and Frisco Stadium are unpaid and must be used to receive college credit.

Job Duties to include:

  • Assisting with and coordinates recruitment efforts, which may include attending job fairs, posting jobs externally and creating recruiting collateral. 
  • Administrative duties including but not limited to filing, scanning documents, special projects and data entry
  • Conducting pre-screening interviews for applicants and maintaining applicant  flow log
  • Source on-line applications
  • Assist with the set up of orientation for new interns or new employees 
  • Coordinating and assisting with team building and employee activities
  • Assisting with college internship program, maintain current postings at universities
  • Greeting and assisting Employment office visitors, clients and applicants
  • File appropriate documents in employee folders, maintain files, organize files.

2017 Fall Internship TEAM ADMINISTRATION - FC Dallas, Major League Soccer & Toyota Stadium (Frisco, TX)

Team Administration: The purpose of this internship is to assist the Director of Soccer Operations & Equipment Managers with the daily duties involved with the Major League Soccer team FC Dallas and their U-18 & U-16 Academy Teams.

Duties:

  • Assisting with the logistics of team travel – Visa requests, team itineraries, per diem request and distribution, in-city transportation, follow-up communication with travel agents and hotels

  • Ensure all necessary & required equipment is available for all FCD Home and Away Games for the 1st Team, Reserves and Academy sides

  • Ensure that all MLS requirements & protocols are followed for all games that FCD Teams are involved

  • Assist the Equipment managers with ordering, inventorying, preparation, & distribution of all equipment for the FCD Professional & Academy Programs, coaches & staff.

  • Assist the Equipment managers in the necessary & timely preparation for all professional team practices (Field & Equipment)

  • Assisting with the set-up of daily team practice – daily distribution of practice gear for 28 players, 5 Coaches, 4 staff members and all guest players

  • Perform necessary & required Laundry duties pertinent to the Professional Program, Academy Teams, Coaches, & Staff needs (Gear, Uniforms, towels etc.)

  • Receiving, cataloging and distribution of all new incoming team gear. Preserving and cataloging all archived team gear.

  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Must be an active college student

2017 Team Toyota Stadium - Game day Grounds crew - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

FC Dallas and Toyota stadium are looking for individuals to work on an as needed basis during the 2017 FC Dallas Soccer season.  The Game day Grounds  team will be responsible for the set-up and tear down of the field equipment  for events held at Toyota Stadium, mostly FC Dallas Home games.

Duties:

  • Perform all tasks involved in field preparation for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium events. This includes lifting, carrying and placement of items for setting up the field to include goals, flags, field boards and other items.
  • Assist with placement of the Advocare banner at mid field before the game and during half time.

Under the general supervision of the Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor, the employee has the primary responsibility for cleaning the stadium in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection.
