EXPECTATIONS:
A fantastic opportunity for a Motion Graphics Intern to assist the Chicago Fire Soccer Club Creative Services department.

The role entails in the assistance of creation of in-game graphics and other animations. Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to juggle several projects at any one time; capable of working on tight deadlines and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXPECTATIONS:
The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design
• Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
• Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
• Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
• Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
• Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house
• Prioritize and filter work load coming from all departments through a design request form system
• Design advertisements, print materials, still digital imaging and web graphics

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking a motivated individual to assist with daily media relations duties and game day media operations. This position is for an individual with exceptional written and verbal communications skills. The individual should possess strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of the Chicago Fire and Major League Soccer.

Match-Day Entertainment Internship - Columbus Crew (Columbus, OH)

 

The Columbus Crew is searching for outgoing college students to support the Crew’s match-day activation during all home matches. This internship provides a variety of sports-marketing related learning experiences, specifically in match-day operations, event production, and fan development.

Reports to: Fan Development Coordinator, and works directly with the Sr. Marketing and Advertising Manager and the Sr. Director of Marketing and Promotions.

Match-Day Responsibilities:
• Assist in the set-up, execution and tear down of match-day elements, including but not limited to plaza and on-field activations, in-match entertainment, and post-match events
• Aid the Crew Sales department with various elements; including but not limited to group activations, on-field recognitions and data capture
• Serve in a variety of operational and production roles ranging from on-field promotions, sponsorship activation and distribution of match-day credentials

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

• The Columbus Crew is seeking a Communications Intern to support the Crew’s Communications Department with its daily media relations and ditigal content duties. The Crew is a charter member of Major League Soccer, and has won one MLS Cup, three Supporters’ Shields and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, making the club one of the most prestigious professional soccer franchises in North America. The Communications Intern plays a role in all departmental activities, including: day-to-day media relations, player communications, match day press functions and content development for all digital platforms. This position has frequent interaction with the Crew’s management and players, along with team staff from other MLS clubs, and as a result professionalism and attention to detail are critical attributes for this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Communications Department with match day media relations responsibilities, including press box management, media credentialing, digital content and post-game quotes
• Create multiple pieces of written content, such as press releases, media advisories, game notes and articles for TheCrew.com (opportunity for published byline)
• Assist with media and internal content needs at team training sessions
• Aggregate and assist with layout of club’s annual media guide

2014 FC Dallas Summer Internship Opportunities - Operations and related areas - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

 

FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain Operational experience in the Sports, Venue and Entertainment industry. Many different operations opportunities are available across our organization.


We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program.
Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.
All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

Grounds: The intern will be responsible for assisting the FC Dallas Grounds department in all aspects of operation and facility management of Toyota Stadium, 17 field Soccer Complex, and surrounding landscape. This position will offer a great opportunity to work with a professional sports organization with a multi-use facility. Interns will gain valuable hands on experience in game operations, field maintenance cultural practices, and landscape techniques. Qualified applicants must be pursuing a degree in a related field of study. Availability to work nights/weekends and game days are required.

Job Duties:
• Work directly with Grounds department to ensure all game preparations, field maintenance, and landscaping is completed as scheduled.
• Assist with a variety of field setups and breakdowns (benches, goals, bleachers, banners, a-frames, sideline tarps, football uprights, turf blankets, concert floor, etc.)
• Assist with mowing, edging, weed-eating, tree trimming, plant beds, field layout and painting, field set up, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualification:
• Candidates must receive college credit and provide proof of school enrollment and internship credit to participate.
• Must be proactive, reliable, and punctual.
• Must be able to stand and work for long periods of time.
• Must be able to endure heat/cold for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop and reach in all directions.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs repetitively.
Minimum Time Commitment:

Hospitality Management Internship: The Food and Beverage Company, Legends Hospitality, LLC, for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are looking for a dependable, well organized and trustworthy intern. The Hospitality intern will play a supportive role to the F&B department for the soccer club and stadium, and will receive exposure to all facets of the Hospitality Industry in a Stadium setting. All internships with FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid and must be used to receive college credit.

Job Duties Include:
• Assist the General Manager of Legends at Toyota Stadium and his team in the planning, organizing, logistics and operations of all events hosted at FC Dallas Stadium.
• Administrative duties including but not limited to filing, scanning documents, special projects and data entry.
• Assisting in the coordination Non Profit volunteer concessions activities and scheduling.
• Greeting and assisting Employment/Food and Beverage office visitors, clients, vendors and applicants.
• Champion our service excellence philosophy throughout all operations.
• Assist in enforcement of all Health and Safety Standards.
• Help to ensures compliance with all local and state liquor laws and Legends Alcohol Service Standards.

The HR intern will play a supportive role to the Human Resources department for the soccer club and stadium, and will receive exposure to all facets of the Human Relations Department in a Generalist Capacity. All internships with FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid and must be used to receive college credit.

Job Duties to include:
• Assisting with and coordinates recruitment efforts, which may include attending job fairs
• Administrative duties including but not limited to filing, scanning documents, special projects and data entry
• Conducting pre-screening interviews for applicants, maintain applicant log
• Source on-line applications
• Set up orientation for new interns
• Coordinating and assisting with team building and employee activities
• Assisting with college internship program, maintain current postings at universities
• Greeting and assisting Employment office visitors, clients and applicants

Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

Job Duties include:
• Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
• Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
• Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.
• Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
• Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.
• Developing timelines, itineraries, and checklists prior to events.
• Assist with compliance in accreditation and parking for Staff and Volunteers.
• Coordinate pre-game events on the field in accordance with MLS rules and regulations.
• Resolve customer service issues or work with supervisors if unable to do so alone.

Team Administration: The purpose of this internship is to assist the Assistant Team Administrator and Equipment Managers with the daily duties involved with the Major League Soccer team FC Dallas and their U-18 & U-16 Academy Teams.

Duties:
• Perform necessary & required Laundry duties pertinent to the Professional Program, Academy Teams, Coaches, & Staff needs (Gear, Uniforms, towels etc.)
• Ensure all necessary & required equipment is available for all FCD Home and Away Games for the 1st Team, Reserves and Academy sides

North Texas Soccer Tour: FC Dallas and North Texas State Soccer Association in conjunction with a few key sponsors have developed a mobile marketing tour that travels throughout DFW and north Texas area. We are currently looking for a students interested in participating in the execution of the tour. The tour visits approximately 50-60 events per calendar year which include soccer tournaments, league play, and various sponsor events. The tour consists of a company SUV that pulls a 24-foot trailer, a 10x10 tent and interactive inflatables. The North Texas Soccer Tour Internship will serve as an integral part of the FC Dallas strategic marketing efforts.

Members of this team will act as ambassadors for FC Dallas interacting with fans during scheduled 17 home games and at various special events including (but not limited to); player appearances, community events, media functions, nightlife appearances, and team driven events in the DFW area.

• Assist CRM Coordinator in developing analytical reports utilizing Microsoft SAS technology

• Assist with Fan Engagement Campaigns by aiding the customer segmentation, helping develop the internal programs required to execute the campaign, and subsequently analyzing the results of the campaign

• Utilize data analysis to provide insights into MLS database and recommend new engagement campaigns

• Participate in strategy discussions in developing new engagement strategies

• Develop statistical models via customer profiling, purchase history, and engagement behaviors to help study MLS fans

• Create and deliver emails to the MLS database utilizing Exact Target platform

• Assist with any other duties required within Strategic Planning & Research department

• Assist with the reporting and analytical needs of other departments within MLS

Job Description:
Red Bull New York is seeking to appoint one college student to become the ‘Performance Analyst Intern’ within the team staff. The role, briefly, is to expose the student to the provision of video and statistical based support to the Performance Analyst, first team coaching staff, & players within the team.

THIS WILL BE AN UNPAID ROLE DURING THE 2014 SEASON. College Credit will be offered.

Responsibilities:

• Exposure to the initial phase of written reports.
• Observe the preparation of video projects to be reviewed by the Performance Analyst.
• Assist in the filming of 1st team matches, reserve team matches, and training sessions as needed.
• Maintain and organize a DVD & file-based library of all our fixtures from the 2014 season.
• Other statistical based projects.
