Player Operations: Player Personnel/Scout
Academy Administrator - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)


The Chicago Fire is looking for a highly self-motivated, detail- oriented Academy Administrator with a strong work ethic to manage day-to-day administration of the Chicago Fire Academy/ Player development programs, and travel for the Academy teams.  These programs include, but are not limited to: The Chicago Fire USSDA Academy, Chicago Fire Youth Academy, and Chicago Fire PDL/U-20/U-19 Programs. This position also provides synergy between the Academy program and the Chicago Fire Juniors, Chicago Pre-Academy and Chicago Fire Recreation.

Job Responsibilities:

General Administrative Duties

  • Assist the Academy Director in all administrative responsibilities and projects
  • Manage all lines of communication between coaches, players, parents and other constituents
  • Manage administration needs of all players and staff members within the Academy system. Including but not limited to: Player registration, records management and league correspondence
  • Day to day monitoring of the Academy budget, preparation of the annual budget report, and analysis of monthly budget reports
  • Act as liaison for accounts payable for Academy program, ensuring proper coding and submitting to the Finance Department
  • Attend and plan all Academy meetings, serves as record keeper  
  • Organize and distribute Academy calendar
  • Liaise with opposing teams, sponsors and governing bodies e.g. US Soccer, Major League Soccer and Adidas
  • Assists with administration of youth camp program

Player Services

  • Academy Player onboarding, complete CFSC and US Soccer registration
  • Create and implement academic monitoring, wellness programs and advisory sessions for families
  • Coordinate and execute Academy sponsored community service events
  • Maintain player emergency medical information

Match Day Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Equipment Manager on all Player Development team equipment needs
  • Manage and track all equipment needs when Player Development teams are away from Toyota Park
  • Manage and direct all operational aspects of staging first class Academy Home matches
  • Manage field and referee payment and scheduling 

Team Travel Booking & Management

  • Responsible for all Academy travel logistics including: Researching, planning and booking hotel, ground transportation, flights, meals, etc.
  • Compose and distribute travel itineraries
  • Review and reconcile expenses post trip


  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university, preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in sports environment, preferred
  • Previous USSDA/USYSA Club experience an advantage
  • USSF “ C” Coaching Licenses or equivalent, preferred
  • Proficient using PC and Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Ability and willingness to work an event driven schedule including weekends, evenings and some holiday hours. Extensive travel required
  • The ability to work independently and in a team/collaborative work environment is required along with strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and planning skills
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Bilingual: English dominant with Spanish also strongly preferred

Chicago Fire Rec Soccer - Video Production Intern - Fall 2016 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Chicago, IL)

Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a creative, hard working, individual who is interested in joining the Fire family. Our department organizes and coordinates adult recreational soccer leagues for coed and men's teams. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours/week).

CFRS is the largest adult rec soccer provider in Chicago. Our home is The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - the premier soccer facility in the city. As we grow, we're looking for driven young professionals to join our team. Let us know if that sounds like you!

Instructions for candidates:

  • This position may be required to assist other departments with various projects. Interaction with other departments is highly encouraged as we aim to provide the most comprehensive learning experience for interns.


The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency using video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, etc...) necessary.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Dreamweaver a major plus.
  • Goal-oriented, ambitious, honest individuals sought with strong work ethic, dedication and strong desire to learn about the sports industry.
