Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking hardworking, positive and passionate individuals who wish to supplement their classroom instruction with practical experience facilitating key operational tasks in the support of professional soccer teams. The Equipment Management Intern will work closely with the Director of Equipment Operations in performing a variety of tasks supporting the MLS, NWSL, USL and Pro Academy teams. This person will provide dedicated support on a day-to-day basis and work as an integral part of team operations for both training days and game days.YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

Prep for training on a daily basis

  • Distribute training gear into lockers prior to player arrival, or after player departure
  • Launder dirty training gear
    • Wash, dry, fold, hang
  • Check ball pressure each day
  • Help with field set-up
    • Set-up tables and tents at the field
    • Set out benches
    • Assist equipment manager and coaching staff with field layout
    • Make grids with cone
    • Placement of mannequins, poles, sticks, ladders, etc.
    • Move large and small goals into place
  • Field clean-up
    • Pick up grids after drill
    • Pick up field equipment
    • Put goals back in proper place
    • Put away tents, tables and benches
  • Maintain an organized and clean boot room
    • Wipe down player boots after training
    • Spray with stink free odor eliminating products
    • Keep room swept, free of trash
    • Keep sink free of debris
  • Assist in receiving shipments
    • Counting product
    • Organizing product and equipment room
    • Updating inventory
  • Prep for home and away matches
    • Packing and unpacking before and after trips
    • Assisting on home match days with set-up/break-down of locker room
  • Notifying the equipment staff of various needs
    • Player or staff requests
    •  Facilities needs/issues
      •  Light bulbs out, water isn’t getting hot, propane is out/dryer isn’t heating, leaks, floor is slippery, soccer net is coming apart, inflatables won’t hold air, etc…
    • Supply issues
      • Low on detergent, shampoo, packing tape, etc…
  • Assist with building goals, shelving units, replacing nets, and any other duties that are deemed necessary within the basic guidelines of being an Equipment Manager
  • Special Assignments
    • Each student will be involved with assignments that will include, but not limited to the following:
      • Accounting
        • Invoice submittal and entry
      • Scheduling
        • Daily, weekly and monthly work schedules
      • Department Operations Manual Design
        • Assist in writing new Operations Manual for Equipment Department
      • Data collection and entry
        • Collect information from all staff and employees
        • Create files and folders of all pertinent information
        • Organize current information on file if needed
      • Printing
        • Thermal label making
        • Heat press applications

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an interest in working in sports. Candidates receiving credit for participating in our internship program are strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish/Portuguese a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain highest level of professionalism and confidentiality within a pro-team environment is required.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and have a strong sense of accountability.
  • Possess a positive, outgoing, engaging and professional personality.
  • Strong understanding and passion for the sport of soccer is preferred.
  • Ability to work nontraditional hours in nontraditional settings, including holidays, nights and weekends.

Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking hardworking, positive and passionate individuals who wish to supplement their classroom instruction with practical experience facilitating key operational tasks associated with the production of professional soccer games. Interns will have a direct role in executing match operations such as presentation, field setup, locker room requests, etc. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to oversee back of house operations including setup/teardown, locker rooms, stadium management, etc. Interns will work under close supervision of the VP of Gameday Operations and Operations Coordinators.YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with gameday/event management and set-up/breakdown for all MLS, NWSL, USL and Pro-Academy home games as assigned.
  • Arrange visiting team’s requests, working with the venue and other departments to fulfill the team’s needs.
  • Facilitate and assist with match operations, match presentation, teams and officials, etc.
  • Provide support to other events organized by the club at the venue on game days (soccer tournament, clinics, etc.).
  • Maintain all equipment and supplies in a proper working order.
  • Assist with in-office tasks when needed.
  • Execute other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At the time of the internship, have completed at least your sophomore year at a four-year accredited college institution or be enrolled in an accredited graduate program.
  • Must provide proof that you will receive academic credit through the internship toward the completion of your degree.
  • Available for home matches and other events throughout the internship session (including evenings and weekends).
  • Ability to maintain highest level of professionalism and confidentiality within a pro-team environment is required.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and have a strong sense of accountability.
  • Candidates should be very comfortable performing physical labor duties on a daily basis.
  • Interest and experience in competitive sports or event operations is preferred.

Position Summary: The Member Services Representative is responsible for excellent servicing and relationship building with a focus on retaining and growing all assigned Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride season ticket member accounts. Entailing, but not limited to, responding to questions, comments or concerns via telephone or in-person from all season ticket members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively communicate with assigned ticket members via telephone, email and/or in-person.
  • Proactively solicit account retention by securing renewal commitments.
  • Field and respond to all season ticket member inquiries, requests, feedback, etc.
  • Build relationships with assigned season ticket members at all points of contact.
  • Ensure customer data and profile requirements are accurately represented in database.
  • Accurately and successfully convey all key messages to all season ticket members.
  • Educate season ticket members of all applicable Membership benefits, programs and events.
  • Identify opportunities to add-value to Membership benefits, programs and events.
  • Identify areas to improve on and off game day experience.
  • Reporting of various individual and/or departmental efforts.
  • Plan, facilitate and execute exclusive season ticket member events throughout the calendar year.
  • Act as information liaison for all Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride home games, and stadium events.
  • Survey and analysis of various reporting (attendance, game day experience, etc.)

Qualifications:        

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of sales or service experience in professional or collegiate sports (or related industry) is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) is preferred.
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work well on a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Archtics is preferred.
  • Experience in the Florida marketplace preferred but not necessary.
  • Fluent in Spanish or Portuguese a plus.

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and loading journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, bank reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. Additional functions include assisting with monthly closings and account analysis, and supporting the Accounting and Finance team in ad hoc analysis and functions. This position will also handle accounts receivable/payable, invoicing, credit card and expense report reconciliations and payroll.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month end closing procedures, including journal entry preparation for various activities such as ticket revenue recognition, sponsorship revenue recognition, merchandise sales and prepaid expenses.
  • Responsible for daily cash management with cash from invoices, box office and merchandise sales, and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Verify and post entries to subsidiary and general ledger accounts, including trial balance analysis.
  • Detail processing for accounts payable invoices and expense reports.
  • Improve vendor relationships and manage contracts while searching for expense improvements.
  • Assist Controller with financial reporting requirements as needed.
  • Assist with event settlements and end of the year stadium settlement.
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience within the accounting field.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Excel, accounting and banking systems.
  • Experience with any of the following a plus: QuickBooks, Salesforce, Archtics, FinancialForce, Concur.
  • Must have strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a take-charge, forward thinking person who is able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere.

Position Summary:  Orlando City SC seeks highly motivated individuals capable of assisting in the operation of the Club’s overall team administration, operations and player fulfillment. Selected interns will work under the close supervision of the Executive Staff, Team Administrators and Equipment Managers on a variety of critical activities in support of the Orlando City, Orlando Pride and OCB teams. Soccer Operations Interns will have the opportunity to supplement classroom instruction and gain practical and valuable learning experiences. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Team Administrators with daily player transfers (to/from airport, to medical appointments, etc.).
  • Assist Team Administrators with daily administrative tasks (i.e., player ticket requests).
  • Assist Team Administrators with the planning and logistics of team travel throughout the season.
  • Assist Team Administrators with the onboarding of new players to Orlando (apartments, cell phone, bank account etc.).
  • Assist with the hosting of all national and international club teams.
  • Assist with management of OCSC training facility.
  • Assist with the management of the departments’ financial budget (filing receipts, submitting expense reports, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
