Fall 2014 Stadium Operations Intern - BBVA Compass Stadium (Dynamo Stadium) (Houston, TX)

This position is under the supervision of the Assistant Operations Manager of BBVA Compass Stadium. It assists with day to day stadium operations and conversions.

Essential Functions:
• Assist with day to day operations, set ups, and conversions
• Report irregularities, discrepancies, damages or loss of property or any other safety concerns to Operations Manager
• Assist the Event Services department with the event preparation and execution
• Assist in keeping inventory of building tools, machinery, cleaning supplies, and building equipment
• Assist in maintaining security and services of patrons and employees during all stadium events
• Use of a dolly and pallet jack as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Must be able to work irregular hours and weekends if needed
• Attend all home games depending on school availability
• Knowledge of facility management and or event operations preferred
• Knowledge of safety practices and all applicable safety standards for public facilities preferred
• Knowledge of current First Aid and safety procedures preferred
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, building tenants, and the public

Fan Experience Internship - Sept 2014 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

We are looking for a smart, service passionate individual who is interested in joining the Fire in the Fan Experience/Customer Service department as an intern. This department focuses on improving the overall gameday experience for the fan through building vendor relationships, tracking fan feedback and executing the Chicago Fire CHAMPS service and recognition program.  The Intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours a week), including 100% attendance for Chicago Fire home games. This internship begins in September.

Instructions for candidates:

Internship - Information Technology - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Information Technology Intern will report directly to the Information Technology Manager.  This position is responsible for assisting with the daily upkeep of the Chicago Fire/Toyota Park data and telecom networks with a specific focus on providing support to the venue on event days.  The Information Technology Intern will also be charged with setting up and maintaining computer hardware and software.  Listed below are the responsibilities and qualifications expected of this position.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up telecom and data connections for Chicago Fire

  • Assist with troubleshooting server, network, desktop hardware, printer and software issues

  • Assist with event execution; responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Pre-event set-up (technology needs, broadcast  and internet connections, etc.)

      • Assist with technology needs and issues during the event

      • Audio/Visual assistance

      • Post-event tear-down and cleanup

  • Assist with setting up workstation and telecom needs for all employees

  • Assist with the completion of projects supporting the execution plan of the IT Department

  • Implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Merchandise Department Internship - Columbus Crew (Columbus, OH)

 

The Columbus Crew is currently recruiting an intern for our Merchandise and Retail Department. This intern will support the Merchandise Manager and Merchandise Coordinator in all areas of the Merchandise Department.  Applicants should have strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task. This position will work within the Merchandise Department, but will also interact with all other departments within the organization.

 

Reports To:  Merchandise Manager

 

Responsibilities:

·         Assist with inventory management and planning of Crew branded merchandise

·         Assist with all pre-event and event operations within the department

·         Coordinate the match-day set up of merchandise selling locations

·         Manage the Crew Gear store from customer service to display of product and inventory management

·         Learn the POS register/inventory system to be able to troubleshoot issues and assist with maintaining product database

·         Assist with development and execution of marketing plan for merchandise department

·         Assist with fulfillment of Crew Youth Development Program uniform orders

·         Some clerical work including data entry, copying, filing and reporting

Position Overview:

Assist the D.C. Union Academy Operations Intern:

• Responsibilities include operational planning, set-up, and management for Philadelphia Union Youth Academy Events
• Coordinate operational staffing needs and serve as liaison to all game day operational entities including, but not limited to visiting team, officials, police, EMS, ticket takers, ushers, guest services, grounds, housekeeping, facilities management, emergency management, technical services, information technology, disability management, and parking and traffic

• Design and creation of audio/video content and graphics for in-stadium video board and website.
• Assist in maintaining all video production equipment and control room needs
• Shoot and edit weekly press conferences and player interviews
• Logging and archiving footage.
• Assist in the creative planning for outside events that come to PPL Park.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge oFinal Cut Pro, Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator.
• Knowledge of Camera Operation and Lighting, and Audio set-up.
• Creating original content.
