Facility Operations/Security: Event Guest Relations
Front Desk Coordinator - The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Chicago, IL)

The Chicago Fire is seeking energetic, outgoing, and soccer-passionate individuals to represent the club at our brand new soccer facility on the Northside of Chicago - The PrivateBank Fire Pitch. These candidates will be an integral part of the team, setting the tone for all customers (soccer players young and old, parents, fans, etc.) who walk through our doors. This part-time, paid position aims to provide those seeking future sports employment with the opportunity to interact within the world of sports in Chicago.  Please Note:  Most shifts run 8:45a-3:30pm on weekdays, flexibility to work weekends when needed is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):

  • Represent the Chicago Fire at our facility, while interacting with adult players, children and parents
  • Welcome our guests with a friendly smile, and proactively help with any enquiries
  • Assist with inventory and restocking of merchandise and food items sold at the facility
  • Proactively trouble shoot any issues and help to solve them going forward
  • Be knowledgable about the rules of the facility and help to enforce them
  • Take incoming calls or deliveries with a professional attitude and direct their needs to the proper person on staff
  • Handle complaints with professionalism, and aim to turn any negative interaction into a positive one
  • Assist with facility operations such as set up, tear down, cleaning and organization
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues at all times to solve challenges
  • Stay focused and positive at all times
  • Serve as a knowledgeable source on club news and happenings in the community
  • Have a full understanding of our facility programming, and be able to engage potential customers about it
  • Represent the Chicago Fire and its respective partners/sponsors with enthusiasm, energy, pride, passion and professionalism

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing or already completed a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Sports Management, Hospitality or related field
  • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
  • Candidates must live in the Chicagoland area
  • Outstanding communication skills and a positive, energetic personality
  • Ability to respond to any situation quickly and professionally
  • Comfort with public interactions and sharing knowledge of the Chicago Fire
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external staff in addition to clients in a respectable, professional and enthusiastic manner
  • Knowledge of the Chicago Fire, Major League Soccer, global soccer and the Chicagoland area
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs

Internships: Any Internship
Graphic Designer Intern - Winter/Spring 2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview/Chicago, Il)

Expectations: The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task. Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Responsibilites:

  • Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
  • Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
  • Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
  • Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
  • Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house
  • Prioritize and filter work load coming from all departments through a design request form system
  • Design advertisements, print materials, still digital imaging and web graphics
  • Meet all advertising and print deadlines
  • Contribute to the invention and implementation of marketing/communications initiatives

Requirements

  • Applicants MUST receive college credit for the internship
  • Practice a professional attitude when working with outside sources (ie. publications, print partners, creative agencies, vendors)
  • Develop good rapport with other members of the Marketing Department
  • Maintain an approachable persona as well as organized and respectful communication with all other departments
  • Work closely with the Graphic Designer to ensure a cohesive message and look across all design projects and materials
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Programs, HTML a plus
  • Strong understanding of soccer culture and market preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation

Group Ticket Sales Representative - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Aggressively prospect new group sales opportunities, by conducting research 
  • Build strong relationships with assigned account base through proactive communication, including seat visits, phone calls, emails meetings and other communication channels
  • Participate in a weekly minimum of 5 outside/inside appointments per week in addition to a minimum of 50 outbound sales calls each day with the goal of maximizing all ticket revenue, with a focus on group ticket sales
  • Meet or exceed quarterly sales goals and weekly activity requirements
  • Work assigned sales, promotional and team events for the purpose of developing new prospects and referral opportunities during games and outside normal business hours
  • Identify business opportunities by establishing professional and personal networks, proactively soliciting and following-up on any sales leads and representing the Chicago Fire Soccer Club at assigned functions
  • Service and renew existing group sales accounts
  • Collaborate with team members in developing new group sales programs and enhancing existing programs
  • Support a positive sales culture within the Fire sales team, as well as the entire front office
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Group Sales

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Previous Group Ticket Sales experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Bi-lingual speaker preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Familiarity with Archtics and Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community – Little Sparks Coach

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community are looking for enthusiastic coaches to join our growing team to coach Little Sparks (2-5 year olds) and Soccer School (6-16 year olds) programming throughout Chicagoland.

As a coach for Soccer In The Community, you will be expected to deliver a fun and engaging soccer experience, represent the Chicago Fire Soccer Club in a positive and professional manner, and promote current and future programs.

Little Sparks is available to children ages 2-5 year olds so therefore the expectation is that coaches are willing and able to keep the young children engaged while introducing them to the basic components of soccer.

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community coaches have two main responsibilities;

·       Players – Implement the Little Sparks curriculum to the high standards expected of the Chicago Fire.

·       Parents – Be able to answer questions about current and future programs.

Payment is based on experience and coaching qualifications.

As a representative of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, all coaches are expected to deliver quality, thorough sessions on the field, while being an ambassador for the Club off the field, within the community.

Reports To: Manager of Season Ticket Services

Expectations:  Season Ticket Service Representatives are responsible for relationship management and sales amongst the Season Ticket Holder base and implementing the Chicago Fire Soccer Club’s “CHAMPS” Fan Experience.

Responsibilities:

• Increase retention rates - actively work toward hitting department and individual renewal/sales goals
• Build strong relationships with defined account portfolio through proactive communication, including seat/suite visits, phone calls, emails, dinners, events and other communication channels, as part of the Season Ticket Holder touchpoint plan
• Meet defined sales goals by conducting a yearly renewal campaign to retain current season ticket business, and by consistently cross selling group tickets, season tickets and premium inventory
• Focus on an exceptional Fan Experience on match day

• Maintain up to date knowledge and effectively and enthusiastically communicate all team happenings, events, member benefits and stadium details that are relevant to defined account portfolio
• Ensure customer data and profile requirements are accurately represented in CRM database
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Manager of Ticket Sales & Services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Sales & Customer Service background
• At least two years’ experience of client relationship management or comparable experience
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer services and organization skills
• Willingness to learn and take feedback in a fast paced, performance driven environment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays

Player Operations: Coach
Summer Camp Coach - Soccer In The Community (SITC) - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community – Summer Coaching Positions

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community are looking for passionate coaches to join the team to work on the Club's camp programs across the Midwest, starting this summer. The length of the positions available range from 4 to 10 weeks, between June and August.

As a member of the Soccer In The Community coaching team, you will travel to and coach on weekly Chicago Fire Summer Camps across the Midwest, in Chicagoland, IL, WI, MI, IA, and IN.

Chicago Fire Summer Camp programs work with players of all ages and abilities, therefore the expectation is that coaches are willing and able to work with different levels of players, ages and are experienced in a variety of on/off field situations.

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community coaches have three main responsibilities;

  • Players - Plan, deliver and review sessions which a focus on the development of each child. Creating a positive and enjoyable environment to allow players to express themselves is essential.
  • Coaches - Providing education and guidance to volunteer parent coaches to help engagement and retention. 
  • Clubs - Work with the host club to build long-term, sustainable soccer programs that benefit the local community.

Payment is based on experience and coaching qualifications.

Youth Development Internship - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Youth Development Intern –  (May-August)

Expectations:  Is it your dream to work in the sports industry? If so an internship with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club can be the first mile of your marathon!  As an Intern with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, you will aid the club in continuing to strive to be a premier club on and off the pitch, you will play a large role in the achievement of this goal by executing projects and by being a part of the day to day activities of the Club.  We are seeking interns that will take steps on their own to grow and hone their craft. As an Intern, you will be expected to give maximum effort every day you come to work. 

Responsibilities: 

Emerging Talent Program ID Camp

  • Issue invites to club and collate player acceptances;
  • Handle all communication and questions from club personnel and families
  • Devise and execute a touch point plan with visiting players;
  • Point person with Lake Forest Academy;
  • Point person for coaching staff, camp staff, guest speakers, college coaches and visiting teams;
  • Run check-in and collect paperwork;
  • Update social media outlets;
  • Ensure all rooms are set-up for off-field workshops;
  • Confirm player rankings with coaching staff.

Valspar Invitational

  • Assist with set-up of online tournament registration and software;
  • Manage the registration process and handle all questions related to the event;
  • Liaise with graphic design to create tournament collateral;
  • Work with communications and marketing departments to create and execute a detailed promotional plan;
  • Liaise with corporate partnerships to ensure all necessary requirements are being met regarding specific corporate partners and their event activation;
  • Work with tournament vendors to book rentals of necessary equipment;
  • Communicate with the hotel assignor on all tournament needs;
  • Communicate with the referee assignor to confirm specific requirements;
  • Lead all communication to club contacts regarding tournament collateral, scheduling and other event information;
  • Assist with setting the tournament brackets and games schedule;
  • Work with the operations department to confirm the event staffing and roles & responsibilities;
  • Work with the operations department to confirm the plan for the Firefest activation;
  • Assist with the management of the tournament check-in;
  • Assist with pulling together all the products for the tournament bags;
  • Assist with ordering the tournament t-shirts and assigning sizes to each team;
  • Work with Fire Juniors clubs to provide tournament volunteers each day;
  • Liaise with community relations to confirm the sparky and player appearances

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for Internship   
  • Students should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, Sports management or any related field
  • Students should be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Students should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work in a collaborative work environment
  • Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends & holidays
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 Lbs
