Bethlehem Steel FC Equipment Intern (January Start) - Bethlehem Steel FC (USL Affiliate of Philadelphia Union) (Chester, PA)

SUMMARY:

The Equipment Intern will be responsible for assisting the Equipment Manager with day-to-day operations, front office operations, and provide game & event support. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with Bethlehem Steel daily Locker Room set-up (practices and games)
  • Assist Bethlehem Steel Team Staff with day-to-day needs
  • Work with staff to prepare the field and locker room for practices and games
  • Assist the Players and Staff with away game travel
  • Assist with Front Office support
  • Assist with all Bethlehem Steel Games
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required

*This is an unpaid, academic internship*

If selected for an internship with the Philadelphia Union the intern will be required to provide the following clearances:

  • PA Child Abuse History clearance
  • PA State Police Criminal Records Check
  • An FBI Criminal Background Check if you have not been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for 10 years*

Chicago Fire Rec Soccer (CFRS) is looking for a creative, hard working, individual who is interested in joining the Fire family. CFRS runs adult recreational soccer leagues for coed and men's teams. The intern will be expected to work some nights and weekends (15-25 hours/week).

CFRS is the largest adult rec soccer provider in Chicago. Our home, The PrivateBank Fire Pitch, is the premier soccer facility in the city. As we grow, we're looking for driven young professionals to join our team. Let us know if that sounds like you!

Communications Internship - Winter/Spring 2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking a motivated individual to assist with daily media relations duties and game day media operations. This position is for an individual with exceptional written and verbal communications skills. The individual should possess strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of the Chicago Fire and Major League Soccer. 

This is an unpaid internship and is for college credit only. Proof that you are receiving credit is required. 



Primary Responsibilities

  • Compilation of daily Fire coverage
  • Assist in managing Social Media results
  • Management of Fire media distribution lists
  • Research for and write press releases and other Communications projects
  • Produce Fire related content for press releases and website
  • Participate in Communications department meetings and events
  • Assisting in all aspects of press box operations on game days including press box setup, managing Media Will Call, transcribing quotes and additional duties.

Required skills

  • Strong communication skills (writing and speaking)  
  • Written and oral Spanish language skills a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines

Corporate Partnerships Intern - Winter/Spring 2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Expectations: We are looking for a smart, driven and reliable individual to join our team as a Corporate Partnership intern in order to assist us in providing the highest level of service to all of our Partners.   As an Intern with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, you will aid the club in continuing to strive to be a premier club on and off of the pitch, you will play a large role in the achievement of this goal by executing projects and by being a part of the day to day activities of the Club.  We are seeking interns that will take steps on their own to grow and hone their craft. As an Intern you will be expected to give maximum effort every day you come to work. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Partnership Marketing Account Executives with delivering superior Activation:  coordinate/execute all partnership elements/assets for each assigned partner.  This includes but is not limited to (1) game-day activation and events at Toyota Park, and (2) non-game day events and promotions, including but not limited to clinics, tournaments, player appearances, special promotions, and sweepstakes execution, and (3) partner-related hospitality activities.  May require local travel and nontraditional hours.
  • Assist with Corporate Partnership department projects, including, but not limited to: pre-season action plans, post-season recaps, department events, premium item coordination, tracking social media promotions, organizing matchday and event photos.
  • Research activation concepts for partners as needed. 
  • Support Fire operations necessary to execute partner activation plans.
  • Regularly support Corporate Sales team with communications and ideas/solutions for assigned partners and future partners.
  • Regularly provide Research/Market Awareness to keep up-to-date with current partner news
  • Coordinate any sponsor-related projects as assigned by Director of Partnership Marketing or Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.

Qualifications:

  •  Must be eligible to receive course credit for Internship   
  • Students should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university  in Marketing, Business Administration, Information technology, Communications, Sports management or any related field

Description:

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is seeking a Video Production intern to assist with day-to-day video productions within the Team Website, Home TV Broadcasts, and In-Stadium presentations. Applicant must have a strong work ethic, good time management skills, and the desire to expand their knowledge.

Prerequisites:

-       Basic understanding of video camera functionality, lighting, and production techniques.

-       Knowledge of DSLR and Broadcast quality Cameras and Lenses

-       Skills in Non-Linear Editing on Adobe Premier and After Effects on Apple Computers

-       Knowledge of Video Editing Codecs

-       Understanding of the game of Soccer and familiarity with MLS, and U.S. Soccer

Duties will include:

-       Edit match-up previews, event recaps, and in-stadium content

-       Assist in editing TV Broadcast related content for Pre-Game and Half Time Shows

-       Assist in filming interview collections, and field productions.

Event Operations Intern - Winter 2016/2017 - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

The Chicago Fire is looking for students who are interested in gaining experience in operations and how a professional soccer club operates. Students who are available from January through May are preferred, hwoever those able to work from January through the late March/Early April may apply. The Fire accepts a limited number of internships to ensure that interns gain valuable work experience. All Chicago Fire Internships are unpaid and must receive school credit.


Responsibilities: 

  • The primary responsibility is to provide event and game day assistance to gain experience in the Operations Department. This includes:
  • Credential preparation and management
  •  Pre-game preparation
  • Game day operation responsibilities which includes assistance in managing our pre-game festival area - Fire Fest
  • Grassroots marketing efforts
  • Coordination and interface with Fire players, coaches and mascots at community  appearances, autograph signings and events
  • Front office maintenance projects, maintenance of company vehicles, facility upkeep, equipment storage and inventory
  • Occasional First Team operational needs
  • Interns will be expected to work select weekend and weeknight events along with ALL games. Game day duties may include working on promotions, customer service, stadium set-up and teardown. 
  • Candidates should be very comfortable performing physical labor duties on a daily basis. Previous experience in Event Operations is ideal and a strong leadership background is a plus.
  • Candidates available from Jan - April are preferred; candidates available from Jan - May are  are strongly preferred.

Additional Duties: 

  • May be required to assist other departments with various projects
  • Inter-Department Training Program for Ticket Sales, Marketing, Communications and Corporate partnerships will be provided.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to receive course credit for Internship   
  • Students should be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree from an accredited university
  • Available for 3 – 4 weekdays per week
  • Students should be well organized and demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Students should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work in a collaborative work environment
  • Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week
  • Must be able to work nights weekends & holidays
  • Available for ALL home matches and select events throughout the internship session (primarily evenings and weekends)
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 Lbs

Fan Experience Intern - Chicago Fire Soccer Club (Bridgeview, IL)

Expectation: Chicago Fire is seeking a smart, service passionate individual who is interested in joining the Fire in the Fan Experience/Customer Service department as an intern. This department focuses on improving the overall gameday experience for our fans through building vendor relationships, tracking feedback and executing the Chicago Fire CHAMPS service and recognition program. This position will be expected to work some nights and weekends (about 25 hours a week), including 100% attendance for Chicago Fire home games.

Expectations: The Intern Designer position for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is responsible for any and all creative undertakings by the club across a variety of media including web, print, promotional items and stadium installation/environment. North Texas Soccer Tour: FC Dallas and North Texas State Soccer Association in conjunction with a few key sponsors have developed a mobile marketing tour that travels throughout DFW and north Texas area. We are currently looking for a students interested in participating in the execution of the tour. The tour visits approximately 50-60 events per calendar year which include soccer tournaments, league play, and various sponsor events. The tour consists of a company SUV that pulls a 24-foot trailer, a 10x10 tent and interactive inflatables. The North Texas Soccer Tour Internship will serve as an integral part of the FC Dallas strategic marketing efforts.

Members of this team will act as ambassadors for FC Dallas interacting with fans during scheduled 17 home games and at various special events including (but not limited to); player appearances, community events, media functions, nightlife appearances, and team driven events in the DFW area. 

Interns  will be expected to have a dynamic personality with the ability to engage the target audience in lively conversation and be able to sell FC Dallas tickets and merchandise. Members must be capable of communicating key brand messages and conversing about soccer in a knowledgeable and positive manner.
Schedule will be based around events, games, and North Texas Soccer tour dates.

Duties:
• Set up/tear down for each tour event.
• Market FC Dallas and coordinating partners to potential customers during each tour event throughout the Metroplex and surrounding communities.
• Creating and updating database for all leads collected during tour events
• The team will be responsible for many game day servicing and sponsor promotion execution duties including; greeting clients as they enter Toyota Stadium, conducting fan surveys on the concourse during the game, and assisting marketing department in pre-game and halftime activities.
• The North Texas Soccer Tour Team will participate in additional off-site appearances such as community events, charitable events, media appearances, player appearances, and special events.

Stadium and Complex Operations Internship: FC Dallas is seeking a Stadium Operations/Complex Operations intern who will work directly with the Stadium Operations and Complex Management Departments to assist with scheduling, organizing and coordinating of all events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, with an emphasis on event day logistics. Event day logistics include locker room set-up, table and chair set-up, and pre-game operations. This internship is designed to give students an overall view of the daily operations of a Major League Soccer Stadium and Complex that is in use over 300 days a year.

Job Duties include:

  • Assist the Stadium Operations Department with game day operations to include set up, tear down and event management.
  • Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
  • Help coordinate, plan, and oversee soccer events, concerts, tournaments & other special events at Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center.
  • Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
  • Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.
  • Developing timelines, itineraries, and checklists prior to events.
  • Assist with compliance in accreditation and parking for Staff and Volunteers.
  • Coordinate pre-game events on the field in accordance with MLS rules and regulations.
  • Resolve customer service issues or work with supervisors if unable to do so alone.
  • Observe complex fields to ensure safety procedures, security procedures and equipment usage procedures are followed.
  • Update & maintain schedules for staff, complex and field usage
  • Develop and maintain all proper documentation & files for events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Ticket Sales & Service Intern is responsible for supporting the Ticketing Department with all facets of ticket sales and customer service.  The position will gain experience in NYCFC’s front office as well as at Yankee Stadium on game days.  This is a six-month internship position.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of group events at home games
  • Assist with the servicing and sale of any group tickets, birthday party packages, programs and promotional ticket packages

The New York Red Bulls are looking for motivated and organized college students in need of receiving college credit and experience with the Marketing Partnerships and Premium Services department. The internship is a great opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry. Candidates gain knowledge and insight into a crucial department in the sports industry. Working hours during the week are flexible. Candidates may be required to work all Red Bulls regular season and playoff (if applicable) home matches – this may interfere with holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  •  Compiling key information about potential marketing partner prospects
  •  Assist with service effort for both marketing partners and premium services
  •  Help plan and execute on-site activation of sponsor and partner programs on match days and events as needed (client entertainment, on-field operations, etc.)
  •  Assist in managing client relationships by working with Account Manager, internal divisions (sales, ad ops, content, video production, legal, design, development, and league operations) and when necessary directly with clients and agencies, to ensure successful implementation of programs
  •  Track sponsor activation details including website banner ads placement, activation photos, emails blasts, LED signage, etc.
  •  Create event recaps and case studies for clients detailing the progress and success of their partnership program elements
  •  Provide ad hoc research and support tasks as needed

Description: The Red Bull New York Ticket Operations department is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Ticket Operations Intern. Assisting Ticket Operations & Sales in the following areas:

• Operations for ticketing at Red Bull Arena
• Distribution of tickets for the 2017 season, which includes season ticket packages, printing tickets, and group/individual ticket package mailing.
• Generating ticket sales reports, and managing customer databases.
• Attendance at all events in the Box Office at Red Bull Arena is strongly encouraged.

Description

The New York Red Bulls Academy comprises of grass-root training programs, summer camps, coach education program and Academy teams that play at the highest level. The goals of the RBNY Academy is to help develop young talent, provide training support to local volunteer coaches, assist in the development of youth soccer organization and to serve as a means to identifying and train talented players that one day may go on and play for the Red Bulls first team.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Training Programs Intern will predominantly be involved with coaching assistance, administration, operations and promotion of club programs. Main responsibilities will include:

•          Set up and attendance at community based promotional events

•          Attendance weekly educational meetings/workshops

•          Filming weekly educational meetings & downloading on YouTube channel

Position Summary: Orlando City SC is looking for an Accounting/Finance Intern to work on a wide range of projects assisting the Accounting Manager and Staff Accountant with daily responsibilities while gaining experience in accounting/finance for a professional sports team. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP.

Position Summary: Orlando City SC is seeking a Communications intern to support the Communications
Department with its daily media relations and digital content duties for Orlando City SC, Orlando Pride and
Orlando City B. The Communications Intern plays a role in all departmental activities, including managing
day-to-day media relations, drafting press material and preparing for match day press functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Communications Department with match day media relations responsibilities, including press box management, media credentialing and preparing post-game recaps and quote sheets.
  • Create multiple pieces of written content, such as press releases, media advisories, game notes and articles for OrlandoCitySC.com (opportunity for published byline).
  • Assist with media and internal content needs at team training sessions.
  • Maintain Club’s current media distribution list, and assist in developing segmented lists, along with research of new potential media outlets and blogs to foster relationships.
  • Archive and track ongoing media coverage by putting together daily media clips packs.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in journalism, public relations or other communications related field. Candidates receiving credit for participating in our internship program are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong creative writing skills with knowledge of AP Style guidelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop) a plus.
  • Knowledge of global soccer, Major League Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms.
  • Maintain highest level of professionalism within a pro team environment and in media work zones.
  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Possess an outgoing, engaging and professional personality.
