Academy Coach - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

The Youth Soccer Coach position is an opportunity for an experienced coach excited about

youth development and a passion to be immersed in D.C. United’s Youth Development Department. The

individual will work closely with D.C. United’s Youth Academy as well as the club’s local affiliate club system.

The role includes leading sessions and coaching games with D.C. United’s local affiliate clubs and assisting

head coaches at D.C. United Academy training sessions.

• Provide support to D.C. United’s training program (U9-U12) and camp program (U5-U18) as needed



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 3 year youth coaching experience

• Minimum USSF National “C” Coaching License

Bilingual Game Day Staff assist in the execution of Minnesota United home matches, ensuring that fans have an unforgettable experience.  This is a paid, part time, seasonal position and reports to the Game Day Operations Manager.  This position is located in Blaine, MN.  Applicants MUST be available for the remainder of the season (June-November).

Join our Loon Squad!  Marketing Assistants help with community efforts, grassroots marketing initiatives, and cultural events during the season, both on game days and during team events and appearances.   As a Marketing Assistant, you will receive a behind-the-scenes look at how to execute a marketing campaign and an event table, and what the most important strategies and results are while marketing a professional sports team in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  This is a paid, part time, seasonal position and reports to the Events Manager.  Applicants MUST be available for the remainder of the season (June-November).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with major events in the community, including various festivals, fairs, block parties, and the Minnesota State Fair.
  • Assist with grassroots efforts and street marketing campaigns, including going to local bars and watch parties to pass out information and build excitement for the team.
  • Participate in fan interaction at games, including tailgate parties, as well as pre-game, halftime, and post-game promotions.
  • Assist with other events and promotions as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older with access to reliable transportation (not all locations are accessible via public transit).

Intern - Youth Soccer Coach & Operations - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

The 2015 Summer Camp Coaching & Operations Internship Program is an opportunity for an individual excited about youth soccer development, coaching and operations to immerse into D.C. United’s Summer Soccer Camps at RFK Stadium. The individual will work closely with the camp site director and the Manager, Camps & Training Programs. The primary role will be in assisting coaching staff with on field coaching as needed by any lead coach, equipment preparation and additional responsibilities listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coaching
• Help lead coach provide coaching and positive feedback to youth players

• Understand the topic for each session and be prepared to provide coaching based on coaching points


Operations
• Assist site director in setting up camp and closing camp each day
• Help with registration on Mondays per site director’s direction
• Organize session (cones, balls, pinnies) for lead coaches
• Help organize the youth players with the coaching staff to and from the stadium for events (lunch, locker room tour, team store trip, stadium tour, first team training, etc).

EDUCATOIN AND EXPERIENCE
• Youth coaching experience

• High School or College playing experience preferred but not required

• Minimum “E” Coaching License or equivalent preferred but not required

• Experience in childcare preferred but not required

• CPR/First Aid certification strongly preferred

PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES
• Punctual, positive attitude, high energy, respectful, responsible, fun, effective communicator

DATES & LOCATION

Sales & Service Coordinator - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

The Sales & Service Coordinator will work closely with Ticket Sales and Member Services to ensure that our clients inquiries are being responded to and met.  The candidate will respond to customer inquiries via phone and email to assist with customer needs and questions.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle inbound phone calls and e-mails relating to ticket sales customer service issues
  • Develop and implement strategies for increased efficiency in customer communications
  • Act as a liaison across the club to communicate ticket sales events and programs
  • Assist in design and execution of account holder retention programs and other events.
  • Assist on matchday with all pre-game on-field programs

  • Support sales staff in all group sales initiatives and provide input and solutions to all program needs.
  • Work with Game Presentation staff to organize all on field performances (National Anthem, halftime, etc.)
  • Work closely with Ticket Sales, Marketing, Stadium and Guest Services Staff, Communications, Community Relations, Sponsorship and Team Staff to execute all integrated programs.
  •  Review customer feedback and ensure all complaints are addressed appropriately, via email and phone.
  • Proactively respond to and resolve customer service requests relating to event days.
  • Responsible for all communication with groups prior to, and on, match days to answer all questions and resolve any issues.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

 In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Support Group Sales Manager with group sales initiatives, as needed.
  • Provide additional customer service support to Ticket Operations Manager/Director of Ticket Sales as required.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

 The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Additional experience in customer service, guest relations, event operations, guest services, or similar is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the sports industry is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Well organized and efficient.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and has an ability to think creatively.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to learn existing processes and make necessary improvements.
  • Must work well with others, including full-time staff and hourly event staff.
  • Flexibility and ability to work all D.C. United events, including but not limited to weekends, evenings, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Capable of working a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended workdays and extended numbers of days.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a ticket sales and/or service
