Chicago Fire Foundation-Community Relations Intern - (Spring/Summer 2018) - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Expectations:  Is it your dream to work in the sports industry? If so an internship with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club can be the first mile of your marathon!  As an Intern with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, you will aid the club in continuing to strive to be a premier club on and off of the pitch, you will play a large role in the achievement of this goal by executing projects and by being a part of the day to day activities of the Club.  We are seeking interns that will take steps on their own to grow and hone their craft.  As an Intern you will be expected to give maximum effort every day you come to work. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordination of game day 50-50 raffle program
  • Coordinate scheduling game-day volunteer corps with Coordinator
  • Assist with charity section of website, FB and other social media for Foundation
  • Assist with donation requests including data collection and fulfillment
  • Assist with development and execution of organization wide volunteer opportunities and programs
  • Assist in development and execution of Foundation and Community Relations programming with  partners (Ex: City Year, LTS tournament, Practice in the Community, etc)
  • Chicago Fire Foundation special events including annual luncheon, auctions, marathon, etc.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and grant writing
  • Assist in coordination of player appearances

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Qualifications:

Title: Community Ambassador Coordinator (Internship position)
Reports To: Manager of Community Ambassador
Expectations:
Looking for a passionate and hands-on individual to assist with the implementation and management of community programming across Chicagoland and the Midwest.
As a Community Ambassador Coordinator Intern, you will focus on building strong and lasting relationships within communities, providing wider opportunities for children and adults to interact with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club.
In this position, an intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a dynamic team environment, supporting the execution of the club’s professional, youth soccer outreach initiatives and act as a brand ambassador for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club within the community.
Responsibilities:
• Support the execution and management of all programming – including marketing, communication, staffing, equipment and invoicing
• Community coaching to support the club’s outreach initiatives
• Assist with gameday activation at Toyota Park
• Support other departments through assisting with club events and programming
• To be a brand ambassador for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club
Qualifications:
• Internship must be for college credit

Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a smart, service-orientated, passionate individual who is interested in joining the Fire family. Our department organizes and coordinates adult recreational soccer leagues for coed and men's teams. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 15-25 hours/week).

CFRS is the largest adult rec soccer provider in Chicago. Our home - CIBC Fire Pitch - is the premier soccer facility in the city. As we grow, we're looking for driven young professionals to join our team. Let us know if that sounds like you!

Fan Experience Coordinator - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

We are looking for a smart, service passionate individual who is interested in joining the Fire in the Fan Experience/Customer Service department as a Part-Time Coordinator. This department focuses on improving the overall gameday experience for the fan through building vendor relationships, tracking fan feedback and executing the Chicago Fire CHAMPS service and recognition program.  The coordinator will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours a week), including 100% attendance for Chicago Fire home games. 

Responsibilities:

- Assist with tracking fan feedback on the Master Experience Log

- Input Secret Shopper scores and build reports

- Create Product Knowledge questions for game day staff and test during the game

- Compile information for the Fan Experience Newsletter for each game

- Check operating and cleaning conditions of stadium and suites pre-game and post-game

- Assist with contacting Volunteer Shoppers and reporting their feedback

Front Desk Coordinator - CIBC Fire Pitch - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Chicago, IL)

The Chicago Fire is seeking energetic, outgoing, and soccer-passionate individuals to represent the club at our  soccer facility on the Northside of Chicago - CIBC Fire Pitch. These candidates will be an integral part of the team, setting the tone for all customers (soccer players young and old, parents, fans, etc.) who walk through our doors. This part-time, paid position aims to provide those seeking future sports employment with the opportunity to interact within the world of sports in Chicago.  

RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):

  • Represent the Chicago Fire at our facility, while interacting with adult players, children and parents
  • Welcome our guests with a friendly smile, and proactively help with any enquiries
  • Assist with inventory and restocking of merchandise and food items sold at the facility
  • Proactively trouble shoot any issues and help to solve them going forward
  • Be knowledgable about the rules of the facility and help to enforce them
  • Take incoming calls or deliveries with a professional attitude and direct their needs to the proper person on staff
  • Handle complaints with professionalism, and aim to turn any negative interaction into a positive one
  • Assist with facility operations such as set up, tear down, cleaning and organization

Graphic Designer Intern (Spring/Summer 2018) - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview/Chicago, Il)

Expectations: The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task.

Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Responsibilites:

  • Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
  • Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
  • Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
  • Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
  • Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house
  • Prioritize and filter work load coming from all departments through a design request form system
  • Design advertisements, print materials, still digital imaging and web graphics
  • Meet all advertising and print deadlines
  • Contribute to the invention and implementation of marketing/communications initiatives

Requirements

  • Applicants MUST receive college credit for the internship

DESCRIPTION:

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student who is interested in gaining experience in marketing and brand strategy, matchday production, and event & entertainment marketing. Students must be available at least 20-25 hours per week. Students MUST RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT to qualify for this internship. 

POSITION PURPOSE: 

The primary responsibility is to provide weekday and matchday assistance to the Marketing Department. The intern will be expected to: 

- Assist in marketing plan development and execution, including matchday 
- Operate Chicago Fire Junior Supporters Club 
- Assist in design and distribution of marketing collateral 
- Assist in planning and execution of grassroots marketing efforts, including managing lead collection, distribution of promotional items, and creating staff information sheets 
- Assist with strategic partnership fulfillment and agreements 
- Assist with TV/Radio ad management 
- Research regarding further marketing opportunities for the Chicago Fire
- Matchday operations responsibilities (*may require some heavy lifting), which includes working all weekend and weeknight games. Matchday duties may also include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown 
- Some responsibilities will include clerical work, such as filing, data entry, inventory, copying and correspondence

Please Note:  This is a Part-Time Position, $11.00/hour + Commission

Reports to:  Manager of Outside Sales

 Description:  The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking an Outside Sales Representative. The Chicago Fire is seeking energetic, outgoing, and soccer-passionate individuals to represent the club at home game and events throughout the Chicagoland community. These candidates will be an integral part of all grassroots sales efforts via brand building and driving ticket sales throughout the Chicagoland area. This part-time, paid position aims to provide those seeking future sports employment with excellent resume-building grassroots sales, marketing, and events experience with a professional team.

 Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

  • Represent the Chicago Fire Soccer Club at soccer and non-soccer related events such as youth soccer tournaments, festivals, picnics and community events throughout the Chicagoland area year round
  • Raise brand awareness and sell tickets at grassroots events
  • Exemplify the core characteristics of a strong sales culture  e.g. strong interpersonal skills, prompt and professional follow-through, openness to new ideas and suggestions, as well as exhibiting constant “Fire” enthusiasm toward internal and external contacts
  • Create and foster a positive sales culture within the sales team, as well as the entire front office

To assist with the implementation and management of all seasonal programming by Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community in Chicagoland and the Midwest.
In this position, the candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a dynamic team environment, supporting the execution of the club’s professional, youth soccer outreach initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Support the execution and management of all programming – including marketing, communication, staffing, equipment and invoicing
• Community coaching to support the club’s outreach initiatives
• Assist with gameday activation at Toyota Park
• Support other departments through assisting with club events and programming
• To be a brand ambassador for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club
Qualifications:
• Internship must be for college credit
• Ability to work in a team/collaborative work environment is required along with strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and planning skills
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation

Video Production Intern - The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Chicago, IL)

The PrivateBank Fire Pitch is looking for a creative, hard working, individual who is interested in joining the Chicago Fire family. The Fire Pitch is the premier soccer-first facility in Chicago.

The Fire Pitch is located on the north-side of Chicago, just two miles west of Wrigley Field. The facility features two full-sized soccer fields, a state-of-the-art fitness center, bar/restaurant, events space, and an outdoor patio. The intern will work with full-time staff members to shoot/edit videos to promote all aspects of the facility through social media. Examples here. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (15-25 hours/week).

Youth Development Intern – Job Description (September-December)

 

Expectations:  Is it your dream to work in the sports industry? If so an internship with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club can be the first mile of your marathon!  As an Intern with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, you will aid the club in continuing to strive to be a premier club on and off the pitch, you will play a large role in the achievement of this goal by executing projects and by being a part of the day to day activities of the Club.  We are seeking interns that will take steps on their own to grow and hone their craft. As an Intern, you will be expected to give maximum effort every day you come to work. 

Responsibilities: 

Emerging Talent Program

  • Issue invites to club and collate player acceptances for tournaments;
  • Responsible for providing updates on player registration;
  • Be the point of contact for all communication and questions from club personnel and families;
  • Be the point of contact for all hotels and other space used during the events;
  • Devise an operations plan during the events that includes all items related to travel, hotel, transportation, meals, training’s, free time and game days;
  • Collect paperwork from players and coaches and upload to the online registration system;
  • Create player passes for each team;
  • Update social media outlets and;
  • Collect player profiles and put together team profiles for college coaches.

 

Pro Soccer Combine and College Combines

·         Create and manage the online player registration’s by providing daily registration updates and taking a lead on all customer service related issues;

·         Be the point of contact for all questions and queries;

·         Update all prior databases with additional contact information as provided;

·         Liaise with graphic design to create all collateral;

·         Work with communications department to create a press release on the event’s as well as the posting of event information to all social media platforms and websites;

·         Take a lead with e-marketing campaigns;

·         Create list of operations and non-technical equipment needs and liaise with the operations department on collating;

·         Work with Operations and Fan Experience departments to confirm event staffing and their responsibilities;

·         Create player assessment forms;

·         Assist in the creation of an operations plan for each event;

·         Attend site visits of facilities in preparation of each event and;

·         Assist in all day of activities for each event as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for Internship   
  • Students should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, Sports management or any related field
  • Students should be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Students should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work in a collaborative work environment
  • Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends & holidays
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
