• Make initial contact with clients and vendors to arrange for set-up & logistics of events
• Communicate event details to stadium staff through production notes
• Oversee the Guest Services Uniform Room and the distribution/collection of materials to staff

Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a creative, hard working, individual who is interested in joining the Fire family. Our department organizes and coordinates adult recreational soccer leagues for coed and men's teams. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours/week). The internship begins August 10th.

CFRS is the largest adult rec soccer provider in Chicago. Our home is The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - the premier soccer facility in the city. As we grow, we're looking for driven young professionals to join our team. Let us know if that sounds like you!

DESCRIPTION:

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student who is interested in gaining experience in marketing and brand strategy, matchday production, and event & entertainment marketing. Students must be available at least 25 hours per week. Students MUST RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT to qualify for this internship. Date to start: August 17th, 2015

POSITION PURPOSE: 

The primary responsibility is to provide weekday and matchday assistance to the Marketing Department. The intern will be expected to: 

- Assist in marketing plan development and execution, including matchday 
- Operate Chicago Fire Junior Supporters Club 
- Assist in design and distribution of marketing collateral 
- Assist in planning and execution of grassroots marketing efforts, including managing lead collection, distribution of promotional items, and creating staff information sheets

Operations Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Chicago Fire is looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in operations and how a professional soccer club operates. Students who are available for the majority of the Summer Semester from May - October are preferred. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience. All Chicago Fire Internships are unpaid.


 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

·         The primary responsibility is to provide event and game day assistance to gain experience in the Operations Department. This includes:

o   Credential preparation and management

o   Pre-game preparation

o   Game day operation responsibilities which includes assistance in managing our pre-game festival area - Fire Fest

o   Grassroots marketing efforts

o   Coordination and interface with Fire players, coaches and mascots at community  appearances, autograph signings and events

o   Front office maintenance projects, maintenance of company vehicles, facility upkeep, equipment storage and inventory

o   Occasional First Team operational needs

·         Interns will be expected to work select weekend and weeknight events along with ALL games. Game day duties may include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown. 

·         Candidates should be very comfortable performing physical labor duties on a daily basis. Previous experience in Event Operations is ideal and a strong leadership background is a plus.

Columbus Crew SC (Soccer Club) is the first club in Major League Soccer and 2015 is the organization’s 20th season. Description

Columbus Crew SC is offering internships in our Player Development Department. This internship is designed to offer experience in the day-to-day operation of Crew SC Academy, Player Development system and Crew Camp Programming. The Player Development internship is a great way to interact and collaborate across Crew SC.

Internships are available for recent graduates or students actively pursuing education and academic credit may be available. The internship requires approximately 15-20 hours per week at the Stadium and requires some evenings and weekends.

Opportunities & Responsibilities

·         Gain knowledge/understanding of developing business and managing projects

Internship Overview:

D.C. United sales interns will learn the inner workings of how to run a successful sports organization along with supporting the game day operations of a stadium. This position fulfills a variety of roles within the team’s ticket sales department. Goals:

United is seeking a highly motivated candidate to work closely with the Academy Director, AcademyManager and Coordinator in the logistical set-up and tear down of academy matches.  The U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy season runs from August - December, candidates must be able to cmmit to the Fall Season for at least 90% of games.

    Essential Functions:

    • Setup and breakdown for all Academy home matches

    2015 Fall Internship - Creative Design - FC Dallas (Frisco, TX)

    FC Dallas of Major League Soccer and Toyota Stadium are looking for a student intern to work with the Creative Team in the creation and design of print and online/digital content. We have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry. We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program. 

    Toyota stadium & Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.

    All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment, marketing, and sales industries. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

    CREATIVE DESIGN INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create and design flyers, posters and other collateral to support the Sales, Partnerships and Marketing departments
    • Assist the Marketing team with the creation and design of online/digital graphics to use on web and social media outlets

    Job Duties:

    • Work directly with Grounds department to ensure all game preparations, field maintenance, and landscaping is completed as scheduled.
    • Assist with a variety of field setups and breakdowns (benches, goals, bleachers, banners, a-frames, sideline tarps, football uprights, turf blankets, concert floor, etc.)
    • Assist with mowing, edging, weed-eating, tree trimming, plant beds, field layout and painting, field set up, etc.

Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

    Job Duties include:

    • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
    • Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.

    North Texas Soccer Tour: FC Dallas and North Texas State Soccer Association in conjunction with a few key sponsors have developed a mobile marketing tour that travels throughout DFW and north Texas area. We are currently looking for a students interested in participating in the execution of the tour. The tour visits approximately 50-60 events per calendar year which include soccer tournaments, league play, and various sponsor events. The tour consists of a company SUV that pulls a 24-foot trailer, a 10x10 tent and interactive inflatables. The North Texas Soccer Tour Internship will serve as an integral part of the FC Dallas strategic marketing efforts.

    Members of this team will act as ambassadors for FC Dallas interacting with fans during scheduled 17 home games and at various special events including (but not limited to); player appearances, community events, media functions, nightlife appearances, and team driven events in the DFW area.


    Team members will be expected to have a dynamic personality with the ability to engage the target audience in lively conversation and be able to sell FC Dallas tickets and merchandise. Members must be capable of communicating key brand messages and conversing about soccer in a knowledgeable and positive manner.
    Schedule will be based around events, games, and North Texas Soccer tour dates.

    Duties:
    • Set up/tear down for each tour event.
    • Market FC Dallas and coordinating partners to potential customers during each tour event throughout the Metroplex and surrounding communities.
    • Creating and updating database for all leads collected during tour events
    • The team will be responsible for many game day servicing and sponsor promotion execution duties including; greeting clients as they enter Toyota Stadium, conducting fan surveys on the concourse during the game, and assisting marketing department in pre-game and halftime activities.
    • The North Texas Soccer Tour Team will participate in additional off-site appearances such as community events, charitable events, media appearances, player appearances, and special events.

    Sports Science Intern – Fall 2015

    The Sports Science intern will take an active role in all phases of the Sports Performance Program and will assist the sports science and sports medicine staff in the running of their department and the daily operation of their jobs.     • Properly set up and break down  all Pre training/match and Post training/match hydration and supplementation necessities

    • Distributing and collecting GPS equipment to all soccer personnel when needed

    • Mini educational projects set by the Head of Sports Science

    Video Operations Intern - Fall 2015 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, KS)

    We are currently seeking a Video Operations intern for the Fall of 2015. Video Operations produces the game day television broadcast, in-stadium video board show, and a variety of web content. In this program, the intern will have the opportunity to participate in all facets of production and improve his or her knowledge of control room and production equipment and software by working day-to-day with staff at the production facility. The internship will also enable the intern to push his or her level of creativity through shooting, editing projects and creating graphics.

    The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter, possess strong attention to detail and take great pride in his/her work. The internship will challenge the applicant’s ability to multitask in a busy environment. The intern will be given every opportunity to learn all aspects of production, so the intern must be focused on broadening his or her video production skillset.

    We are currently looking for candidates interested in an internship with our youth soccer development program. The intern will be exposed to the various elements associated with Sporting Kansas City’s youth academy program, athletic partnership program and other youth soccer initiatives, such as soccer clinics and camps. The intern will also be introduced to the behind-the-scenes operations of Sporting Kansas City home games.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support the youth development team by gathering research for potential member organizations in the Sporting Club Network
    • Assist with partner activation and fulfillment on game day and at events
    • Hold coaching and/or administrative roles at SKC’s youth-driven events, including, but not limited to, camps and clinics
    • Assist in youth development department’s communications, online presence, & digital media (i.e. social media, event recaps, & blog writing)
    • Assist in fulfillment of Sporting Club Network and Academy Affiliate partnership program
    • Support the youth development team with the preparation, production and data collection of mid-season & end-of-season recap reports
    • Help organize, promote, and facilitate soccer clinics, camps, coaching education, and other community-driven events
    • Support any projects, initiatives, and other administrative duties related to Sporting KC’s youth development department

    Fall '15 Ticket Sales/Service Internship - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

    Sporting Kansas City is looking for energetic interns with a flexible schedule (approximately 15-20 hours a week) who enjoy sports, sales and entertainment. Interns should be available during the Fall (approximately mid-August to early-November).


    In order to qualify for the Sporting KC Sales and Service Internship a student must:

    (1) Have junior or senior standing and be enrolled in a four-year degree program, or be enrolled in a graduate program and be eligible to receive course credit for the internship.

    (2) Have a current cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

    (3) Demonstrate high levels of leadership, confidence and innovation as compared to others in their peer group.
