The Columbus Crew Athletic Training Internship looks to provide athletic training specialization through a focused, hands on curriculum that blends clinical approaches with functional, prevention based sports training within a professional soccer environment. The program provides students with the opportunity to further their skills in management and rehabilitation of injuries but emphasizes the importance of injury prevention methods while all along working with Columbus Crew athletes. Interns are also provided with insight into the role athletic training plays in the dynamics of a professional team and business.

Hispanic Business Development Internship - Columbus Crew (Columbus, OH)

This internship will allow you to gain extraordinary experience in sports business by assisting and being a key member of the Hispanic Business Development Department under the supervision of the Director. The assistance include participation and coordination of daily departmental needs including but not limited to: assistance with the administration, management and logistics for Hispanic community outreach initiatives such as; youth soccer camps, school assembly visits, in store promotional events, Copa Victoria Adult Hispanic Soccer Tournament, Día del Niño, Cinco de Mayo, Festival Latino, Hispanic Heritage Mont, etc. Furthermore, internship includes duties in ticket and sponsorship sales, calling prospects creating ticket buy awareness, generation of leads thru multiple registration mechanism and accuracy in database management.

 

One key element of this internship is public relations support. Candidate will assist providing translation of post game reports, press releases and general news to engage these outlets to cover the Crew. General office responsibility work and be willing to assist other organization’s departments if available. Also, this person will assist in all elements of game day operations prior and during Crew home games.

 

Candidates should be customer service and goal oriented, well organized, enthusiastic, focused, professional and committed to the growth and success of Crew Soccer. Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish, preferable candidates to have clear cultural understanding and knowledge of the Hispanic market and community.

Hispanic Business Development Coordinator - Columbus Crew (Columbus, OH)

The Hispanic Business Development Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Hispanic Business Development. This position will be responsible for establishing and assisting in strategic planning and execution as it relates to ticket sales, sponsorships, Hispanic marketing, community outreach events and Spanish media support. Listed below are the responsibilities and qualifications expected of this position.


Job Description / Responsibilities
• Generate revenue through the creation, development and negotiation and sale of ticket and sponsorship sales within the Hispanic community
• Assist Director of Hispanic Business Development in the development, enhancement and production of promotional and collateral materials.
• Generate net revenue through the creation, development, negotiation and sale of sponsorship, advertising, premium seats, hospitality and merchandising packages.
• Create, coordinate and implement effective marketing techniques and campaigns within the Hispanic community.
• Assist in the developing of systems to grow database of prospects and leads, manage and strengthen current client base relationships as well as involvement in the management and growth of Hispanic supporters group.
• Assist in the development, sale and management of current Crew Hispanic assets such as Copa Victoria, Copa de Salsa, Futbolito, Hispanic Heritage Night, etc.
• Work with other departments to maximize cross-selling opportunities and the sharing of new ideas.
• Coordinate special events including game presentations, coach and player appearances, speaking engagements, corporate outings, affinity programs, community outreach initiatives and recreational tournaments.
• Assist with game operations, event management, guest and club services and licensing for team and stadium events (eg. plaza set-up, ticket sales in box office, etc.).
• Promote The Crew by representation in community activities and civic organizations.
• Assist in the marketing and promotion of other elite games and tournaments such as CONCACAF Champions league, US Open Cup, international exhibitions, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
• At least two years of sales, marketing or related business experience, preferable in sports industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sports management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Clear cultural knowledge and understanding of the Hispanic market.
• Must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Creativity and entrepreneurial tendencies are absolutely required.
• Proficiency with computer applications and general office software programs is necessary.

We are accepting a limited number of applications for the internship program. All prospective interns must be juniors or seniors in an undergraduate program in the fall or seniors intending to enter a graduate school. Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States. First consideration will be given to:

Undergraduate students with an overall GPA of at least 3.0
Graduate students with a GPA of at least 3.3

The Columbus Crew are offering internships in the following areas:

Ticket Sales Intern: Work with Director of Sales & Sales Representatives to support all seat sales efforts, customer service and in-game experience. Strong computer background required. Required to sometimes work outside normal business hours.

Communications & PR Intern: Assist the PR department with the up-to-date news with the Crew.

Marketing Intern: Assist the in reaching out to the community though the grassroots marketing efforts. Staff Mobile Marketing Tour along with asisting in all elements of game day operations.

Ticket Office Intern: Assist the ticket office process orders for tickets. Also, assist with game day selling of tickets.

Stadium Operations Intern: Assist Facility Operations with day to day activities, assist with event activities, participate in special projects, and perform other duties as assigned.

Merchandising Intern: Assist our merchandising department with different inventory needs. Also, you will have the chance to assist with developing and excuting merchandise promotions

Camps Intern: Assist in the running of camps from the administrative standpoint.

Team Operations Intern: Assist in day to day operation of the team. From the equipment, training, facility and team operations.
