Marketing Internship - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

DESCRIPTION:

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student who is interested in gaining experience in marketing and brand strategy, gameday production, and event & entertainment marketing. Students must be available at least 20 hours per week. Students MUST RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT to qualify for this internship. Date to start: September 2014

 

 

POSITION PURPOSE: 

The primary responsibility is to provide weekday and gameday assistance to the Marketing Department. The intern will be expected to: 

- Assist in marketing plan development and execution, including gameday 
- Operate Chicago Fire Junior Supporters Club 
- Assist in design and distribution of marketing collateral 
- Assist in planning and execution of grassroots marketing efforts, including managing lead collection, distribution of promotional items, and creating staff information sheets 
- Assist with strategic partnership fulfillment and agreements 
- Research regarding further marketing opportunities for the Chicago Fire and TOYOTA PARK 
- Gameday operations responsibilities (*may require some heavy lifting), which includes working all weekend and weeknight games. Gameday duties may include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown 
- Some responsibilities will include clerical work, such as filing, data entry, copying and correspondence

REQUIREMENTS: 

- Understanding of key marketing concepts 
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing 
- Proficiency in all Microsoft applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 
- Goal-oriented, ambitious, honest individuals sought with strong work ethic, dedication and desire to learn 
- Ability to fluently speak a second language preferred -- especially Spanish 
- Ability to provide own transportation to / from Toyota Park (7000 S Harlem Ave, Bridgeview, IL)

Internship - Information Technology - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Information Technology Intern will report directly to the Information Technology Manager.  This position is responsible for assisting with the daily upkeep of the Chicago Fire/Toyota Park data and telecom networks with a specific focus on providing support to the venue on event days.  The Information Technology Intern will also be charged with setting up and maintaining computer hardware and software.  Listed below are the responsibilities and qualifications expected of this position.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up telecom and data connections for Chicago Fire

  • Assist with troubleshooting server, network, desktop hardware, printer and software issues

  • Assist with event execution; responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Pre-event set-up (technology needs, broadcast  and internet connections, etc.)

      • Assist with technology needs and issues during the event

      • Audio/Visual assistance

      • Post-event tear-down and cleanup

  • Assist with setting up workstation and telecom needs for all employees

  • Assist with the completion of projects supporting the execution plan of the IT Department

  • Implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Handle additional administrative duties related to the IT Department as assigned by the IT Manager to include such items as research and development of new IT initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for internship.  Student will receive monthly stipend and school credit only.

  • Students should be pursuing experience in information technology, communications, sports management or a related field.

  • Must be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision; must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with a large and diverse population.

  • Must be able to operate under extreme deadlines.

  • Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week.

  • Must be willing to work long hours, irregular schedules and weekends.

EXPECTATIONS:
A fantastic opportunity for a Motion Graphics Intern to assist the Chicago Fire Soccer Club Creative Services department.

The role entails in the assistance of creation of in-game graphics and other animations. Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to juggle several projects at any one time; capable of working on tight deadlines and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Internships are unpaid (except for $100/month transportation stipend) and available only to persons who will receive college or graduate level credit for their work. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proficient knowledge of After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign(a plus)

Grassroots Marketing Internship Program - Columbus Crew (Columbus, OH)

 

Are you outgoing, energetic, and innovative? The Columbus Crew is searching for individuals to serve as ambassadors for the Crew’s Street Team and grassroots marketing initiatives. Street Team ambassadors will be responsible for facilitating the Crew’s grassroots marketing efforts throughout Ohio. This position provides a variety of sports-marketing related learning experiences, specifically in lead generation, event production, ticket sales and promotions, and fan development.

 

Reports to: Fan Development Coordinator and Outside Sales Manager, and also works directly with the Sr. Marketing and Advertising Manager, Sr. Director of Marketing and Promotions.

 

Grassroots Responsibilities:
• Serve as the Crew ambassador at events throughout Ohio
• Help educate event goers on the Columbus Crew organization, their ticket offers and the promotional opportunities the Crew provides
• Aid in the growth of the Crew database by capturing data on event goers
• Provide a fun, entertaining, and positive experience by interacting and engaging with event goers
• Research new opportunities allowing the organization to further integrate the Crew brand throughout Ohio

 

Match-Day Responsibilities:

• Assist the Crew front office staff in providing guests with an exceptional experience while visiting Crew Stadium

• Assist in the set-up and tear down of Scotts Field seats before and after the match
• Interact with Crew Stadium guests and aid in the Crew’s data capture efforts in order to build the Crew database
• Work with the sales department to provide a positive atmosphere for large group outings, and educate guests on various upcoming Columbus Crew matches and offers

 

Qualifications Required:
• Flexible schedule with the expectation of working nights, weekends and holidays throughout the remainder of 2014 MLS season (August-November)
• Must be detail-oriented and able to complete tasks without direct supervision
• Must be able to provide his/her own transportation to and from Crew matches, and some events

KICKTV is seeking an enthusiastic, smart, self-motivated, efficient, creative and hard-working intern to help support their marketing and social media efforts. The internship will begin in the Fall through the end of the year.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Social Community Manager, the marketing / social Media intern will focus a majority of their time overseeing platform community management (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) and helping to drive video distribution to outside media outlets (social, blogs, club sites).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, monitor and optimize KICKTV activities on all social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Snapchat
  • Write, publish and update weekly content across all social channels based on KICKTV programming schedule and events

Event Operations Interns will support all Union games and events. Event Operations Interns will work in every department including, marketing, ticket sales, operations, community and communications. Design Internship -- Fall Semester - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

DESIGN INTERNSHIP
Sporting Kansas City is seeking a design intern to join our creative team for the fall
semester (September–December). The ideal individual is a self-motivated, enthusiastic
design student ready to create materials in support of marketing efforts for both
Sporting KC and Sporting Innovations.

The internship will be between 10-12 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible and will
adapt to fit student’s availability during the Monday through Friday work week.

Game Day & Events Operations Intern -- Spring Semester 2015 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, KS)

Sporting Kansas City is looking for confident, hard-working, and innovative college or graduate- level students who are interested in an opportunity to earn course credits toward the completion of their degree, while obtaining practical experience in the world of professional sports.  We have redesigned our internship program to provide valued learning opportunities, hands-on experience, and the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer here in Kansas City. We are looking for candidates interested in the area of Game Day and Event Operations.  Through this internship, the intern will be introduced to the behind-the-scenes operations of Sporting Park prior to and during Sporting Kansas City home games and other events, such as concerts.

Multiple interns needed for 2015 Spring Semester.

REQUIREMENTS

·         At the time of the internship, have completed at least your sophomore year at a four-year accredited college institution or be enrolled in an accredited graduate program.

·         Must provide proof that you will receive credit through the internship toward the completion of your degree

·         Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (based on 4.0 scale)

·         Available for home matches and other events throughout the internship session (primarily evenings and weekends)

·         Interest and experience in competitive sports is preferred

Ticket Sales/Service Internship - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

Sporting Kansas City is looking for energetic interns with a flexible schedule (approximately 15-20 hours a week) who enjoy sports, sales and entertainment. Interns should be available for the Fall semester (approximately late-August to early-November).


In order to qualify for the Sporting KC Sales and Service Internship a student must:

(1) Have junior or senior standing and be enrolled in a four-year degree program, or be enrolled in a graduate program and be eligible to receive course credit for the internship.

(2) Have a current cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

(3) Demonstrate high levels of leadership, confidence and innovation as compared to others in their peer group.

Any major is welcome but majors that would best fit the internship include: Sports Marketing and Management, Business or Communications. This internship is not paid, however there is an opportunity to earn class credit and possibly commissions.

This is a sales and service internship, those seeking communications or marketing need not apply.

Internship description:
* Assist the sales/service staff with prospect list compilation and database entry.
* Assist the sales/service staff with research and maintaining our database.
* Represent the organization on game day and at other out of office promotional events.
* Make outbound phone calls and follow up with potential prospects.

Job Requirements:
* Ability to spend at least two (2) days in the office a week in addition to all Sporting KC home matches
* Flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
* Proficient in computer skills required (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
* Organized and detail oriented.
* Have reliable transportation to and from work.

Corporate Partnership Sales Intern - Fall Semester 2014 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

We are looking for candidates interested in the area of Corporate Partnerships – Sales. In this program, the intern will learn the intricacies of the sponsorship sales process, including prospecting/targeting qualified companies, conducting the pitch, creating proposals based on a company’s objectives for partnership, follow-up strategies, finalizing terms, and supporting and serving current and potential clients. THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP
