Background: After winning three USL-Pro regular season championships and two postseason titles over a four-year span, Orlando City SC quickly set the standard for professional soccer clubs both on and off the field and was awarded the 21st Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise on Nov. 19, 2013. The Lions played their first two seasons in MLS at the Orlando Citrus Bowl, where they held the second-highest average attendance in MLS. In 2016, the Club launched Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and Orlando City B in the United Soccer League (USL).

Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking part-time communications interns to support the
Communications Department with its match day duties for Orlando City SC, Orlando Pride and Orlando City
B. The Communications interns play a role in all game day activities, including: media credentialing, press
conference transcripts and other match day press functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Match day interns are integral to game day media operations. Interns will gain valuable, first-hand
experience and training in communications duties, including:

  • Media credentialing and check-in.
  • Setup and management of media work room and press box.
  • Post-game press conference operations and drafting transcripts.
  • Statistics distribution, in-game and post-game.
  • On-field field marshaling and media liaison.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in journalism, communications or related field. Candidates receiving credit for participating in our internship program are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop) a plus.
  • Knowledge of global soccer, Major League Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League is preferred.
  • Maintain highest level of professionalism within a pro team environment and in media work zones.
  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Possess an outgoing, engaging and professional personality.
  • Ability to work weekends and support most Orlando City, Orlando Pride and Orlando City B home games. Schedules will be provided monthly to all game day interns.

Position Summary: Orlando City SC is looking for a creative and driven Graphics Design Intern. This person will work under the direction of the Graphic Design team, and will have the opportunity to learn how to design and produce marketing collateral for the Club. Concluding this internship this person will know how to design, prepare and present marketing collateral, within the marketing department for a professional sports team. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with design of ticket collateral (single tickets, season tickets, season ticket holder books).
  • Work with design team on producing advertising material (print, out-of-home, etc.).
  • Assist with creation of interactive design (website design, Facebook images/tab design, etc.) for Orlando City, Orlando Pride, OCB and youth properties.
  • Assist with corporate sales fulfillment (when necessary) and collateral.
  • Provide input and assistance with overall look of branded signage at the stadium (JumboTron, LEDs, banners, etc.).
  • Support design team with presentations, collateral and photo editing.
  • Assist with minimum of two gamedays per month or as needed.

  Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in graphic design, marketing, or related field. Candidates receiving credit for participating in our internship program are preferred.
  • Interested in pursuing a career in graphic design, marketing, etc.

Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking a Merchandise Manager/Director responsible for the direct management of the Club’s retail strategy. This person will oversee operations with all retail partners and points of sale (daily, game-day locations and special events) which includes driving strategic business branding initiatives, as well as meeting the demands of the Club’s daily operations for all three teams. The exact position title will be determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a profitable, customer-focused merchandise and retail strategy while enhancing the fan experience for all Orlando City, Orlando Pride and OCB customers. 
  • Oversee Club’s merchandise operations including buying, sales, operations, inventory management and loss prevention.
  • Manage internal merchandising staff, as well as all third-party relationships and agreements. 
  • Focus on the execution of the merchandising business plan, monitoring retail and merchandising performance. 
  • Maintain positive business partnerships with MLS, NWSL and USL representatives and vendors.
  • Purchase merchandise by making proper selections, negotiating most favorable costs and other terms of purchase, as needed.
  • Monitor product sales, inventory turns, markdowns and all other costs to maximize sales and profitability. 
  • Direct merchandise presentation, space allotment and point of purchase information for all retail operations. 
  • Keep abreast of latest retail, merchandising and licensing innovations and concepts to maximize performance as well as source new merchandise and review existing items to ensure products remain competitive.
  • Develop processes and reports for all merchandise and retail functions. 
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments to ensure merchandising needs are met.
  • Prepare department budget and operate under budgetary guidelines. 
  • Assist with promotional events and merchandise. 
  • Special ad hoc projects as assigned.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Merchandise Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in merchandising/retail strategy strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of game and fundamentals of soccer preferred. 
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for providing great customer service.

This person will work alongside the Sr. Director of Digital media and Social Media Manager and have a chance to learn the ins-and-outs of social media. Concluding this internship this person will know how to create and write interesting content for fans, cover live events in real-time, and track campaigns through analytics. Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking hardworking, positive and passionate individuals who wish to supplement their classroom instruction with practical experience facilitating key tasks associated with the operation of a professional soccer stadium and special event venue. Interns will have a direct role in delivery of services, provision of tours, rooms setup, protection and monitoring of facility and oversite of vendors providing services, etc.  Interns will work under close supervision of the Director of Stadium Operations and the Stadium Operations Manager.

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and loading journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, bank reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. Additional functions include assisting with monthly closings and account analysis, and supporting the Accounting and Finance team in ad hoc analysis and functions. This position will also handle accounts receivable/payable, invoicing, credit card and expense report reconciliations and payroll.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month end closing procedures, including journal entry preparation for various activities such as ticket revenue recognition, sponsorship revenue recognition, merchandise sales and prepaid expenses.
  • Responsible for daily cash management with cash from invoices, box office and merchandise sales, and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Verify and post entries to subsidiary and general ledger accounts, including trial balance analysis.
  • Perform analysis of balance sheet accounts and prepare account reconciliations including reconciling deferred ticket revenue to ticket sales database and merchandise inventory to sales reports.
  • Detail processing for accounts payable invoices and expense reports.
  • Improve vendor relationships and manage contracts while searching for expense improvements.
  • Assist Accounting Manager with league-reporting requirements.
  • Assist with event settlements and end of the year stadium settlement.
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience within the accounting field; CPA preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Excel, accounting and banking systems.
  • Experience with any of the following a plus: QuickBooks, Salesforce, Archtics, FinancialForce, Concur.
  • Must have strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a take-charge, forward thinking person who is able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere.

This position will primarily assist in grassroots marketing efforts at specific events within the Central Florida community.
