Columbus Crew SC is seeking an Academy General Manager to oversee the operations of the Crew SC Academy program. The Academy General Manager is primarily responsible for the management of all administrative aspects of the Crew SC Academy program to ensure the program produces players for the Columbus Crew SC first team.  

The position is based in Columbus, Ohio and requires occasional travel (domestic and international). The Academy General Manager reports to the Head Coach and Sporting Director and involves close collaboration with the Director of Soccer Operations and Director of Methodology.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all administrative aspects of the Crew SC Academy program, including communication, schedules, finances, facilities, equipment, travel and paperwork
  • Implement the Crew SC ‘player first’ culture in all Academy teams
  • Assist Director of Methodology with management of all staff members in Crew SC Academy
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with local and regional soccer leaders
  • Fulfill all U.S. Soccer and Major League Soccer requirements of an Academy program
  • Oversee management of player identification, scouting and recruitment process for the Crew SC Academy
  • Launch and manage billet program for high potential Academy players

Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred or equivalent experience
  • Preferred U.S. Soccer B License, U.S. Soccer Academy Director License preferred or foreign equivalent, sports management degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of coaching, administrative and/or management experience at Academy or Professional level
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the professional soccer landscape
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Columbus Crew SC is seeking a full time Head Coach to oversee the U-12 Crew SC Academy team, starting in the 2016-17 Academy season. The U-12 Academy Head Coach is responsible for the development of professional players in the U-12 player pool according to the Crew SC style of play, methodology and player first culture.

The U-12 Academy Head Coach reports to the Director of Methodology and Academy General Manager and involves close collaboration with the other head coaches and the full Soccer Operations Department.

Columbus Crew SC is seeking a Digital Communications Manager to oversee and serve as the principal editor of all digital media platforms, including the Club’s website and social media channels. The position is responsible for all digital strategies and analytics at the club, including developing strategies for driving content and increasing supporter engagement.

The Digital Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in how the Columbus Crew SC brand extends into new and existing fields through developing a strategic vision for the digital department as well as conceptualizing and producing content. The position reports to the Director of Communications and is based in Columbus, Ohio.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to conceive, design and launch new digital features
  • Develop and execute digital and social media strategies to increase engagement
  • Lead Digital team to accomplish organizational and departmental goals
  • Provide editorial oversight for all digital and social media content, adhering to Columbus Crew SC’s brand filters
  • Create day-to-day and long-term editorial calendars, driving page views on and boosting engagement and click-thru traffic on social media platforms

 Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in digital media, journalism, communications, marketing, web design or related field
  • High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
  • High proficiency in written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience with a web analytics platform (Google Analytics or Omniture) and traffic patterns, as well as Social Media analytics platforms (Shareablee, Twitter Analytics, Facebook Insights)

Columbus Crew SC is seeking an Information Technology Manager to oversee all technical aspects of the Club and Stadium. This position works as a liaison across all departments to use technological resources to help maintain and grow our soccer and event business operations. The IT Manager will plan, organize and execute specific departmental IT needs, including the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.

This position will also establish Crew SC’s technical vision and lead all aspects of the Club’s technological development. This position is based in Columbus, Ohio and reports to the SVP of Finance and Administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead all aspects of Information Technology throughout the Club, Stadium and off-site training facility
  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment and devices
  • Plan, execute and maintain unique equipment additions and configurations for special events such as concerts, football games, and US Soccer matches
  • Support administration of servers and storage devices including off-site hosted email management
  • Manage all system back-up
  • Manage a software licensing plan including purchasing, updating and replacing licenses as necessary
  • Plan and support network and computing infrastructure
  • Perform troubleshooting of servers, workstations, printers and associated systems for the organization’s daily and event-based operational needs
  • Document network problems and resolution for future reference
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT/computer field with at least 2 years’ experience in strategy and/or management
  • Knowledge of CISCO switches, routers, wireless access points, wireless lan controllers, and firewalls
  • Knowledge of both PC and Mac technologies
  • Experience with Ticketmaster, Great Plains, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, Micros POS, Retail Cloud POS among others preferred

Columbus Crew SC is seeking a Manager of Marketing & Advertising to coordinate advertising and promotional directives across the Club. This position is an integral part of the Marketing Department and focuses on leading advertising initiatives, while expanding the Crew SC brand throughout the community, collaborating with the Ticket Sales department to drive ticket revenue and develop new ticket promotions. This position also collaborates closely with all internal departments to execute various marketing support needs.

The Manager of Marketing & Advertising reports directly to the VP of Marketing & Communications and works closely with the Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Community Relations & Foundation and Creative Services departments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Place, traffic, and negotiate media buys primarily in digital and radio media channels, maximizing the promotional value received with some work in , television, print, and outdoor media as well
  • Plan, develop, execute and track advertising campaigns to drive ticket revenue and brand awareness
  • Analyze conversion data to inform strategic marketing and advertising campaigns
  • Customize copy for radio, television, social media, web, and in-match public address announcements to ensure messaging consistently follows brand guidelines
  • Effectively and efficiently manage advertising budget.
  • Collaborate with design and media production team to develop creative that elevates the Crew SC brand and promotions within the market
  • Assist Corporate Partnership department in fulfillment of partner contracts by customizing promotions with the intent to drive revenue, increase awareness, and encourage engagement
