Join our Loon Squad!  Marketing Assistants help with community efforts, grassroots marketing initiatives, and cultural events during the season, both on game days and during team events and appearances.   As a Marketing Assistant, you will receive a behind-the-scenes look at how to execute a marketing campaign and an event table, and what the most important strategies and results are while marketing a professional sports team in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  This is a paid, part time, seasonal position and reports to the Events Manager.  Applicants MUST be available for the remainder of the season (August-November).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with major events in the community, including various festivals, fairs, block parties, and the Minnesota State Fair.
  • Assist with grassroots efforts and street marketing campaigns, including going to local bars and watch parties to pass out information and build excitement for the team.
  • Participate in fan interaction at games, including tailgate parties, as well as pre-game, halftime, and post-game promotions.
  • Assist with other events and promotions as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older with access to reliable transportation (not all locations are accessible via public transit).
  • Ability to manage an area and staff.
  • Personable, reliable, and outgoing.
  • Flexible schedule – most events will be in the evenings during the week and on the weekends.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The Foundation is looking for reliable, hard-working staff members to assist with a soccer program Chester, PA. Qualified candidates will enjoy working with children from a diverse community and they will be able to commit to the work hours:

Spring League = April 1 – June 1

  • 5:00PM – 6:30PM, Mondays & Wednesdays.

  • 10:00AM – 12:00PM, Saturdays.

Summer Camp = August 3-7

  • 9:00AM – 12:00PM, Monday through Friday

Fall League = September 1 – November 1

  • 5:00PM – 6:30PM, Mondays & Wednesdays.

  • 10:00AM – 12:00PM, Saturdays.

Responsibilities will include group activity, game facilitation, and general monitoring and mentorship of the participants.

The CCU soccer program will be held at the large and small fields at STEM High School. 1100 W. 10th Street, Chester PA 19013. Street parking is available. 

$15/hour

D.C. United is seeking a highly motivated candidate to work closely with the Academy Director, AcademyManager and Coordinator in the logistical set-up and tear down of academy matches.  The U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy season runs from August - December, candidates must be able to cmmit to the Fall Season for at least 90% of games.

Essential Functions:

  • Setup and breakdown for all Academy home matches
  • Attend Friday training sessions to help prepare jerseys, vans, matchday items
  • Coordinate with full-time staff members to enure successful event set-up and execution
  • Adhere to a strict event timeline for match day
  • Consistent season-long commitment is mandatory

Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience in event management is preferred
  • Strong leadership background as well as strong professional attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate must be extremely detail oriented
  • Strong work ethic and proactive attitude are essential
  • Comfortable working as a a team in a collaborative setting
  • Knowledge of soccer is preferred but not required

Intern - Marketing (FALL 2015) - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

We are looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in grassroots marketing, event management, game day operations and day-to-day business operations. Students who are available at least 30 hours/week for 3-4 months are preferred. D.C. United accepts a limited number of interns to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Essential Functions:

The primary responsibility is to provide weekday and game day assistance to the Marketing Department. Interns will be expected to assist with the following:

  • Lead-generation on game days and at grassroots events
  • Company vehicle maintenance
  • Collateral and premium item inventory
  • Mascot program
  • Lot 8 tailgate
  • Game-specific ticket promotions
  • Game day operations responsibilities, which includes working all weekend and weeknight games. Game day duties may include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown
  • Some responsibilities will include clerical work such as filing, data entry, copying and correspondence.

Supportive Functions:

Internship Overview:

D.C. United sales interns will learn the inner workings of how to run a successful sports organization along with supporting the game day operations of a stadium. This position fulfills a variety of roles within the team’s ticket sales department. Support will be provided to group sales, season ticket sales, small package sales, customer service and the box office.

Goals:

·         Show initiative to assist with Director of Sales, Sales Managers and Sales Representatives

·         Show initiative to create new revenue generating sales programs

·         Show initiative to improve sales procedures in the office

·         Assist in the daily operations of the D.C. United sales department

Work Plan:

  • Participate in sales training sessions
  • Learn how to organize, plan and sell group & season tickets
  • Manage ticket sales department inventory including giveaway and autographed items
  • Help with the preparation and execution of ticket sales events
  • Assist with all season ticket holder events as well as events that support ticket sales initiatives
  • Research and generate sales leads

    The Sales & Service Coordinator will work closely with Ticket Sales and Member Services to ensure that our clients inquiries are being responded to and met.  The candidate will respond to customer inquiries via phone and email to assist with customer needs and questions.

    SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

     In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

    • Support Group Sales Manager with group sales initiatives, as needed.
    • Provide additional customer service support to Ticket Operations Manager/Director of Ticket Sales as required.
    • Other duties, as assigned.
