Information Technology Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Title: IT Intern

Reports To: IT Manager                

Expectations:   

The Information Technology Intern will report directly to the Information Technology Manager.  This position is responsible for assisting with the daily upkeep of the Chicago Fire/Toyota Park data and telecom networks with a specific focus on providing support to the venue on event days.  The Information Technology Intern will also be charged with setting up and maintaining computer hardware and software.  Listed below are the responsibilities and qualifications expected of this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up telecom and data connections for Chicago Fire
  • Assist with troubleshooting server, network, desktop hardware, printer and software issues
  • Assist with event execution; responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Pre-event set-up (technology needs, broadcast and internet connections, etc.)
    • Assist with technology needs and issues during the event
    • Audio/Visual assistance
    • Post-event tear-down and cleanup
  • Assist with setting up workstation and telecom needs for all employees
  • Assist with the completion of projects supporting the execution plan of the IT Department
  • Implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Handle additional administrative duties related to the IT Department as assigned by the IT Manager to include such items as research and development of new IT initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for internship. 
  • Students should be pursuing experience in information technology, communications, sports management or a related field.
  • Must be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision; must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with a large and diverse population.
  • Fluency in a second language is preferred.
  • Must be able to operate under extreme deadlines.
  • Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week.
  • Must be willing to work long hours, irregular schedules and weekends.
  • Mut be able to work all home Chicago Fire games
  • Must have knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Windows OS and office
  • Knowledge of MAC OS and server platforms is a plus
  • May be asked occasionally to travel to remote Chicago office

Operations Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Chicago Fire is looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in operations and how a professional soccer club operates. Students who are available for the majority of the upcoming Semester from from May - August are preferred. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience. All Chicago Fire Internships are unpaid.


 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

·         The primary responsibility is to provide event and game day assistance to gain experience in the Operations Department. This includes:

o   Credential preparation and management

o   Pre-game preparation

o   Game day operation responsibilities which includes assistance in managing our pre-game festival area - Fire Fest

o   Grassroots marketing efforts

o   Coordination and interface with Fire players, coaches and mascots at community  appearances, autograph signings and events

o   Front office maintenance projects, maintenance of company vehicles, facility upkeep, equipment storage and inventory

o   Occasional First Team operational needs

·         Interns will be expected to work select weekend and weeknight events along with ALL games. Game day duties may include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown. 

·         Candidates should be very comfortable performing physical labor duties on a daily basis. Previous experience in Event Operations is ideal and a strong leadership background is a plus.

·         Must be available from from May - August are preferred; candidates available from from May - September are preferred are strongly preferred.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: 

·         May be required to assist other departments with various projects

·         Inter-Department Training Program for Ticket Sales, Marketing, Communications and Corporate partnerships will be provided.

REQUIREMENTS:

2016 Summer Sponsorship Internship - Houston Dynamo (Houston, TX)

The Houston Dynamo organization is seeking three (3) Sponsorship Interns for the 2016 summer. The Houston Dynamo Sponsorship Intern program provides hands-on experience with the various duties and responsibilities required to coordinate a successful professional sporting event.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (under direct supervision):

Office:

  • Assisting the Partnership Marketing staff in executing all partner contractual elements
  • Support the Marketing and Dynamo Charities departments on sponsor programs and initiatives
  • Event planning and execution of partner related events at our stadium, training facility and various other venues (networking, appreciation and educational events, among others)
  • Game day execution of partner promotions and activations
  • Tracking added value for partner including, but not limited to ticket plan promotions, social media, game day giveaway promotion, etc.
  • Representing the Houston Dynamo at sponsored events including player, 713 Squad and Dynamo Diesel appearances
  • Administrative tasks such as mailing, database upkeep, electronic filing, etc.
  • Set up and tear down of partner related elements at games and community events
  • Composing season recaps
  • Other duties as assigned

Game Days: Arrival time is approximately six (6) hours before kickoff (lunch provided) and departure time is approximately one (1) hour after the game ends (varies by length of postgame player meet and greets). Day of game responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Texas Street Fest Activation Area: this is the Dynamo pregame festival area where partners set up tents and have interactive games and giveaways for fans. Interns will help partners with various areas of need (i.e., logistical setup, marketing support, coordination details, etc.).
  • Partner-Branded Activation Support: provide assistance and support with implementation and coordination of activation programs for Dynamo partners; including but not limited to, Audi Suite Parking Lot, Bud Light Beer Garden, BBVA Compass Photo Morphing Station.
  • Pre-game Ceremonies Coordination: escorting clients/fans to watch pregame warm-ups, implementing ceremonial “first kick” and client team photo.
  • Halftime Promotions: escorting guests for bubble soccer/relay race, military ceremony, etc.
  • In-game Promotions: coordinating selection of participants/winners, awarding prizes, coordinating with production team.
  • Post-Game Player Meet & Greets: help set up area (setup/teardown, coordination of player autograph signings, partner branding, etc.), along with other logistical details required to conduct program.

COMPANY GUIDELINES & REQUIREMENTS

  • Intern positions will not be scheduled to work more than twenty eight (28) hours per week under any circumstance. This includes time spent at events, matches, trainings, and in the office.
  • All interns must be students enrolled in post-secondary education.
  • In the case of a credit receiving internship, both the intern and their educational institution must agree that our internship policies will qualify the intern to receive credit.

Job Description

The Ticket Operations Intern position is an entry-level, part-time position. PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The Event Operations Internship is designed to provide experience to students pursuing a career in event operations and event marketing. Interns focus on providing operational support for all New York Red Bulls events, and activation spaces on match day at Red Bull Arena. Event Operations Interns learn about managing operations staff and activation production timelines. Interns report directly to the Event Operations Coordinator, but also interact regularly with the entire events team in the marketing department. During the internship they are involved in all event equipment preparation, set-up, logistics, breakdown, and special operations projects for New York Red Bulls events.

Position Summary: Orlando City SC is looking for a creative and driven Graphics Design Intern. This person will work alongside the Membership Director and Graphic Design team, and will have the opportunity to learn how to design and produce marketing collateral for the Club. Concluding this internship this person will know how to design, prepare and present marketing collateral, within the marketing department for a professional sports team. Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking hardworking, positive and passionate individuals who wish to supplement their classroom instruction with practical experience facilitating key operational tasks associated with the production of professional soccer games. Interns will have a direct role in executing match operations such as presentation, field setup, locker room requests, etc. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to oversee back of house operations including setup/teardown, locker rooms, stadium management, etc. Interns will work under close supervision of the VP of Gameday Operations and Operations Coordinators.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with gameday/event management and set-up/breakdown for all MLS, NWSL, USL and Pro-Academy home games as assigned.
  • Arrange visiting team’s requests, working with the venue and other departments to fulfill the team’s needs.

2016 Internship- Soccer Operations Administrative Intern - Portland Timbers (Portland, OR)

The Soccer Operations Admin Intern will assist in the daily operations of the Portland Timbers MLS team, Timbers 2 USL team and Timbers U23 PDL team. POSITION SUMMARY
Sporting Kansas City internships allow college or graduate-level students to hold a temporary position within the organization, with emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in sports operations by doing a wide variety of different tasks assigned by their Team Lead.
The Stadium and Event Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast paced, behind-the-scenes environment, with the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer in Kansas City. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Learn how professional sports venues operate by collaborating with the Operations Team at Children’s Mercy Park with every hosted event, experiencing as many aspects of operations as possible.
  • Assist in the setup and execution of corporate meetings, weddings, holiday parties, special sporting events (i.e.; college football, U.S. Soccer, rugby, soccer clinics, etc.), large and small scale concerts, or any other applicable event.
  • Learn and participate in the organizational philosophy of a Pristine Stadium for all events.
