Hours required: min.15-40 per week (possibly more during season)

Prerequisites:

Duties will include:

  • Assist in coordination of game day 50-50 raffle program

  • Assist with development and executition of organization wide volunteer opportunities and programs
  • Assist in development and execution of Foundation and Community Relations programming with  partners (Ex: City Year, LTS tournament, Practice in the Community, etc)
  • Chicago Fire Foundation special events including annual luncheon, auctions, marathon, etc.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and grant writing

Ticket Operations Internship - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Ticket Operations Internship

This is a part-time seasonal position which will begin in Februrary and end at the conclusion of the 2016 season. The candidate will be paid hourly and work 25-35 hours a week. Interns will be asked to work some nights and weekends. Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Ticket operations intern will be responsible for assisting the box office in day-to-day operations as well as front office operations and events support.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sell tickets to walk-up customers at the TOYOTA Park Box Office
• Learn the Archtics ticketing system
• Prepare the box office for game day and event on-sales
• Provide a high level of customer service at Fire home games and other TOYOTA Park events
• Create and distribute Archtics reports as necessary
• Print and pay all tickets within the Chicago Fire/Toyota Park box office
• Balance all income received from ticket sales/single event daily
• Issue and track all local and national sponsor ticket and all complimentary ticket requests
• Track all tickets, coupons, vouchers and special promotions
• Assist with Will Call responsibilities and needs day of game
• Manage main box office on day of events- customer service window
• Order supplies for Ticket Services department
• Assist in resolving any ticket related concerns
• Manage main office ticket sales

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking a motivated individual to assist with daily media relations duties and game day media operations. This position is for an individual with exceptional written and verbal communications skills. The individual should possess strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.

Primary Responsibilities

Columbus Crew SC is offering a Brand Ambassador Internship for the 2016 season to share his or her contagious passion for Crew SC throughout the community. This internship offers both in-office and external experiences to build personal connections and brand awareness.

The 2016 Brand Ambassador Internship requires 15-20 hours per week and has flexible hours to accommodate an academic schedule. Candidates must be a recent graduate or actively pursuing education in Communications, Marketing or related field of study.

Opportunities & Responsibilities

·         Assist Marketing Department and Crew SC Brand Ambassador in planning and executing events and promotions

·         Share passion for soccer with supporters, client, vendors and the community

·         Prepare materials, maps and serve as on-site point of contact for brand events

·         Assist with logistics for brand events including setup, execution and tear down

·         Prepare and anticipate marketing needs for individual activations, events and promotions

Intern - Youth Soccer Coach & Operations (Summer) - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

The 2016 Summer Camp Coaching & Operations Internship Program is an opportunity for an individual excited about soccer development, coahing and operations to immerse themselves into D.C. United's Summer Soccer Camps at RFK Stadium.  The individual will work closely with the camp site director and the Manager, Camps & Training Programs.  The primary role will be in assisting coaching staff with on field coaching as needed by any lead coach, equipment preparation and additional responsibilities listed below.

Essential Functions:

Coaching:

  • Help lead coach and provode coaching and positive feedbcak to youth players
  • Understand the topic for each session and be prepared to rpovide coaching based on coaching points
  • Assist site director in setting up camp and closing camp each day
  • Help with Registration on mondyas per site directors direction
  • Organize session (cones, balls, pinnies) for lead coaches
  • Help organize the youth players with the coaching staff to and from the stadium for events (lunch, locker room tour, team store trip, stadium tour, first team training, etc.)

Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Youth coaching experience
  • High School or College playing experinece preferred but not required
  • Minimum "E" Coaching License or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Experience in child cpreferred
  • CPR/First Aid certification strongly preferred

Professional Qualities:

  • Punctual, dependable, positive attitude, high energy, respectful, responsible, fun, effective communicator

Internship Overview:

The D.C. United Ticket Sales & Service team is looking for talented undergraduate and graduate students aspiring to enter the sports industry to join us as interns for the Summer 2016 Season.

As an intern you will learn what goes into driving revenue and attendance at D.C. United home matches while also participating as a member of the game day sales operations team.  Support will be provided to premium, season sales, group sales, membership services and events teams.

Goals:

·         Show initiative to assist Managers and Account Executives of the D.C. United sales department

·         Show initiative to create new revenue generating sales programs

·         Assist in the daily operations of the D.C. United sales department

Work Plan:

  • Participate in live sales training sessions
  • Support the department by attending non-matchday events to drive awareness and new leads for the club
  • Support the sakes/service staff with prospect list compilation and database entry
  • Support in the design and execution of Season Ticket Member and prospecting events
  • Support sales campaigns through outbound phone calls and follow up with prospects

    FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium have created a unique hands on experience for students looking to gain Communications experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry. Many different opportunities are available across our organization.

    We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program.

    Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.

    All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry.     Community Relations Internship: The FC Dallas Foundation is seeking a motivated intern, who is a self-starter and who is interested in developing the relationship FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium has with the surrounding communities.

    Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Managing incoming donation requests and fan mail
    • Helping to facilitate the Kicks for Kids programs
    • Assisting with game-day initiatives and community programs

    Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.


    All internships for FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.

    Grounds: The intern will be responsible for assisting the FC Dallas Grounds department in all aspects of operation and facility management of Toyota Stadium, 17 field Soccer Complex, and surrounding landscape. Interns will gain valuable hands on experience in game operations, field maintenance cultural practices, and landscape techniques. Qualified applicants must be pursuing a degree in a related field of study. Availability to work nights/weekends and game days are required.

    Job Duties:

    • Work directly with Grounds department to ensure all game preparations, field maintenance, and landscaping is completed as scheduled.
    • Assist with a variety of field setups and breakdowns (benches, goals, bleachers, banners, a-frames, sideline tarps, football uprights, turf blankets, concert floor, etc.)
    • Assist with mowing, edging, weed-eating, tree trimming, plant beds, field layout and painting, field set up, etc.

    Job Duties Include:

    • Assist the General Manager of Legends at Toyota Stadium and his team in the planning, organizing, logistics and operations of all events hosted at FC Dallas Stadium.

    Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

    Job Duties include:

    • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
    • Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
    • Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.

    North Texas Soccer Tour: FC Dallas and North Texas State Soccer Association in conjunction with a few key sponsors have developed a mobile marketing tour that travels throughout DFW and north Texas area. We are currently looking for a students interested in participating in the execution of the tour. The tour visits approximately 50-60 events per calendar year which include soccer tournaments, league play, and various sponsor events. The tour consists of a company SUV that pulls a 24-foot trailer, a 10x10 tent and interactive inflatables. The North Texas Soccer Tour Internship will serve as an integral part of the FC Dallas strategic marketing efforts.

    Members of this team will act as ambassadors for FC Dallas interacting with fans during scheduled 17 home games and at various special events including (but not limited to); player appearances, community events, media functions, nightlife appearances, and team driven events in the DFW area.


    Team members will be expected to have a dynamic personality with the ability to engage the target audience in lively conversation and be able to sell FC Dallas tickets and merchandise. Members must be capable of communicating key brand messages and conversing about soccer in a knowledgeable and positive manner.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

    FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium are currently looking for an Executive Director, National Soccer Hall of Fame. The Executive Director is responsible for the management, documentation, preservation and interpretation of the history of soccer in the United States and of the artifacts and historical collections displayed at the National Soccer Hall of Fame (“HOF”).  Position will report directly to HOF Board of Directors

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide for the general care and management of the Hall of Fame’s artifact collection, including registration of artifacts, their documentation and preservation, and prepare exhibits to tell the game’s story in the United States
    • Manage the acquisition of artifacts documenting the sport’s history and its growth in the United States
    • Oversee the collection’s conservation needs and assist in long range museum collection and preservation practices
    • Develop exhibits, displays, and interactives for the HOF
    • Develop volunteer/intern/docent program to accompany visitors through the Hall of Fame

    Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking two Merchandise Interns. Interns will assist the Merchandise Coordinator and Merchandise Manager with daily duties pertaining to sales, inventory, and events.     Position Summary:

    Orlando City SC seeks highly motivated individuals capable of assisting the Community and Foundation Relations Department with managing and promoting community development initiatives. This department is responsible for coordinating player charitable appearances and the distribution of signed team items for nonprofit charities to utilize in their fundraising efforts.     Video Production Intern:

    Interns will be responsible for assisting the front office in day-to-day operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of all PDL/U23 injuries.
    • Attendance at every Timbers PDL/U23 training session and match is required.  This will include Travel with the team to away matches.
    • Must communicate effectively to Timbers PDL/U23 coaches in regards to athlete’s injuries, return to play protocols and all timelines.     
    • Meticulous record keeping of all injuries and illnesses.  This includes accurate injury reporting and all treatments associated with injuries.
    • Coordination, chaperoning and recording of all medical appointments related to injuries that occur during PDL/U23 activities.
    • Regular meetings with the Director of Sports Medicine to review injuries, treatments, and return to play.    
    • Strict adherence to the PDL budget in regards to purchasing of supplies and equipment
    • The PDL/U23 academy athletic trainer may be called upon to fill in for an absence of other athletic trainers within our sports medical team if their schedule permits. 
    • Develop strong relationships with the Portland Timbers PDL physicians and communicate with them regularly regarding injuries. 
    • Invited to but not required to work during all Timbers 1st team home matches, schedule permitting during the PDL/U23 season.

    Commitment:

    As a member of the Portland timbers medical staff you may be asked to assist the first team, USL team, and, academy teams, however the certified interns overall hours will be limited to 30 per week.  The main focus of the certified intern will be acting as the head athletic trainer of the Portland Timbers 2015 PDL team. The PDL competitive seasons begins in May 2015 and ends in July 2015 with the possibility of post season competition.  Certified intern may be asked to stay through the end of the MLS season after the PDL/U23 season ends.

    Compensation: 

    Compensation will be Oregon minimum wage ($9.25/hr).

    As a member of our corporate sales internship team you will be expected to serve as point of contact for current partners, renewals and prospects and is responsible for all sales process implementation.  Ensure that all facets of assigned sponsorship accounts are given service with professionalism, attention to detail and customized client focus.  This person will target a diverse group of important partners, renewals and prospects as well as internal contacts at all levels.  This position must support the organization’s mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, collaboration, and innovation. THIS IS AN UNPAID POSITION.  Position will begin in May 2016.

    Corporate Sales Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Utilize client objectives and goals to develop and research promotional platforms and partnership strategies.
    • Create, track, develop and maintain all proposals, research, contracts and wrap-up books following Corporate Partnership’s processes and guidelines.
    • Compile, report, enter, collect, forecast, and track accurate account elements, billing, fulfillment and contact information, as well as reports pertaining to proposals, contracts, budgets, and other account details. 
    • Greet, support, and serve current and potential clients daily and at games.
    • Assist, support and coordinate with internal departments in regards to all aspects of promoting and managing all Sporting Club Franchise properties and other department responsibilities; including but not limited to, special projects and planning.
    • Create new business opportunities through connecting with prospective clients.
    • Take ownership and/or lead on designated projects and programs for both activation and sales.
    • Learn and implement the sales process from introduction to closure including the following: prospect research, securing the meeting, conducting the pitch, follow-up strategies, finalizing terms and signed contract. 

    Required Skills:

    • Professional appearance, attitude, and communication skills as well as the ability to work with others is expected.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills required. 
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support multiple high level positions. 
    • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.  
    • Strong teamwork aptitude required.
    • Strong customer service skills required.
    • Strong good oral and written communication skills and have the ability to work independently, and coordinate multiple tasks.
    • Flexible schedule; ability to work long hours.
    • Must be able to work all applicable home games during 2016 season.

    Game Day and Event Operations Intern -- Summer Semester 2016 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, KS)

    Sporting Kansas City is looking for confident, hard-working, and innovative college or graduate-level students who are interested in an opportunity to earn course credits toward the completion of their degree, while obtaining practical experience in the world of professional sports.  Our redesigned internship program provides valued learning opportunities, hands-on experience, and the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer here in Kansas City. We are looking for candidates interested in the area of Game Day and Event Operations.  Through this internship, the intern will be introduced to the behind-the-scenes operations of Children’s Mercy Park before, during, and after Sporting Kansas City home games and other events, such as concerts.

    Multiple interns needed for 2016 Summer Semester.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • At the time of the internship, have completed at least your sophomore year at a four-year accredited college institution or be enrolled in an accredited graduate program
    • Must provide proof that you will receive credit through the internship toward the completion of your degree
    • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (based on 4.0 scale)
    • In addition to working normal office hours, must be available for home matches and other events throughout the internship session (primarily evenings and weekends)
    • Interest and experience in competitive sports is preferred
