Summary:

Responsible for long-term retention and growth of our Season Ticket Holders, which includes the service, support and maintenance of assigned customer accounts and meeting all pre-determined individual and department service and sales performance goals. Responsible for embracing the organization’s mission and providing excellent service to all fans that will not only excite them now, but encourage them to continue their support of Minnesota United FC.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

·   Maximize Season Ticket Holder renewal percentage by providing outstanding customer service to assigned accounts via all touch points and ability to sell or upgrade ticket package for following season.

·   Proactively build relationships with season ticket holders through calls, emails, texts, seat visits and events

·   Handle all forms of inbound communication and be able to address and answer all questions, comments or concerns in a timely fashion

·   Be informed and communicate common customer feedback to help initiate changes and foster a Fans First Culture

·   Responsible for new business sales goal that is obtained by generating referrals, upselling current accounts, Season Tickets, Groups and Premium Products

·   Educate account base on season ticket holder benefits

·   Update and maintain accurate records in CRM regarding all renewals, touch points and sales

·   Attend, plan and participate in STH events, experiences and other benefits

·   Match day duties include, but not limited to: in-seat visits to Season Ticket Holders, executing STH events and match day experiences, managing customer service outlets including the Box Office, Fan relations booth and addressing any Season Ticket Holder problems or concerns.

·   Coordinate with all departments to better enhance the fan’s match day experience

·   Achieve monthly goals as set by supervisor

·   Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Assistant Manager, Ticket Operations - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

POSITION PURPOSE:

Assists with day to day operations of the box office and assists with ticket operations, utilizing ticketing software for all event creations and financial reports; maintains all box office policies and procedures.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide superior professional customer service to fans.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks of the ticketing operations department as deemed by the ticket operations manager and maintain all box office policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and delegate responsibility to Ticket Operations Assistant.
  • Provide ticket software training for new sales representatives.
  • Oversee and participate in fulfillment of daily ticket orders for all customers.
  • Provide support for entry services and ticketing issues on matchdays.
  • Update and maintain ticketing/customer database in Archtics system on a regular basis.
  • Oversee match-day preparations and operational duties such as ticket will call set up.
  • Assist with season ticket and advance sales printing and match-day box office management.
  • Assist Ticket Operations Director with administration of all responsibilities related to event creation and management when necessary.
  • Perform reporting functions as necessary to assist sales staff with various goals.

Other:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by D.C. United from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the nature of the sports industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends, to reflect the business needs of the company.

As a Marketing Assistant you will help with community efforts and events during the season and offseason, both on game days and during team events and appearances. As a Marketing Assistant, you will receive a behind-the-scenes look at how to execute large and small events as well as how to engage with fans and people in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to continue to grow a fan base. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with major events in the community, including various festivals, fairs, block parties, and the Minnesota State Fair.
  • Assist with grassroots efforts and street marketing campaigns, including going to local bars and watch parties to pass out information and build excitement for the team.
  • Participate in fan interaction at games, including tailgate parties, as well as pre-game, halftime, and post-game promotions.
  • Assist with other events and promotions as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older with access to reliable transportation (not all locations are accessible via public transit).

Sales & Marketing: Ticket Sales
College Ambassador - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

Ambassadors selected to participate in this program will gain hands on experience in sports marketing and sales through creating and executing unique on-campus programs, managing social media messages and attending sales meeting with D.C. United ticket sales representatives. This program will start August 8th and run for a total of eight weeks with a focus specifically on the organization’s “College Night” program taking place in the Fall on Wednesday, September 28th.

D.C. United is looking to hire College Ambassadors at the following colleges in the DMV area:

Educational Elements: 

Through the D.C. United College Brand Ambassador Program, participants will garner the necessary skills and real-world experience to pursue a career in sports marketing and sales. Interns will attend meetings with D.C. United front office employees, develop marketing strategies for their local campus communities and discover the analytics and financial return on investment for D.C. United’s “College Night” program. Interns will leave the program with relevant metrics to show real-world experience as they pursue full-time employment in the sports field.

Program Requirements: 

  • Attend College Ambassador program kickoff meeting
  • Join weekly ticket sales conference call to discuss best practices and strategies
  • Join meetings with assigned D.C. United ticket sales contact as needed
  • Plan and execute on-campus events at local college and universities

Management Structure:

  • Interns will report directly to D.C. United’ Group Sales Manager, James Armold
  • Account Executives, responsible for individual colleges will work closely with their school’s dedicated College Brand Ambassador Intern, including a weekly call or meeting

Incentive Structure:

Two students per school will be selected as College Brand Ambassadors.  D.C. United’s College Ambassadors will have the opportunity to reach financial incentives based upon certain sales thresholds through actively pushing the College Night program on individual campuses in the Washington D.C. region. The incentive will serve as increased motivation to meet sales goals for the September 28th game against the Columbus Crew.

  • Research and assess local and national market for potential partnership opportunities

Job Description

The Director of Corporate Partnerships will be responsible for generating new business revenue with local, regional, and national high-level partners through the sale of integrated sponsorship packages of Minnesota United FC-related assets.  The Director will sell fully integrated marketing, media, and promotional programs that include marketing rights, signage, game sponsorships, promotions, event marketing, and digital assets. The Director will work to develop and maintain strategic partnerships that will transition with the Club from the NASL to MLS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•         Oversee the execution of a successful sales plan that meets company and department objectives and sales goals

•         Generate new corporate sponsorships and media partnerships for the club through prospecting, maintaining existing relationships and cold calling

•         Identify key open categories and new categories as prospective new business leads

•         Establish strong working relationships with local, regional, and national companies to understand individual marketing and business goals and initiatives

•         Develop unique and individualized proposals and sales presentations for individual new business prospects

•         Present, negotiate and close high-level sponsorship proposals and presentations to new business prospects  

•         Negotiate sponsor contracts pending final approval by the Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships

•         Work to continuously develop and implement new partnership platforms and assets to increase incremental revenue opportunities

•         Renew and grow existing corporate sponsorship and media partnerships through continued outstanding service and upselling of additional sponsorship assets into current partnership agreement

•         Work with partnership marketing and other organizational departments to implement programs and assets that support partnerships

•         Represent Minnesota United FC in the community and business environment when involved in civic and professional organizations

•         Work game days, weekends, and special events to entertain existing partners and new business prospects

Requirements

•         A minimum of 5 years (8 preferred) of extensive and proven experience in a business sales or development role 

•         Experience selling advertising, sponsorship, digital, and promotional programs

•         Experience generating clients through cold calling

•         Experience developing a marketing/events strategy for clients and executing against that plan

•         Demonstrated success in personally developing business in the media, sport sponsorship or entertainment fields preferred

•         Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Administration/General Management: Human Resources Generalist

The Director, Human Resources is responsible for maintaining and implementing all facets of D.C. United’s HR platform.  He/she will partner with upper management to build strong relationships with internal departments and their employees with focus being on employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide and administer full spectrum of HR services for 70+ full-time staff and 200+ part-time staff
  • Select and administer employee benefits packages during Open Enrollment
  • On board new employees and initiate set-up of health plans, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, FSA, life insurance, and benefit pay plans
  • Process Payroll including updating of employee records, direct deposit, tax exemptions, etc.

Intern - Academy Operations - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

The Academy Operations Internship  is a part time, seasonal position, working all D.C. United Academy matches during the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Season.


The Event Operations staff will work closely with the Academy Director, Academy Manager and Coordinator in the logistical set-up and tear down of academy matches.  Candidates must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weeekends, and holidays.  The U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy season runs from September  – December candidates must able to commit to the Fall Season for at least 90% of games.  All D.C. United internships are unpaid.
 


Specific tasks will include

·         Set-up break down for all Academy home matches

·         Attend Friday training sessions  to help prepare jerseys, vans, matchday items

·         Coordinate with full time staff members to ensure successful event set-up and execution

·         Adhere to a strict event timeline for matchday

·         Consistent season-long commitment is mandatory

We are looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in grassroots marketing, event management, game day operations and day-to-day business operations. Essential Functions:

The primary responsibility is to provide weekday and game day assistance to the Marketing Department. Interns will be expected to assist with the following:

    Job Description:

    Merchandise Assistants are responsible for selling club merchandise on game days.  This is a paid, part time, seasonal position that begins mid-April and reports to the Merchandise Manager.

    Responsibilities:

    • Set up and tear-down merchandise tents on game days.
    • Sell and upsell club merchandise.
    • Restock items that have sold during games.
    • Be on time and dressed properly for each shift.
    • Assist with Inventory.
    • Be friendly to any and all fans in attendance of each game.
    • Be the face of Minnesota United FC and represent the club in both a professional and personable way.

      Requirements:
    • Retail experience (apparel experience is a plus).
    • Personable and outgoing.
    • Available for all home matches.  Each shift averages 7 hours.
    • Able to stand for long periods of time.
    • Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Able to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    • Must be 18 years of age or older

    Job Description:
    This is a full-time, entry-level position. Your primary focus will be on selling Minnesota United FC season ticket, group packages and hospitality offerings. You will receive dedicated training and you will learn techniques to maximize your verbal and written business communication skills. Prospects are targeted through new business initiatives, networking events and mining our current database via phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings. This position is located in Golden Valley, MN.

    The Ticket Operations Intern position is an entry-level, part-time position. The primary focus is assisting the Ticket Operations Manager with growing and cleaning the sales database, creating/editing reports, and assisting in the box office on game days.  This position is highly analytical and technology-based, but requires business development sense and an entrepreneurial spirit as well. 

    Responsibilities: 

    ·         Create and maintain patron records in CRM system

    ·         Assist with managing the sales database

    ·         Enter data captured from events, contests, and games into the system

    ·         Develop new leads and enter them into the system

    ·         Organize, set up, troubleshoot and tear down the box office area and equipment to be ready for game day needs

    ·         On game days, assist in the box office, answer questions for patrons, and run the ticketing system

    ·         Create and analyze complex sales reports for use by upper management

    Ticket Seller - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

    Summary

    This part-time position is dedicated to selling matchday tickets for all D.C. United home games and all ticketed soccer events at RFK Stadium.  As the ticket seller is an intial touchpoint when fans arrive at the stadium, we are looking for friendly people who can ensure all fans have a positive experience.  Positions are paid on an hourly basis. This role requires shifts on weekends, evenings and holidays.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for selling available matchday tickets.
    • Effectively communicate ticket pricing and available seating sections to customers.
    • Process cash and credit card ticket sales transactions.
    • Provide excellent front line customer service.
    • Understand and adhere to D.C. United employee policies and procedures.
    • Help with inquiries from all fans and ticket holders.
