Description: The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking a Video Production intern to assist with day-to-day video productions within the Team Website, Home TV Broadcasts, and In-Stadium presentations. Applicant must have a strong work ethic, good time management skills, and the desire to expand their knowledge.


- Basic understanding of video camera functionality

- Knowledge of DSLR Cameras and Lenses

- Skills in Non-Linear Editing on Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier on Apple Computers

- Knowledge of Video Editing Codecs

- Understanding of the game of Soccer and the MLS

- Must be eligible to receive college credit to apply for internship

Duties will include:

- Editing match-up previews, event recaps, and in-stadium content

- Assist in editing TV Broadcast related content for Pre-Game and Half Time Shows

- Assist in filming interview collections

- Film live game footage, and post game video reactions

Director of Marketing - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

This role is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive marketing strategy for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. 

Marketing Strategy

  • Oversee all aspects of brand development and management, specifically acting as in-house authority on how best to utilize any/all assets to further brand awareness of the club. 
  • Creation, management and tracking of the annual budgets.
  • Maintain understanding of organizational sales and marketing activities, as well as the strategic direction of the market and competitors.
  • Development of advertising campaigns and consideration of all potential mediums: television, print, radio, outdoor, internet, non-traditional. Responsibilities include development of advertising plans, negotiation of partnerships/buys, advertising creative development, execution, and tracking.
  • Work closely with Corporate Partnerships to ensure fulfillment and integration of corporate sponsors into marketing, advertising, and promotional initiatives.
  • Actively participates in partner asset creation discussions and also advises on how best to utilize assets to expand the marketing message for the club.
  • Act as main liaison for outside agency(ies) who assist with club marketing efforts.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 In-Market Advertising

  • Execution of all grassroots marketing initiatives with the goal of driving ticket sales, creating sponsorship inventory, and strengthening fan connections.  To include, but not be limited to, mobile marketing, strategic partnerships, community events, youth and adult soccer partnerships and general market promotional partners.
  • Execution of annual advertising campaigns, including concept development, negotiation of media partnerships, media buys, ad placements, development of promotional programs, and creation of all marketing and promotional materials. Initiate and execute leveraged promotional platforms against all paid and unpaid media.

 Creative Development

  • Oversee creative and production of all print marketing and promotional materials, including brochures, posters, community reports, and sales collateral.
  • Development and execution of annual Ticket Sales marketing campaigns

Research & Analytics

  • Oversee all research initiatives including surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, etc. Use such data to heighten Fire’s awareness of current business activity and grow/develop future business opportunities.
  • Oversee development of all research initiatives including intercept surveys, web surveys and focus groups.
  • Manage and track all expenses relating to department activities to ensure budget compliance.


  • BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred with 6+ years direct experience in the sports and entertainment industry at a company or agency, with particular consideration given to candidate with extensive sports/soccer experience, as well as a familiarity and knowledge of the Chicago community at-large.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) language skills preferred 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with personnel issues and interact internally with senior management and externally with senior executives with our partners
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective grassroots marketing that drives brand awareness, consumer adoption, consumer retention and ultimately sales
  • Ability to think creatively when developing a program that will meet organizational marketing objectives
  • Ability to develop relationships with senior executives within current and future partners, and also with senior level executives within the organization

Internship - Information Technology - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Information Technology Intern will report directly to the Information Technology Manager.  This position is responsible for assisting with the daily upkeep of the Chicago Fire/Toyota Park data and telecom networks with a specific focus on providing support to the venue on event days.  The Information Technology Intern will also be charged with setting up and maintaining computer hardware and software.  Listed below are the responsibilities and qualifications expected of this position.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up telecom and data connections for Chicago Fire

  • Assist with troubleshooting server, network, desktop hardware, printer and software issues

  • Assist with event execution; responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Pre-event set-up (technology needs, broadcast  and internet connections, etc.)

      • Assist with technology needs and issues during the event

      • Audio/Visual assistance

      • Post-event tear-down and cleanup

  • Assist with setting up workstation and telecom needs for all employees

  • Assist with the completion of projects supporting the execution plan of the IT Department

  • Implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Handle additional administrative duties related to the IT Department as assigned by the IT Manager to include such items as research and development of new IT initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for internship.  Student will receive monthly stipend and school credit only.

  • Students should be pursuing experience in information technology, communications, sports management or a related field.

  • Must be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision; must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with a large and diverse population.

  • Must be able to operate under extreme deadlines.

A fantastic opportunity for a Motion Graphics Intern to assist the Chicago Fire Soccer Club Creative Services department.

The role entails in the assistance of creation of in-game graphics and other animations. Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to juggle several projects at any one time; capable of working on tight deadlines and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.


• Proficient knowledge of After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign(a plus)
• Strong skills in design, typography and 2D motion design
• Able to integrate creative video and audio for storytelling purposes
• Produce animated graphics; ranging from lower thirds, slates, tags and bumpers to full production graphics
