Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a smart, service orientated, customer facing passionate individual who is interested in joining the Fire family. Our department organizes and coordinates adult recreational soccer leagues for coed and men's teams. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours/week).

CFRS is the largest adult rec soccer provider in Chicago. Our home is The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - the premier soccer facility in the city. As we grow, we're looking for driven young professionals to join our team. Let us know if that sounds like you!

Position Summary

MLS WORKS (MLSW) is Major League Soccer’s community outreach initiative dedicated to addressing important social issues.  MLSW serves as a platform for League and club philanthropic programs and seeks to establish Major League Soccer as a leader for improving the lives of people through sport.

The Community Relations Intern will support the day-to-day function of the department as it relates to the execution of philanthropic programs for the League and its charitable partners.  The Community Relations Intern must be a team player, have a passion for social responsibility, be motivated and be able to own projects from conception through execution.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of community outreach efforts that will create additional exposure for MLS WORKS, MLS clubs and players

  • Work closely with internal departments on the creation of MLS WORKS marketing and promotional materials (print, broadcast, in-stadium and electronic communication)

  • Provide support for MLS WORKS service events, campaigns and outreach efforts around MLS tent pole events (e.g. MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup)

  • Coordinate logistics when raising funds for charitable partners including online auctions, in-stadium and/ or through viral efforts

  • Manage the process of internal and external donation requests and fulfillment

  • Support the community relations department by maintaining schedule of events, program metrics, photo and video archive and memorabilia inventory

  • Support other MLS WORKS projects, including department administration, as requested

Game Day Operations Interns aid in the successful execution of each home game.  Interns will receive an exclusive behind the scenes look at a professional sporting event and build unique experiences in the sport industry.  Game Day Operations Interns assist in the execution of Minnesota United home matches, ensuring that fans have an unforgettable experience.  This is a paid, part time, seasonal position and reports to the Game Day Operations Manager.  This position is located in Blaine, MN.

Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the execution and organization of game day set-up, game execution, and tear down.
  • Monitor and manage various stadium amenities and areas during each home game.
  • Be assertive and friendly to any and all fans in attendance of each game.
  • Be on time and dressed properly for each shift.
  • Be the face of Minnesota United FC and represent the club in both a professional and personable way.
  • Work with the marketing department for other large event operational needs.

Requirements:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Information Technology Intern is responsible for supporting the Information Technology Director with the execution of short-term projects and daily activities. The areas of concentration include but are not limited to: employee onboarding and set-up, help desk support, printer support and management, and the creation of documents and guides for end users.  This is a paid internship position.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assist staff to diagnose and solve computer equipment problems

Description:

The New York Red Bulls are looking for a motivated and organized college student that will support the Company’s Finance department. This internship is a great opportunity for those interested in pursuing a corporate finance career, particularly in the sports industry. As a Finance Intern, you will have the opportunity to shadow the Finance Director in his day-to-day responsibilities overseeing and managing all financial analysis, statistical reporting, and business planning for the Company. There will be a focus and emphasis on data gathering, financial modeling and analysis, and process management.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage the Union’s @TheUMatchDay Twitter (play by play) account on game days

·         Assist in updating and editing content on philadelphiaunion.com

Multicultural Marketing Intern:


The Multicultural Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting the marketing and communications department, as well as assist with all front office day-to-day operations. Internships with Philadelphia Union will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.
Applications applying for the Multicultural Marketing Internship should be fluent in Spanish (oral and written communication) and have the ability to translate text and speech fluently from English to Spanish and Spanish to English. A writing sample will be required during the interview process. Interns will be asked to work nights and weekends. Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Compose and distribute a monthly newsletter in Spanish
• Translate articles and create original content for Spanish website 
• Brainstorm and assist in development for multicultural marketing strategy 
• Assist all aspects of Multicultural Mobile Marketing Tour and Player appearances
• Research multicultural communities in the Philadelphia area
• Continue to build our Latino email and phone number database
• Assist with grassroots and promotional marketing events

Youth Soccer Intern - Spring 2016 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

We are currently looking for candidates interested in an internship with our youth soccer program. The intern will be exposed to the various elements associated with Sporting Kansas City’s youth academy program, athletic partnership program and other youth soccer initiatives, such as soccer clinics and camps. The intern will also be introduced to the behind-the-scenes operations of Sporting Kansas City home games.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the youth development team by gathering research for potential member organizations in the Sporting Club Network
  • Assist with partner activation and fulfillment on game day and at events
  • Hold coaching and/or administrative roles at SKC’s youth-driven events, including, but not limited to, camps and clinics
  • Assist in youth development department’s communications, online presence, & digital media (i.e. social media, event recaps, & blog writing)
  • Assist in fulfillment of Sporting Club Network and Academy Affiliate partnership program
  • Support the youth development team with the preparation, production and data collection of mid-season & end-of-season recap reports
  • Help organize, promote, and facilitate soccer clinics, camps, coaching education, and other community-driven events
  • Support any projects, initiatives, and other administrative duties related to Sporting KC’s youth development department

REQUIREMENTS

  • At the time of the internship, have completed at least your sophomore year at a four-year accredited college institution or be enrolled in an accredited graduate program
  • Must provide proof that you will receive credit through the internship toward the completion of your degree
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (based on 4.0 scale)
