Human Resources Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Expectation: Chicago Fire is seeking a smart, detail oriented individual who is interested in joining the Fire in the Human Resources department as an intern. This department focuses on building strong business relationships with employees and management, partnering with multiple business units in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, training & development and recognition. Looking for students available to start in January 2017.

Responsibilities:?

  • Assist with recruitment initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Fluency in another language (Spanish preferred) is helpful.

 Description:

The Chicago Fire currently has a rare opening for a motivated and enthusiastic college student looking to get great sports marketing exposure. The ideal candidate will be looking for a career either in sports marketing, or potentially events, and be able to work a mixture of days, evenings and weekends. He or she will work directly with the Marketing Coordinator and Senior Director of the facility, and will assist in the creation of new marketing ideas, develop and improve existing ones and follow through on successful execution.

Graphic Designer Intern - Winter/Spring 2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview/Chicago, Il)

Expectations: The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. The intern will service all departments with any creative or design needs, from initial concepts to final production, execution and/or distribution. The Intern Designer is responsible for maintaining the visual integrity of the club as perceived by the market, and for strengthening brand presence within that market. He or she must demonstrate the ability to supply creative solutions on a daily basis to a variety of requested projects while remaining organized and on task. Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Responsibilites:

  • Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
  • Formulate design concepts, presentations, templates, layouts, merchandise, installations and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
  • Create advertising campaigns that are followed across a variety of collateral
  • Develop understanding of target audience and market for specifically aimed marketing pieces
  • Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to various parties, in and out of house
  • Prioritize and filter work load coming from all departments through a design request form system

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking a motivated individual to assist with daily media relations duties and game day media operations. This position is for an individual with exceptional written and verbal communications skills. The individual should possess strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of the Chicago Fire and Major League Soccer. 

This is an unpaid internship and is for college credit only. Proof that you are receiving credit is required. 



Primary Responsibilities

  • Compilation of daily Fire coverage
  • Assist in managing Social Media results
  • Management of Fire media distribution lists
  • Research for and write press releases and other Communications projects
  • Produce Fire related content for press releases and website
  • Participate in Communications department meetings and events
  • Assisting in all aspects of press box operations on game days including press box setup, managing Media Will Call, transcribing quotes and additional duties.

Required skills

-       Basic understanding of video camera functionality, lighting, and production techniques.

Description

Columbus Crew SC is offering an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach paid internship within the CCSC Performance Department. This internship offers a stipend and reports to the High Performance Director and Head of Strength and Conditioning.

2017 internships are available for recent graduates or students actively pursuing education and academic credit may be available. The internship begins in March 2017, requires approximately 25-29 hours per week and is based at MAPFRE Stadium and the EAS Training Facility at Obetz. 

Opportunities & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in designing and implementing individual performance programs for the first team both in the gym and on the field
  • Assist with CCSC athletic testing protocols
  • Assist with rehabilitation programs
  • Assist with the daily collection of readiness to train data
  • Assist with preparation of the nutrition/supplementation program
  • Assist with documenting all workouts in data management system
  • Assist with the cleanliness of the weight room and nutritional areas
  • Assist with any other duties assigned by the Director of High Performance

Required skills, experience & abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Exercise Science/Physiology, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Must have CSCS, PES or other comparable certification
  • Demonstrated ambition, energy and enthusiasm with a passion for athletic performance enhancement
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs in a team environment
  • Prior work or volunteer experience in a rehabilitation facility or other related experience a plus
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a high performance environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn player monitoring software and video analysis or similar
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, including strong verbal communication skills. Second language a plus
  • Demonstrated professionalism with both internal and external audiences
  • Able to work independently and with a team
  • Familiarity with functional training methods such as Gary Gray or Frans Bosch preferred

  • Sports Turf Management -  Responsible for the upkeep of MAPFRE Stadium’s pitch, Stadium landscape and the EAS Training Facility. The Sports Turf Management Internship provides students with hands-on experience with professional sports turf management.
  • Human Resources - The HR internship offers an introduction to the role of an HR generalist as well as exposure to basic Human Resources practices and procedures.
  • Information Technology (IT) – Gain practical experience in desktop support and troubleshooting, network and server management as well as event set-up and maintenance.
  • Marketing - Experience and assist with the day-to-day Club marketing activations and responsibilities. The Marketing Intern focuses on expansion of the Crew SC brand in the broader market as well as Crew SC Matches.
  • Match Activation – Involvement in a variety of sports marketing related experiences, specifically in event production, supporter engagement and promotions.

District ’96 Marketing Team

Reports To: Marketing Manager, Hannah Penman

Location: RFK Stadium, 2400 East Capitol Street SE, Washington, DC 20003

Overview:

District ’96 represents D.C. United across a variety of engagements, our District ’96 group is some of the most knowledgeable members of our sporting community. Through active fan engagement, they help provide memorable experiences to D.C. United supporters across the DMV and at each home match at RFK Stadium. Members will be asked to represent and promote D.C. United at a variety of events annually with the goal of enhancing the fan experience through positive, energetic fan interaction. These events include, but are not limited to: home games at RFK Stadium, special events, sports tournaments, partner appearances, festivals, mobile marketing vehicle locations, etc.

Essential Functions:

Members are asked to help with event load-in and load-out. As well as all operational needs and activation of the following elements while at events representing D.C. United:

?Handout premium items

?Facilitate on-site promotions

                                                                                                                                                             

?Interact with fans

?Communicate general information

•Responsible for fan engagement and data collection at each event.

•Assist with other tasks as assigned by Marketing Manager.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability

 

The ideal candidates will reside locally and can begin work in February 2017. There are no guaranteed number of hours per week, scheduling is set on an as needed event/game basis. The opportunity is expected to last up to one year. Also expect opportunities to step into the mascot suit.

 

•Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

•Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs frequently; requires prolonged standing.

•Required to travel frequently, bulk of travel is within the DMV area.

•Hard working, detail-oriented and results-driven.

•Organized with the ability to multi-task and effectively solve problems in a fast-paced work environment.

Internship Overview:

We are looking for students/individuals who are interested in gaining experience in grassroots marketing, event management, game day operations and day-to-day business operations. Students who are available at least 30 hours/week for 3-4 months are preferred. D.C. United accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

Essential Functions:

The primary responsibility is to provide weekday and game day assistance to the Marketing Department. Interns will be expected to assist with the following:

  • Lead-generation at grassroots events
  • Company vehicle maintenance
  • Collateral and premium item inventory

  • Lot 8 tailgate

Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

Job Duties include:

  • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
  • Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
  • Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.
  • Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
  • Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.
  • Developing timelines, itineraries, and checklists prior to events.
  • Assist with compliance in accreditation and parking for Staff and Volunteers.
  • Coordinate pre-game events on the field in accordance with MLS rules and regulations.
  • Resolve customer service issues or work with supervisors if unable to do so alone.
  • Observe complex fields to ensure safety procedures, security procedures and equipment usage procedures are followed.
  • Update & maintain schedules for staff, complex and field usage
  • Develop and maintain all proper documentation & files for events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Team Administration: The purpose of this internship is to assist the Director of Soccer Operations & Equipment Managers with the daily duties involved with the Major League Soccer team FC Dallas and their U-18 & U-16 Academy Teams.

  • Assisting with the logistics of team travel – Visa requests, team itineraries, per diem request and distribution, in-city transportation, follow-up communication with travel agents and hotels

  • Ensure all necessary & required equipment is available for all FCD Home and Away Games for the 1st Team, Reserves and Academy sides

  • Ensure that all MLS requirements & protocols are followed for all games that FCD Teams are involved

  • Assist the Equipment managers with ordering, inventorying, preparation, & distribution of all equipment for the FCD Professional & Academy Programs, coaches & staff.

  • Assist the Equipment managers in the necessary & timely preparation for all professional team practices (Field & Equipment)

  • Assisting with the set-up of daily team practice – daily distribution of practice gear for 28 players, 5 Coaches, 4 staff members and all guest players

  • Perform necessary & required Laundry duties pertinent to the Professional Program, Academy Teams, Coaches, & Staff needs (Gear, Uniforms, towels etc.)

  • Receiving, cataloging and distribution of all new incoming team gear. Preserving and cataloging all archived team gear.

  • All other duties as assigned

The primary focus is assisting the Ticket Operations Manager with growing and cleaning the sales database, creating/editing reports, and assisting in the box office on game days.  This position is highly analytical and technology-based, but requires business development sense and an entrepreneurial spirit as well. 

Responsibilities: 

·         Create and maintain patron records in CRM system

·         Assist with managing the sales database

·         Enter data captured from events, contests, and games into the system

·         Develop new leads and enter them into the system

Members of our Game Day Staff will work at all Minnesota United FC home matches during the 2017 season. This part-time position focuses on the preparation and execution of home matches, and creating a positive fan experience.
