Essential Job Functions:

• Make initial contact with clients and vendors to arrange for set-up & logistics of events
• Communicate event details to stadium staff through production notes
• Oversee the Guest Services Uniform Room and the distribution/collection of materials to staff
• Schedule and coordinate event staffing for Guest Services

Graphic Design Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Graphic Designer Intern

Reports To:
Senior Manager of Creative Services

EXPECTATIONS:
The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task. Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design
• Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
• Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
• Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
• Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
• Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house
• Prioritize and filter work load coming from all departments through a design request form system
• Design advertisements, print materials, still digital imaging and web graphics
• Meet all advertising and print deadlines
• Contribute to the invention and implementation of marketing/communications initiatives

We are looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in grassroots marketing, event management, game day operations and day-to-day business operations. Students who are available at least 30 hours/week for 3-4 months are preferred. D.C. United accepts a limited number of interns to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Essential Functions:

The primary responsibility is to provide weekday and game day assistance to the Marketing Department. Interns will be expected to assist with the following:

  • Lead-generation on game days and at grassroots events
  • Company vehicle maintenance
  • Collateral and premium item inventory
  • Mascot program
  • Lot 8 tailgate
  • Game-specific ticket promotions

DC United is seeking a highly motivated candidate to take on the role of Equipment Manager Intern for Summer 2015(Early May - August).  The candidate will assist the Head and Assistant Equipment Manager with all team and technical staff equipment duties, as well as assisting with the Youth Academy equipment needs. 

Primary responsibilities (First Team):

  • Manage, inventory, and account for all team equipment usage
  • Setup and breakdown of training equipment and field
  • Distribution and laundering of all team training and game gear
  • Packing of equipment for away games/travel

Secondary responsibilities (Youth Academy):

  • Manage equipment and launder gear after games/training
  • Setup equipment for training sessions
  • Packing of equipment for away games/travel on longer trips

Education/Experience:

  • College degree/in process in a related field preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in the field of equipment management, whether professional or at the collegiate level, preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of soccer is preferred but not required.
  • A candidate that is fluent in both English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Compensation and Hours:

Intern - Operations (Summer 2015) - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

Internship Description
Interns will work closely with the Operations Director, Manager and Coordinator in the daily operation of the club. Specific tasks will include event management, set-up/breakdown for all D.C. United home matches, office maintenance projects, and other event operations responsibilities. Additional duties include assisting in the maintenance of company vehicles, facility upkeep, equipment storage and inventory, as well as helping with the management of the D.C United volunteer team made up of 90 volunteers. Interns will also assist with the credentialing process, occasional first team operational needs, and management of other interns and event staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties will include assisting with Guest Services event staff recruitment, scheduling, training, and deployment. Interns will be expected to aid in the planning, logistics, and execution of employee training programs. Interns will also be expected to assist with game day hospitality planning and other related tasks as assigned. Additionally, the interns can expect to complete various tasks related to the overall daily operation of the club, including event setup/breakdown and other logistical needs related to D.C. United events at RFK Stadium and other locations in the surrounding area.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Applicants available to commit full time are preferred, but part time candidates will also be considered.
  • Candidates should be very comfortable performing physical labor duties on a daily basis.
  • Previous experience in event management is ideal and a strong leadership background is a plus.

The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.

All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment, marketing, and sales industries. Digital Content Internship: FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are looking for a digital content intern to assist the Marketing and Media Relations departments. The digital content intern will report to the Digital Content Editor and assist with the day to day objectives of the Marketing and Media Relations departments.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:
• Assist in creating, editing and publishing content for fcdallas.com, fcdallasyouth.com and other websites
• Monitor site traffic and analytics for fcdallas.com
• Assist in developing storylines and creating blog posts

Job Duties:
• Assist in filming and editing video segments for in game presentation
• Assist in conducting player interviews as well as filming and editing online video segments
• Assist the marketing department on game days to coordinate and implement marketing endeavors such as half time entertainment, in game promotions and other related duties.
• Assist with the development of online video branding.

The intern will learn all aspects of the coordination and administration of Sports Marketing, Ticket Sales, Fan Service, Ticket Operations and Game Day Operations. This internship is designed for college students who are interested in pursuing a sales career in the sports industry.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Background in sales, marketing, business, customer service or communications is encouraged

North Texas Soccer Tour: FC Dallas and North Texas State Soccer Association in conjunction with a few key sponsors have developed a mobile marketing tour that travels throughout DFW and north Texas area. We are currently looking for a students interested in participating in the execution of the tour. The tour visits approximately 50-60 events per calendar year which include soccer tournaments, league play, and various sponsor events. The tour consists of a company SUV that pulls a 24-foot trailer, a 10x10 tent and interactive inflatables. The North Texas Soccer Tour Internship will serve as an integral part of the FC Dallas strategic marketing efforts.

Members of this team will act as ambassadors for FC Dallas interacting with fans during scheduled 17 home games and at various special events including (but not limited to); player appearances, community events, media functions, nightlife appearances, and team driven events in the DFW area.


Team members will be expected to have a dynamic personality with the ability to engage the target audience in lively conversation and be able to sell FC Dallas tickets and merchandise. Members must be capable of communicating key brand messages and conversing about soccer in a knowledgeable and positive manner.

FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain Operational experience in the Sports, Venue and Entertainment industry. Many different operations opportunities are available across our organization.

Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.


All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations.   • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.

Event Operations Internship - Summer 2015 - New York Red Bulls (Harrison, NJ)

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Event Operations Internship comprises of various duties for all events held at Red Bull Arena and others done by Red Bull New York.  The goal of the operations department is to provide students with direct experience in event operations at the premier destination for soccer in North America.  This is an unpaid internship and will require the candidate to receive college credit as per the college’s requirements.  While the internship schedule is flexible, a typical internship should fall into one of these calendar terms - January to May, May to August, or August to December.

 
Interns report directly to the Event Operations Manager but also interact regularly with the entire stadium operations staff at Red Bull Arena.  During the internship they are involved in all event preparation, set-up, logistics, breakdown, and special projects for all New York Red Bulls events and events at Red Bull Arena. Over the course of internship term they are given significant responsibility to take charge of long term projects, event preparation and planning, and daily operational processes at Red Bull Arena.  Interns are also expected to function in a competitive team atmosphere and take a leadership role with event staff and volunteers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-          Aid in the daily operation of Red Bull Arena.

-          Coordinate with other Red Bull New York departments to ensure successful event planning and execution (Event Marketing, Partnerships, Premium Services, Sales, Ticketing, Fan Services, Communications, Community Relations, Academy/Training Programs, and First Team Operations).

-          Assist other Red Bull Arena operations staff when support is required (Grounds, Facilities, Multimedia, Security, Cleaning, and IT)

-          Schedules are flexible, approximately 40-50 hours per week.

-          Event attendance is mandatory (weekends, weeknights and long hours are common).

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

-          Students pursuing a career in Sport Management and event/stadium operations are preferred.

Grassroots Marketing Intern:

The Grassroots Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and operations departments as well as the front office in day-to-day operations. ·         Communicate all scheduled Mobile Marketing Tour appearance with the Coordinator, Grassroots Marketing.

·         Assist in organizing and managing all facets of Union grassroots initiatives

·         Mobile Marketing Tour on site activation

·         Compose and distribute pre-event appearance sheets to all working staff

·         Assist with additional promotional events as needed

·         Attend all College Brand Manager sessions

·         Work all Philadelphia Union home games

·         Complete all other duties as assigned

Summer 2015- Box Office Intern - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

Box Office Intern:

Interns will be responsible for assisting the box office in day-to-day operations as well as front office operations and games and events support. Internships with the Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences. Box office experience is a plus but is not required for this position. Interns will be trained on the Paciolan ticketing system and be exposed to various forms of fan services.

·         Sell tickets to walk-up customers at the PPL Park Box Office

·         Supervise game day sellers

·         Set up and breakdown will call

·         Provide a high level of customer service at Union home games and other PPL Park events

Event Operations Intern:

The Event Operations intern will be responsible for executing Philadelphia Union events including but not limited to: grassroots marketing events, corporate sponsor events, soccer schools and all Union home games. The ideal candidate is a confident, hard-working, and innovative college or graduate- level student who is interested in an opportunity to earn course credits toward the completion of their degree, while obtaining practical experience in the world of professional sports.  We have redesigned our internship program to provide valued learning opportunities, hands-on experience, and the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer here in Philadelphia. We are looking for candidates interested in the area of Game-Day and Event Operations.  Through this internship, the intern will be introduced to the behind-the-scenes operations of PPL Park prior to and during Philadelphia Union home games and other events, such as The U on Tour.

The U Crew: Promotional Street Team - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

Philadelphia Union is seeking season-long (March-October) Event / Promotional Marketing interns and volunteers to promote the Union brand at events, festivals, street fairs, local schools/universities, restaurants and gameday (i.e., Toyota Plaza, pre-game, and halftime) activities.

A majority of your time spent as a Street Team Member will be to serve as a brand ambassador for Philadelphia Union.  We are seeking bright, motivated, reliable and positive people for our street team members. This is a great way to gain a strong educational base in marketing while working for a professional soccer club in Major League Soccer. 

We are searching for candidate who are outgoing and enthusiastic about promoting Philadelphia Union throughout the local area.   Applicants must be 18 years or older and have a reliable form of transportation. Additional requirements will be discussed if considered for the position.

Applicants should be available for all Philadelphia Union home matches in 2015.  (March-October, 18 on avg.) 
Applicants can use this position as an internship to recieve college credit or on a volunteer basis to gain experience.  

THIS POSITION IS UNPAID and is a VOLUNTEER/INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY.  Compensation may be available for select events.
