Responsibilities:

  • Receive mail and distribute invoices to appropriate departments
  • Proof and enter AP invoice into accounting system
  • Print and process weekly check runs
  • Code employee expense reports to appropriate accounts, review for proper supporting documentation and post to accounting system
  • Balance the general ledger to the online bank information on a daily basis
  • Maintain files, including filing of general ledger journal vouchers, accounts payable documentation and other miscellaneous items
  • Manage and update vendor information
  • Research and resolve accounts payable issues with vendors

Blog & Social Media Intern - Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (Chicago, IL)

Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a creative, hard working, individual who is interested in joining the Fire family. Our department organizes and coordinates adult recreational soccer leagues for coed and men's teams. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours/week).

CFRS is the largest adult rec soccer provider in Chicago. Our home is The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - the premier soccer facility in the city. As we grow, we're looking for driven young professionals to join our team. Let us know if that sounds like you!

Instructions for candidates:

Chicago Fire Digital/Broadcasting Internship - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Department: Chicago Fire Digital and Broadcasting

Hours required: min. 16-24 per week (possibly more during season)

Description: The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking a Video Production intern to assist with day-to-day video productions within the Team Website, Home TV Broadcasts, and In-Stadium presentations. Applicant must have a strong work ethic, good time management skills, and the desire to expand their knowledge. This is an unpaid internship.

Prerequisites:

- Basic understanding of video camera functionality

- Knowledge of DSLR Cameras and Lenses

- Skills in Non-Linear Editing on Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier on Apple Computers

- Knowledge of Video Editing Codecs

- Understanding of the game of Soccer and the MLS

Duties will include:

Administration/General Management: Human Resources Generalist
Payroll/HR Generalist - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Reports To:          

VP of Finance & Administration

COO

Expectations: 

Dual reporting to the VP of Finance & Administration and COO of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, the Payroll & HR Generalist will build strong business relationships with employees and management, partnering with multiple business units in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, and training and development. Additionally, he/she will partner with the management team to plan, evaluate, develop and improve their HR assets to optimize contributions to the company’s strategic and operational performance. He/She must be “hands on” with a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, progressive, and collaborative organization.  Experience with a relatively inexperienced, seasonal and/or part-time workforce is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

HR

  • Streamline and lead the overall recruitment process and develop an interview protocol (sample questions, case studies, etc)
  • Work closely with the management team to establish and drive recruitment initiatives and help plan and meet their talent acquisition goals
  • Establish a deeper connection with local Colleges and Universities
  • Manage the internship program; posting, recruiting, sourcing and placement of 20+ interns annually
  • Update and enhance the entire new-hire on boarding process; involve Welcome Wagon Committee members throughout the process to ensure that new employees hit the ground running
  • Initiate and review all background checks for all full-time and part-time staff, coaches and interns
  • Revisit the annual goal setting and performance review process and make updates as needed
  • Plan and lead the annual skip level process
  • Help evaluate and manage the various compensation plans
  • Work closely with the VP of Finance to create and implement policies and operating practices and procedures for HR and for the office
  • Ensures employment practices are compliant with regulatory agencies and ownership guidelines
  • Work with the VP of Finance on various HR projects and initiatives
  • Assist with game day activities during Chicago Fire home games

Payroll

  • Oversees all local payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Process semi-monthly transfer of payroll data to Paychex and ensure timely and accurate payroll records
  • Work with the VP of Finance regarding payroll budgets and forecasts
  • Perform various projects as assigned by the VP of Finance

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Human Resources preferred
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in an HR related field 
  • Must have working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including benefits, compensation, payroll and employment laws
  • Must be a confident communicator with the level of maturity, discretion and presence necessary to work collaboratively with management
  • The ability to work independently and in a team/collaborative work environment is required along with strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and planning skills
