Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a creative, hard working, individual who is interested in joining the Fire family. Our department organizes and coordinates adult recreational soccer leagues for coed and men's teams. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours/week). The internship begins March 2nd.

CFRS is the largest adult rec soccer provider in Chicago. Our home is The PrivateBank Fire Pitch - the premier soccer facility in the city. As we grow, we're looking for driven young professionals to join our team. Let us know if that sounds like you!

Intern - Youth Soccer Coach & Operations - D.C. United (Washington, DC)

The 2015 Summer Camp Coaching & Operations Internship Program is an opportunity for an individual excited about youth soccer development, coaching and operations to immerse into D.C. United’s Summer Soccer Camps at RFK Stadium. The individual will work closely with the camp site director and the Manager, Camps & Training Programs. The primary role will be in assisting coaching staff with on field coaching as needed by any lead coach, equipment preparation and additional responsibilities listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coaching
• Help lead coach provide coaching and positive feedback to youth players

• Understand the topic for each session and be prepared to provide coaching based on coaching points


Operations
• Assist site director in setting up camp and closing camp each day
• Help with registration on Mondays per site director’s direction
• Organize session (cones, balls, pinnies) for lead coaches
• Help organize the youth players with the coaching staff to and from the stadium for events (lunch, locker room tour, team store trip, stadium tour, first team training, etc).

EDUCATOIN AND EXPERIENCE
• Youth coaching experience

• High School or College playing experience preferred but not required

• Minimum “E” Coaching License or equivalent preferred but not required

• Experience in childcare preferred but not required

• CPR/First Aid certification strongly preferred

PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with proactive pitching and generating media coverage of MLS and SUM among U.S. Hispanic and international media, including compliation of daily MLS online media coverage as well as coverage of SUM properties, such as thte Mexican National Team US Tour and the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
  • Production of press releases, origianl content and material for MLS and SUM
  • Translation of press releases and other content
  • Assist with fielding media requests from US-based and international media outlets, as well as internal requests

The New York Red Bulls are one of 20 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). POSITION SUMMARY
The New York Red Bulls have a Design Intern available. Will assist the NY Red Bulls Marketing team with the development and design of all advertising and design needs for overall marketing support including Tickets, Partners, Merchandise, Promotions, Community Relations, Field Marketing, etc. As a member of the design team, the Intern will be involved with the development and design of all needs as they relate to their accounts; including collateral design, logo development, print advertising, outdoor, display, packaging, web development and more.

 Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking a bilingual English/Portuguese speaking Communications Intern to support the Communications Department with its daily media relations and digital content production duties, including but not limited to writing stories in Portuguese and English, video editing and social media artwork. Summer 2015- Specialized Business Development Intern - Philadelphia Union (Chester, PA)

Specialized Business Development Internship:

The Philadelphia Union is looking for an energetic and motivated American Military Veteran, who could be in any number of different degree programs, to work on two business relation initiatives: Tickets for Troops and Army-Navy Cup. The internship will include elements of, but not be restricted to, marketing, communications, and sales, which in essence describes what Business Development is all about.

The Tickets for Troops 2015 campaign will be enacted as part of the Philadelphia Union match on Saturday, June 27th against the Montreal Impact. Army-Navy Cup IV is a stand-alone event and thus will take up more time and energy. That match between the Black Knights of Army West Point and the Midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, with take place on Friday evening, October 2nd.

This internship will expose you to just about every facet of the business operations of Philadelphia Union. And while you don’t have to look forward to a career in Sports Management, there are a multitude of similarities to the production of any event, that could be beneficial to someone in a variety of marketing, promotions, advertising/public relations or sales curricula.

This athletic trainer will report directly to the Director of Sports medicine/Head Athletic Trainer.  This position will begin immediately and will extend through the end of the MLS season.    

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic training or similar field of study
  • Valid NATA certification
  • Valid CPR/AED certification
  • Valid State of Oregon license
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of working with athletes

  • FMS certification

  • SFMA certification

  • CSCS certification

  • Background in soccer

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of all PDL/U23 injuries.
  • Attendance at every Timbers PDL/U23 training session and match is required.  This will include Travel with the team to away matches.
  • Must communicate effectively to Timbers PDL/U23 coaches in regards to athlete’s injuries, return to play protocols and all timelines.     
  • Meticulous record keeping of all injuries and illnesses.  This includes accurate injury reporting and all treatments associated with injuries.
  • Coordination, chaperoning and recording of all medical appointments related to injuries that occur during PDL/U23 activities.
  • Regular meetings with the Director of Sports Medicine to review injuries, treatments, and return to play.    
  • Strict adherence to the PDL budget in regards to purchasing of supplies and equipment
  • The PDL/U23 academy athletic trainer may be called upon to fill in for an absence of other athletic trainers within our sports medical team if their schedule permits. 
  • Develop strong relationships with the Portland Timbers PDL physicians and communicate with them regularly regarding injuries. 
  • Invited to but not required to work during all Timbers 1st team home matches, schedule permitting during the PDL/U23 season.

Commitment: As a member of the Portland timbers medical staff you may be asked to assist the first team, USL team, and, academy teams, however the certified interns overall hours will be limited to 30 per week.  The main focus of the certified intern will be acting as the head athletic trainer of the Portland Timbers 2015 PDL team. The PDL competitive seasons begins in May 2015 and ends in July 2015 with the possibility of post season competition.  Certified intern may be asked to stay through the end of the MLS season after the PDL/U23 season ends.

Compensation:  $9.25 per hour.

Youth Development Intern - Fall 2015 - Sporting Kansas City (Kansas City, MO)

We are currently looking for candidates interested in an internship with our youth soccer development program. The intern will be exposed to the various elements associated with Sporting Kansas City’s youth academy program, athletic partnership program and other youth soccer initiatives, such as soccer clinics and camps. The intern will also be introduced to the behind-the-scenes operations of Sporting Kansas City home games.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the youth development team by gathering research for potential member organizations in the Sporting Club Network
  • Assist with partner activation and fulfillment on game day and at events
  • Hold coaching and/or administrative roles at SKC’s youth-driven events, including, but not limited to, camps and clinics
  • Assist in youth development department’s communications, online presence, & digital media (i.e. social media, event recaps, & blog writing)

REQUIREMENTS

  • At the time of the internship, have completed at least your sophomore year at a four-year accredited college institution or be enrolled in an accredited graduate program
  • Must provide proof that you will receive credit through the internship toward the completion of your degree
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (based on 4.0 scale)
  • Available for home matches and other events throughout the internship session (primarily evenings and weekends)
  • Interest and experience in competitive sports is highly preferred
