Title:

Player Development Administration and Operations Intern

 

Reports To:        

Dean Search- Academy Manager

                               

Responsibilities:

  • Organize registration files, paperwork and other Soccer department administrative needs
  • Support Technical Staff with any administrative needs
  • Assist in securing traveling plans for Fire Academy and PDL teams
  • Arrange logistics during team travel and implement on the road
    • Expected to travel with academy teams on away trips
  • Wash uniforms during home and away travel
  • Provide necessary paperwork to coaches and administrative staff

Qualifications:

  • This is an unpaid internship, for college credit only
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of global soccer, the Fire and Major League Soccer is preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays is required
  • Approximately 30 hours per week  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Internships: Accounting and Finance
Finance & Administration Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Organizing and reviewing invoices to ensure proper coding and approval
  • Maintain general ledger, accounts payable and financial filing systems
  • Balance the general ledger cash balance to the banking transactions on a daily basis
  • Assist in auditing various departments’ budgets to actual expenses
  • Work hand in hand with the finance department to complete monthly and quarterly financial reporting
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as necessary
  • Gain a working knowledge and understanding of the Chicago Fire’s various affiliates (Chicago Fire Juniors, Chicago Fire Rec Soccer, The Private Bank Fire Pitch, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Currently seeking an Accounting, Economics, or Finance degree from an Accredited College or University with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; detail oriented
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Previous office experience or knowledge of a sports business is a plus
  • QuickBooks general ledger software experience is a plus

Technical Services: Computer Information Systems
Information Technology Part-Time Assistant - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Information Technology assistant will report directly to the Information Technology Manager.  This position is responsible for assisting with the daily upkeep of the Chicago Fire/Toyota Park data and telecom networks with a specific focus on providing support to the venue on event days.  The Information Technology Intern will also be charged with setting up and maintaining computer hardware and software.  Listed below are the responsibilities and qualifications expected of this position.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up telecom and data connections for Chicago Fire

  • Assist with troubleshooting server, network, desktop hardware, printer and software issues

  • Assist with event execution; responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Pre-event set-up (technology needs, broadcast  and internet connections, etc.

    • Post-event tear-down and cleanup

    • Audio/Visual assistance

    • Assist with technology needs and issues during the event

  • Assist with setting up workstation and telecom needs for all employees

  • Assist with the completion of projects supporting the execution plan of the IT Department

  • Implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Handle additional administrative duties related to the IT Department as assigned by the IT Manager to include such items as research and development of new IT initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

  • Must be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision; must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with a large and diverse population.

  • Fluency in a second language is preferred.

  • Must be able to operate under extreme deadlines.

  • Must be able to work 25 - 30 hours per week.

  • Must be willing to work long hours, irregular schedules and weekends.

  • Must work all home Chicago Fire games

  • Must have knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Windows OS and office

  • Knowledge of MAC OS and server platforms is a plus

  • May be asked occasionally to travel to remote Chicago office

Season Ticket Sales Representative - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maximize Ticket Sales and Ticket Sales Revenue through execution of sales calls and meetings
  • Aggressively prospect new sales opportunities inside/outside the office 
  • Willingness to attend events outside normal business hours (Networking Events, Business Meetings, etc.)
  • Exemplify the core characteristics of strong sales culture (e.g. strong interpersonal skills,positivity, prompt and professional follow-through, openness to new ideas and suggestions)
  • Collaborate with team members in developing new season ticket sales programs and enhancing existing programs
  • Exhibit constant “Fire” enthusiasm toward internal and external contacts
  • Support a positive sales culture within the Fire sales team, as well as the entire front office
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Season Ticket Sales & Service 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Previous Ticket Sales experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Familiarity with Archtics and Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred
