POSITION PURPOSE: Candidate will be responsible for assisting in driving sales revenue in the soccer specific stadium in Bridgeview, IL.

Ticket Sales & Service Intern - Chicago Fire (Bridgeview, IL)

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Assist the Sales & Service Team with various tasks.

  • Work with the sales representatives on group sales initiatives and lead generation research.

  • Game day duties include: Operational duties and interacting with fans to create a positive experience.

  • Making outbound phone calls to Chicago Fire fans and prospects.

  • Other Duties: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Chicago Fire Soccer Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company. Upon employment, the employee is required to fully comply with Chicago Fire rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of company facilities. Employees who violate these rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. 

  • SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company:

    -Data entry

    -Assisting other departments with various tasks

Graphic Design Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Graphic Designer Intern

Reports To:
Senior Manager of Creative Services

EXPECTATIONS:
The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task. Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design
• Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
• Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
• Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
• Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
• Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house
• Prioritize and filter work load coming from all departments through a design request form system
• Design advertisements, print materials, still digital imaging and web graphics
• Meet all advertising and print deadlines
• Contribute to the invention and implementation of marketing/communications initiatives

Demeanor
• Practice a professional attitude when working with outside sources (ie. publications, print partners, creative agencies, vendors)
• Develop good rapport with other members of the Marketing Department
• Maintain an approachable persona as well as organized and respectful communication with all other departments
• Work closely with the Graphic Designer to ensure a cohesive message and look across all design projects and materials

Requirements

Communications Internship - 2015 Season - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking a motivated individual to assist with daily media relations duties and game day media operations. This position is for an individual with exceptional written and verbal communications skills. The individual should possess strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of the Chicago Fire and Major League Soccer. 

This is an unpaid internship and is for college credit only. Proof that you are receiving credit is required. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Compilation of daily Fire coverage
  • Assist in managing Social Media results
  • Management of Fire media distribution lists
  • Research for and write press releases and other Communications projects
  • Produce Fire related content for press releases and website
  • Participate in Communications department meetings and events
  • Assisting in all aspects of press box operations on game days including press box setup, managing Media Will Call, transcribing quotes and additional duties.

Required skills

Columbus Crew SC is offering internships in our Player Development Department. This internship is designed to offer experience in the day-to-day operation of Crew SC Academy, Player Development system and Crew Camp Programming. The Player Development internship is a great way to interact and collaborate across Crew SC.

Internships are available for recent graduates or students actively pursuing education and academic credit may be available. The internship requires approximately 15-20 hours per week at the Stadium and requires some evenings and weekends.

Opportunities & Responsibilities

·         Gain knowledge/understanding of developing business and managing projects

Intern - U23 Coaching (Summer 2015) - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

D.C. United's U23 team staff is seeking 2 to 3 coaching interns to assist with the 2015 NPSL season. 

Description:

Candidates will work closely with the U23 Staff to help run 3 two hour training sessions and a 4 hour weekend match. The candidates primary role will be in assisting D.C. United's coaching staff with training preparation, in addition to the responsibilities listed below:

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-training – inflating balls / bibs / cones / fill water jugs / squeezies / Misc items
  • Training – Assist in general flow of the training session to support the Head Coach and Assistants
  • Post-training – clean up, delivery (if needed) and storage of all gear.
  • Washing of bibs, training uniforms – prepare for the next day
  • Match day – Arrive early enough to assist with set up / gear allotment / set up for warm up / paperwork as needed
  • Support the coaching staff

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be available to work throughout the summer (1 May- 1 August)
  • 12-15 hours per week May - August; applicants available to commit full time are preferred, but part time candidates will also be considered.
  • Personal transportation to/from training / match locations
  • High energy – enthusiasm for the game and teaching
  • Punctual
  • Previous coaching and playing experience
  • Able to create training sessions by topic if needed

Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.

Creative Department Internship: FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are looking for an intern to work with the Creative Team in the creation and design of print and online/digital content.  This internship is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Advertising, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or a related field.  You must be an active college student and you must use the internship to receive college credit to be eligible for our program.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Create and design flyers, posters and other collateral to support the Sales, Partnerships and Marketing departments
  • Assist the Marketing team with the creation and design of online/digital graphics to use on web and social media outlets
  • Assist the Creative Team in photography projects from player photo and video shoots to merchandise product shoots

Digital Content Internship: FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are looking for a digital content intern to assist the Marketing and Media Relations departments. The digital content intern will report to the Digital Content Editor and assist with the day to day objectives of the Marketing and Media Relations departments.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:
• Assist in creating, editing and publishing content for fcdallas.com, fcdallasyouth.com and other websites
• Monitor site traffic and analytics for fcdallas.com
• Assist in developing storylines and creating blog posts

North Texas Soccer Tour: FC Dallas and North Texas State Soccer Association in conjunction with a few key sponsors have developed a mobile marketing tour that travels throughout DFW and north Texas area. We are currently looking for a students interested in participating in the execution of the tour. The tour visits approximately 50-60 events per calendar year which include soccer tournaments, league play, and various sponsor events. The tour consists of a company SUV that pulls a 24-foot trailer, a 10x10 tent and interactive inflatables. The North Texas Soccer Tour Internship will serve as an integral part of the FC Dallas strategic marketing efforts.

Members of this team will act as ambassadors for FC Dallas interacting with fans during scheduled 17 home games and at various special events including (but not limited to); player appearances, community events, media functions, nightlife appearances, and team driven events in the DFW area.


Team members will be expected to have a dynamic personality with the ability to engage the target audience in lively conversation and be able to sell FC Dallas tickets and merchandise. Members must be capable of communicating key brand messages and conversing about soccer in a knowledgeable and positive manner.
Schedule will be based around events, games, and North Texas Soccer tour dates.

Duties:

  • Work directly with Grounds department to ensure all game preparations, field maintenance, and landscaping is completed as scheduled.
  • Assist with a variety of field setups and breakdowns (benches, goals, bleachers, banners, a-frames, sideline tarps, football uprights, turf blankets, concert floor, etc.)
  • Assist with mowing, edging, weed-eating, tree trimming, plant beds, field layout and painting, field set up, etc.

Duties include:
• Assist the Juniors Player Development department in marketing, administration, scheduling, and facilitation of events including soccer camps, soccer clinics and coaching education sessions.
Requirements
• Must have previous experience playing Soccer
• Must hold a valid driver license and clean driving record.

The Hospitality intern will play a supportive role to the F&B department for the soccer club and stadium, and will receive exposure to all facets of the Hospitality Industry in a Stadium setting. All internships with FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid and must be used to receive college credit.

Job Duties to include:

  • Assisting with and coordinates recruitment efforts, which may include attending job fairs
  • Administrative duties including but not limited to filing, scanning documents, special projects and data entry
  • Conducting pre-screening interviews for applicants, maintain applicant log

Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

Job Duties include:

  • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
  • Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
  • Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.
  • Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
  • Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.

Team Administration: The purpose of this internship is to assist the Director of Soccer Operations & Equipment Managers with the daily duties involved with the Major League Soccer team FC Dallas and their U-18 & U-16 Academy Teams.

Duties:

  • Perform necessary & required Laundry duties pertinent to the Professional Program, Academy Teams, Coaches, & Staff needs (Gear, Uniforms, towels etc.)
  • Ensure all necessary & required equipment is available for all FCD Home and Away Games for the 1st Team, Reserves and Academy sides
  • Ensure that all MLS requirements & protocols are followed for all games that FCD Teams are involved
  • Assist the Equipment managers with ordering, inventorying, preparation, & distribution of all equipment for the FCD Professional & Academy Programs, coaches & staff.
  • Assist the Equipment managers in the necessary & timely preparation for all professional team practices (Field & Equipment)
  • Assisting with the set-up of daily team practice – daily distribution of practice gear for 28 players, 5 Coaches, 4 staff members and all guest players
  • Assisting with the logistics of team travel – Visa requests, team itineraries, per diem request and distribution, in-city transportation, follow-up communication with travel agents and hotels.

2015 FC Dallas Summer Internship Opportunities - Communications and related areas - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain Communications experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry. Many different opportunities are available across our organization.

We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program.

Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.

All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

Internships are available in the following departments:

Community Relations Internship: The FC Dallas Foundation is seeking a motivated intern, who is a self-starter and who is interested in developing the relationship FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium has with the surrounding communities.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Managing incoming donation requests and fan mail
• Helping to facilitate the Kicks for Kids programs
• Assisting with game-day initiatives and community programs
• Supporting the Director of Foundation & Community Relations with the iinitiatives of the FC Dallas Foundation upcoming events and fundraisers.
• Manage player appearances
• Database Management

Minimum Requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive and work well under pressure
• Detailed-oriented and organized
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Able to multitask and prioritize
• High ethical standards and strong sense of confidentiality

Media Relations Internship: The media relations internship is ideal for a college student with an interest in public relations and has knowledge of FC Dallas and Major League Soccer.

Job Duties:
• Assist with FC Dallas Game Day Operations
• Includes Game notes, press box set up, credential process
• Assist media with statistical questions, player interview requests, etc.
• Assist in writing Press Releases / Develop story lines / Blog posts
• Assist in creating Game Day Roster Handout and other publications FCD Hoops Nation, Enews, Freekick, etc.
• Assist in coverage of FCD Reserve Team and FCD Youth System / games at Toyota Stadium
• Assist with providing stories and content for FCD.net. FCD Blog.
• Attend and observe FC Dallas practices
• May involve taking photos and shooting video

Qualifications:
• Must be an active college student and receive college credit.
• Spanish Speaking preferred
• Previous Experience with press releases and game notes
• Must be available to work some nights and weekends for events held at Toyota Stadium.

All internships with FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid and must be used to receive college credit. We have created a hands on experience for students looking to get experience in the Sports industry. Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with building out and repositioning the MLS brand

  • Provide research and analysis that supports brand building opportunities and endeavors related to all points where fans intersect with the MLS brand, these could include: kit launch strategies from around the world, opening season branding and programming platforms, Gen Y brands etc.

Candidate must hold a law degree or be in the process of completing one. This is a three to six month paid internship position.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Reviewing and drafting contracts in key business areas including ticket sales, marketing and sponsorships
  • Assisting with team projects, including projects related to internal business affairs, MLS rules and requirements, and other general legal and administrative matters as they arise
  • Completing legal and business research on topics as assigned

This summer internship will run from June through August and is an unpaid, school-credit based position.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Generate ideas for fan engagement initiatives
  • Attend events, archive photos/videos and post event recaps
  • Research events and topics to support the fan engagement initiatives i.e. multicultural media outlets, NYC demographics and social trends

• Responsible for shooting, editing, and creating original content to be displayed on website, in-stadium, and weekly magazine     show
• Design and creation of audio/video content and graphics for in-stadium video board and website.
• Assist in maintaining all video production equipment and control room needs
• Shoot and edit weekly press conferences and player interviews
• Logging and archiving footage.
• Assist in the creative planning for outside events that come to PPL Park.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Timbers/Thorns Youth Camp program is one of the most popular soccer camps in the Northwest. The camp program started with about 35 camps in 2010 and has now grown to over 65 camps for the summer of 2015.

The intern will work directly with the Team Administrators for each time with tasks including, but not limited to, the following: liaising MLS, USL Pro and PDL visiting teams when in the Portland area, assisting with player management, MLS, USL Pro and PDL game day operations, assisting with travel coordination, daily office work and other tasks as assigned by the Soccer Operations department. 

Required Qualifications
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills

• Must have basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs
• Must have outstanding follow through and organizational ability
• Must be able to work weekends/irregular hours

About Us: The Portland Timbers enter their fifth season in Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2015. As the league’s 18th team that began competing in MLS in 2011, the Timbers play their home games at Providence Park, an approximately 21,000-seat stadium in downtown Portland. Video Operations Intern - Summer 2015 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, KS)

We are currently looking for a Video Operations intern for the summer of 2015. Video Operations produces the game day television broadcast, in-stadium video board show, and a variety of web content.  In this program, the intern will have the opportunity to participate in all facets of production and improve his or her knowledge of control room and production equipment and software by working day-to-day with staff at the production facility. The internship will also enable the intern to push his or her level of creativity through shooting, editing projects and creating graphics.

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter, possess strong attention to detail and take great pride in his/her work. The internship will challenge the applicant’s ability to multitask in a busy environment. The intern will be given every opportunity to learn all aspects of production, so the intern must be focused on broadening his or her video production skillset.

The intern will intern with Sporting Kansas City for the number of hours required to earn his/her academic credit.  The internship will begin at the conclusion of the 2015 spring semester and conclude before the start of the 2015 fall semester.  Exact dates of the internship are negotiable.  The intern must be available for home matches throughout the duration of the internship. The intern will be asked to commit to regularly scheduled office hours during the week and occasional nights and weekends. These hours are also negotiable.
