Account Executive – Corporate Sales

 Reports to:

Vice President of Corporate Partnerships

 Core Job Responsibilities:

The Account Executive -Corporate Sales will be primarily responsible for the following:  generating leads via networking and research, developing new business and renewal proposals, conducting presentations, managing fulfillment costs, negotiating contracts and securing new business to meet and exceed annual revenue goals.

  1. Regularly conduct cold calls as a way of securing appointments to sell to new prospects among local and national companies.
  2. Demonstrate superior presentation skills, including in-person (one on one and large group format), web interactive and phone and email.
  3. Communicate and collaborate well across all areas and levels of the Club, including sales & service, marketing, and operations.
  4. Conduct Proactive Relationship Management with Chicago Fire corporate partners and build relationships with prospective partners.    Manage relationship building and sales process via web-based CRM tool.
  5. Deliver customized and targeted sports marketing solutions based on the Chicago relationship-based, integrated partnership model.  Regularly identify and pursue opportunities that deliver mutual growth for current partners and the Fire organization.
  6. Collaborate with and provide support/direction to Partnership Marketing lead on each assigned account, including effective account handoffs and communication management.

  7. Regularly provide Research/Market Awareness to keep up-to-date with current partner news. Understand industry trends and competitive landscapes to enable effective positioning of partnership opportunities.

  8. Coordinate any sponsor-related projects as assigned by Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1-2 years sales experience, preferably with a sports property or agency

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Strong computer proficiency – MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Chicago Fire Foundation-50/50 Raffle Seller - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

• Sell 50/50 tickets in an enthusiastic manner
• Approach fans to explain the details of the 50/50 raffle program
• Utilize portable tablets and printers for the sale of tickets
• Answer fan questions regarding raffle program, as well as basic TOYOTA PARK and Chicago Fire information
• Understand the mission of the Chicago Fire Foundation
• Represent club and foundation as brand ambassadors

•Hours: Arrive 90 minutes before game time. Shift ends during the second half.  Please note this is a stipend based paid position

• Must be 18+ years old
• Must have reliable transportation to TOYOTA PARK
• Must be prompt and arrive to games on time
• Must be a responsible, motivated individual with a competitive spirit
• Must be comfortable speaking in public and superior customer service skills
• Prior customer service or sales experience is a plus
• Must demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the Chicago Fire
• Must be able to take and follow directions well
• Must be able to work a minimum of 10 Chicago Fire home matches (March-October)
• Must be comfortable handling money
• Candidates must be willing to work nights and weekends

Sports Writer: Blog and Social Media Intern - Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (Chicago, IL)

Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a creative, hard working, individual who is interested in joining the Fire family. Our department organizes and coordinates adult recreational soccer leagues for coed and men's teams. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours/week). The internship begins June 8th.

CFRS is the largest adult rec soccer provider in Chicago. Our home is The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - the premier soccer facility in the city. As we grow, we're looking for driven young professionals to join our team. Let us know if that sounds like you!

Instructions for candidates:

1. Verify that you are eligible to receive school credit before you apply for an internship. You must be able to provide a verification letter from the career services or faculty of your learning institution.

  • This position may be required to assist other departments with various projects. Interaction with other departments is highly encouraged as we aim to provide the most comprehensive learning experience for interns.


The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer savvy with ability to work effectively in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dream Weaver, and/or Final Cut Pro a major plus.
  • Goal-oriented, ambitious, honest individuals sought with strong work ethic, dedication and strong desire to learn about the sports industry.
