  • Accounting – Housed in Crew SC’s Finance Department, this internship offers the opportunity to learn and develop skills in accounting as well as exposure to a professional front office.
  • Communications - the Communications Intern plays a role in all departmental activities, including day-to-day media relations, player communications, Matchday press functions and content development.
  • Community Relations & Foundation Supporting Crew SC’s Community Relations & Foundation Department., this internship offers the opportunity to learn and develop skills in donation requests, organization wide volunteer programs, player appearances and Columbus Crew SC Foundation events.

  • Grassroots Marketing – Assist with development of Crew SC grassroots initiatives and extending the Columbus Crew SC brand within the state of Ohio by contributing to key events, building relationships with event stakeholders and researching new techniques, approaches and set-ups.
  • Sports Turf Management -  Responsible for the upkeep of MAPFRE Stadium’s pitch, Stadium landscape and the EAS Training Facility. The Sports Turf Management Internship provides students with hands-on experience with professional sports turf management.
  • Human Resources - The HR internship offers an introduction to the role of an HR generalist as well as exposure to basic Human Resources practices and procedures.
  • Information Technology (IT) – Gain practical experience in desktop support and troubleshooting, network and server management as well as event set-up and maintenance.
  • Marketing - Experience and assist with the day-to-day Club marketing activations and responsibilities. The Marketing Intern focuses on expansion of the Crew SC brand in the broader market as well as Crew SC Matches.
  • Match Activation – Involvement in a variety of sports marketing related experiences, specifically in event production, supporter engagement and promotions. 
  • Matchday Communications – Involvement in all departmental activities on Crew SC Matchdays, including, but not limited to media credentialing, check-in, photo marshal assistance, statistical creation and distribution as well as post match quote transcription.
  • Photography - Assist the Club’s creative services in cataloguing and managing photo databases as well as photographing matches and other Crew SC events.
  • Player Development - Experience the day-to-day operation of the Player Development system and Crew SC Camp Programming. The Player Development internship is a great way to interact and collaborate across the Club.
  • Sales & Service - Gain valuable experience a professional sales setting while learning from current sales leaders and engaging with supporters.
  • Stadium Operations - With a focus on safety and security, this internship offers practical experience in ensuring supporters and guests’ positive experience at MAPFRE Stadium.

MAPFRE Stadium is currently seeking part-time seasonal Event Day Ticketing Service Representatives for the upcoming 2017 season. Ticketing Service Representatives are primarily responsible for processing single ticket sales, distributing Will Call tickets, and assisting customers at Guest Services at MAPFRE Stadium. Ticketing Service Representatives are often the first to greet supporters and guests and must possess superior customer service skills in order to provide a first class impression to customers. Ideal applicants must have strong communication skills in order to provide accurate information to guests in regards to Crew SC matches and MAPFRE Stadium events, promotions, pricing and policies.

Event Day Ticketing Service Representatives’ hours will vary depending on the MAPFRE Stadium event schedule. Ticketing Service Representatives are expected to work at least 75% of Crew SC home matches and MAPFRE Stadium events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process advance and day-of ticket sales for all matches and events at MAPFRE Stadium
  • Assist customers using the Ticketmaster operating system (both Classic and Archtics)
  • Become knowledgeable in pricing, discounts, promotions, MAPFRE  Stadium policies and procedures
  • Sort, file and print customer will call
  • Assist in Ticket Operations’ match-day event setup and breakdown
  • Process multiple forms of payments, including cash and assist with balancing at the end of each event
  • Assist in resolving patron conflicts and complaints
  • Other duties as assigned

Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Electronic ticketing experience, particularly in the Ticketmaster operating system preferred
  • Prior experience in customer service or retail environment a plus
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, including strong verbal communication skills.
  • Fluently bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

MAPFRE Stadium is seeking part-time seasonal Experience Team Members for the 2017 season. Experience Team Members serve in an important capacity including Ushers, Greeters and Ticket Takers among other guest service roles.

The Experience Team plays a vital role when it comes to creating a clean, safe, and enjoyable experience for our fans and guests. As the first point of contact for guest requests and needs, courteous hospitality must be exhibited at all times. Experience Team Members are encouraged to be proactive in every area while demonstrating a professional manner.

All Experience Team Members are responsible for providing exceptional customer service at MAPFRE Stadium by making every effort to ensure a positive guest experience. The Experience Team serves an essential function by hosting guests visiting the stadium and by utilizing an ever-growing knowledge of our facility and events.

The hours for Experience Team Member positions are highly variable and dependent on the Crew SC and MAPFRE Stadium event schedule. Experience Team Members are required to work events in their entirety including pre- and post-event responsibilities as well as at least 80% of Crew SC home matches and MAPFRE Stadium events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide highest level of customer service to ensure guests’ expectations are met or exceeded and their overall experience at MAPFRE Stadium is positive and memorable
  • Create a welcoming experience for guests
  • Facilitate all guest-related matters in a professional and courteous manner through creative problem-solving
  • Scan tickets for entry with a smile and friendly greeting
  • Check tickets and direct guests to appropriate seats in all areas of MAPFRE Stadium
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the venue policies, procedures and event information
  • Enforce policies during an event to assure the safety and security of all guests
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all patrons and fellow staff members

Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and must be legally eligible for employment in the United States (proof of eligibility will be required prior to beginning work)
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 80% of all scheduled MAPFRE Stadium events. The Major League Soccer (MLS) season begins in March and generally ends in November
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, including strong verbal communication skills. Second language a plus
  • Ability to maintain friendly demeanor and professional behavior with guests, supporters and staff in pressure-filled situations
  • Ability to take on any role within the Experience Team (and switch roles as necessary) depending on event requirements

MAPFRE Stadium is looking for Seasonal Facilities Assistants for the 2017 season to help cultivate an outstanding environment for supporters, athletes and entertainers. The Facilities Assistant position is an excellent way to gain hands-on experience in day-to-day operations and maintenance duties as well as event production. Seasonal Facilities Assistants will work closely with the Facility Manager and Facility Coordinator.

The position requires 20-30 hours per week and at least 80% of Crew SC home matches and MAPFRE Stadium events. Work is often in the evenings and on weekends and the position has flexible hours to accommodate an academic schedule.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Event set-up, including changeovers and conversions
  • Operation of facility equipment and tools safely and proficiently
  • Hands-on preparation for all MAPFRE Stadium events, including concerts, festivals and Crew SC home matches
  • Installation, repair and removal of LED field-board system
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties

Columbus Crew SC is searching for part-time seasonal Grassroots Marketing Team members for the 2017 season for brand expansion & data collection via community event activations, MAPFRE Stadium events, home matches, and other special events. This opportunity offers frequent interaction with Crew SC supporters, guests and members of the greater Columbus community.

To join the Crew SC Grassroots Marketing Team presented by MAPFRE Insurance, candidates must be students actively pursuing education or recent graduates. Team members are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all Crew SC home matches and MAPFRE Stadium events and a minimum of 75% of other events. Hours for this position vary throughout the season and include many nights and weekends. The position requires variable hours with approximately 5-10 hours a week in the spring and 18 - 20 hours a week in the summer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Marketing Department in executing Crew SC promotions
  • Implement strategies to optimize data capture during all community events and Crew SC home matches
  • Assist with logistics for Crew SC community events including setup, execution and tear down

Columbus Crew SC Grounds Crew, winner of the Turf of the Year Award in 2015, is looking for talented groundskeepers to join our team. The Grounds Assistant is responsible for the upkeep of the MAPFRE Stadium field and landscape as well as the EAS Training Facility.

The seasonal position requires 20-25 hours per week and all Crew SC home matches and MAPFRE Stadium events. Work is often in the evenings and on weekends and the position has flexible hours to accommodate an academic schedule.

Columbus Crew SC is offering an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach paid internship within the CCSC Performance Department. This internship offers a stipend and reports to the High Performance Director and Head of Strength and Conditioning.

2017 internships are available for recent graduates or students actively pursuing education and academic credit may be available. The internship begins in March 2017, requires approximately 25-29 hours per week and is based at MAPFRE Stadium and the EAS Training Facility at Obetz. 

Opportunities & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in designing and implementing individual performance programs for the first team both in the gym and on the field
  • Assist with CCSC athletic testing protocols
  • Assist with rehabilitation programs
  • Assist with the daily collection of readiness to train data
  • Assist with preparation of the nutrition/supplementation program
  • Assist with documenting all workouts in data management system

  • Must have CSCS, PES or other comparable certification
  • Demonstrated ambition, energy and enthusiasm with a passion for athletic performance enhancement
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs in a team environment
  • Prior work or volunteer experience in a rehabilitation facility or other related experience a plus
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a high performance environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn player monitoring software and video analysis or similar
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, including strong verbal communication skills. Second language a plus
  • Demonstrated professionalism with both internal and external audiences
  • Able to work independently and with a team
  • Familiarity with functional training methods such as Gary Gray or Frans Bosch preferred
  • Knowledge of Columbus Crew SC and Major League Soccer preferred
  • Must be available some evenings and weekends
