Title: Corporate Sales

Reports to: Vice President of Corporate Partnerships

Job Responsibilities:

He or She will be primarily responsible for the following: Generating leads through networking and research, developing new business, creating renewal proposals, conducting client presentations, managing fulfillment costs and negotiating contracts to meet and exceed annual revenue goals.

  • Regularly conducts cold calls to secure appointments, creating opportunities to sell to new prospects among local and national companies
  • Demonstrates superior communication and presentation skills, including in-person (one on one and large group format), web interactive and by phone and email
  • Continues to builds revenue pipeline by securing calls, meetings and presentations with potential prospects
  • Conducts proactive relationship management with Chicago Fire corporate partners and builds relationships with prospective partners
  • Manages relationship building and sales process via web-based CRM tool
  • Exhibits a strong understanding of industry trends and competitive landscapes to enable effective positioning of partnership opportunities
  • Delivers customized and targeted sports marketing solutions based on our relationship-based, integrated partnership model
  • Regularly identifies and pursues opportunities that deliver mutual growth for current partners and the Fire organization
  • Regularly provide Research/Market Awareness to keep up-to-date with current partner news
  • Collaborates with and provides support and direction to Partnership Marketing lead on each assigned account, including effective account handoffs and communication management
  • Communicates and collaborates exceptionally across all areas and levels of the Club, including Ticket Sales & Service, Marketing and Operations
  • Prepares Corporate Partnerships team documents as needed, including expense reports, account budgets, memos, letters, contracts, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Coordinates any sponsor-related projects or other tasks as assigned by Vice President of Corporate Partnerships or COO
  • Represent Chicago Fire Soccer Club and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing or other related field.
  • 2-3 years corporate sales experience, with sports corporate sales experience preferred
  • Ability to self-motivate, organize and prioritize
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a team-oriented approach
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential situations and information
  • Willingness to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Strong computer proficiency – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Information Technology Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Title: IT Intern

Reports To: IT Manager                

Expectations:   

The Information Technology Intern will report directly to the Information Technology Manager.  This position is responsible for assisting with the daily upkeep of the Chicago Fire/Toyota Park data and telecom networks with a specific focus on providing support to the venue on event days.  The Information Technology Intern will also be charged with setting up and maintaining computer hardware and software.  Listed below are the responsibilities and qualifications expected of this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up telecom and data connections for Chicago Fire
  • Assist with troubleshooting server, network, desktop hardware, printer and software issues
  • Assist with event execution; responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Pre-event set-up (technology needs, broadcast and internet connections, etc.)
    • Assist with technology needs and issues during the event
    • Audio/Visual assistance
    • Post-event tear-down and cleanup
  • Assist with setting up workstation and telecom needs for all employees
  • Assist with the completion of projects supporting the execution plan of the IT Department
  • Implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Handle additional administrative duties related to the IT Department as assigned by the IT Manager to include such items as research and development of new IT initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for internship. 
  • Students should be pursuing experience in information technology, communications, sports management or a related field.
  • Must be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision; must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with a large and diverse population.
  • Fluency in a second language is preferred.
  • Must be able to operate under extreme deadlines.

Operations Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Chicago Fire is looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in operations and how a professional soccer club operates. Students who are available for the majority of the upcoming Semester from from May - August are preferred. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience. All Chicago Fire Internships are unpaid.


 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

·         The primary responsibility is to provide event and game day assistance to gain experience in the Operations Department. This includes:

o   Credential preparation and management

o   Pre-game preparation

o   Game day operation responsibilities which includes assistance in managing our pre-game festival area - Fire Fest

o   Grassroots marketing efforts

o   Coordination and interface with Fire players, coaches and mascots at community  appearances, autograph signings and events

o   Front office maintenance projects, maintenance of company vehicles, facility upkeep, equipment storage and inventory

o   Occasional First Team operational needs

·         Interns will be expected to work select weekend and weeknight events along with ALL games. Game day duties may include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown. 

·         Candidates should be very comfortable performing physical labor duties on a daily basis. Previous experience in Event Operations is ideal and a strong leadership background is a plus.

·         Must be available from from May - August are preferred; candidates available from from May - September are preferred are strongly preferred.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: 

·         May be required to assist other departments with various projects

·         Inter-Department Training Program for Ticket Sales, Marketing, Communications and Corporate partnerships will be provided.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Available for 3 – 4 weekdays per week

Title: Part-Time, Marketing Assistant for Heineken Pub 97

Reports To: Director of Programming

Expectations: The PrivateBank Fire Pitch, Chicago Fire Soccer Club’s brand new 150,000-square-foot sports facility, is the city’s premiere facility for year-round soccer. Within the attached 12,500 square-foot clubhouse is Heineken Pub 97, a full service bar and restaurant with outdoors patio, private party rooms and twelve flat screen TVs. This position is for a motivated, energetic, passionate Marketing & Events Assistant to focus exclusively on increasing exposure, traffic and revenue to this exciting and unique new Chicago soccer bar. Working closely with the Director of Programming as well as facility and Heineken Pub 97 management, the Assistant will take point in the creation of new marketing ideas, develop and improve existing ones and follow through on successful execution.

This is a part time position, less than 30 hours a week, and will include a mix of daytime, evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute innovative methods to market Heineken Pub 97 to all adults participating in TPBFP programming.
  • Plan and execute innovative methods to market Heineken Pub 97 to all youth, parents and clubs participating in TBPFP programming.
  • Actively reach out to local businesses to promote Heineken Pub 97. Develop incentives and create special offers. Show measurable results. Complete a “site visit log” of work and companies/people visited. Present to management on weekly basis.
  • Be proactive and outgoing in approaching and engaging TPBFP customers to promote Heineken Pub 97.
  • Use Heineken Pub 97 assets such as Happy Hours, specials, menus, food, foosball tables, Xbox’s, outdoor patio, as a tool to promote.
  • Assist in creating event nights at Heineken Pub 97.
  • Take responsibility for Heineken Pub 97 social media accounts. Generate new and interesting content in order to drive traffic to the bar.
  • Assist in the development, marketing and promotion of the Fire Pub to Pitch bus program, with the aim of making Heineken Pub 97 the premier PtoP destination in Chicago.
  • Assist in performing outreach to local supporters groups and making Heineken Pub 97 their home.
  • Assist in coordinating production of all Heineken Pub 97 web, print and facility signage screens collateral.
  • Assist in the coordination of all Heineken Pub 97 marketing efforts between internal teams based in different locations (Heineken Pub 97, TPBFP and Toyota Park). Use internal teams as an asset to marketing Heineken Pub 97.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree preferred, with focus in marketing
  • A Minimum of two years experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a team/collaborative work environment is required along with strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and planning skills
